Kotobukiya Postpones Rockman X 30th Anniversary Stream Event

Due to "various circumstances", Kotobukiya has postponed the previously-announced Rockman X 30th anniversary live stream event. The show was intended to commemorate not only the X series' 30th anniversary but the 5th anniversary of Kotobukiya's Rockman model kit line. New product reveals for the 30th anniversary and updates on previously-announced model kits were anticipated.

Kotobukiya has indicated that the stream will be rescheduled for a later date. New products that were intended to be announced will be featured on a separate YouTube Talk Live program. Additional details will be disclosed at a later date.

  3. Well, there are 6 models currently announced that have yet to be released (Falcon Armor, Axl, Black Zero, MM11, Roll.EXE and Triple Triad) so a new announcement doesn't matter as much, since it wont come out until 2025 anyway, probably. And right now, only 4 of those are on my must have list. I do wish they would get a handle on their release schedule. Good Smile and Bandai are pumping shit out like it's PEZ. Koto takes forever it feels like.

HLJ's Black Friday sale is going on, so I am trying to decide if it's a good time to by Double Charge 2nd Armor and pre-order MM11 ver. If I do, I think I might make a 3d model of that buster gem and see how difficult it would be to get a green resin 3D print of it outsourced for my standard 2nd Armor kit. Shapeways doesn't do resin, as far as I know and I don't have a resin printer. A part like that would be PERFECT in resin.

    1. Shrap, do you sell any of your custom printed parts for models?

    2. No. But I do have some files up right now for free public download. I am debating on tearing apart my 2nd armor and doing the nozzle. I might do that later.

Someone was wanting a BN stage for their stuff, and I was bored, so I drew one up. And I made some custom ankles for Zero because my kit would not cooperate.

I made a crap ton of Mega Armor scaled stuff, but admittedly, they are not the greatest quality considering my skills are very mediocre using free software that doesn't do complex curves well. I need to learn Blender.

    3. HLJ JUST got MM11 ver in stock today. Or so it says.

I went ahead and added a few more Kotobukiya option parts to my 3D warehouse. I made a clone of the 2nd armor buster gem. And also a print I did a few years back for a flat face version of the Max armor buster.

    4. Thank you for the link Shrap, I'm definitely going to try to get some of those pieces printed for myself since a Zero ankle fix is most welcome and the buster pieces are great as well. I'm not a fan of the angled buster tip on the Max armor so your file will definitely enhance that.

I'm not sure if it was you, but did you ever make 3d files for mega armor series hands and arm joints?

    5. This is more of a general advice, but be very careful with resin. Use gloves or other type of protection. I have seen some comments that it can get absorbed by your skin and the sun will cure it inside the skin.

    6. Well, I did make some replacement elbow joints for Mega Armor, and I did make some custom hands.
I could add those files to the warehouse too. I have no problem with that.

I was never quite satisfied with the hands. They were a little too small compared to the bubble fingers the Rockman characters have. Drawing hands is very difficult and I am just brute forcing my way to something resembling a hand. I am working on a better set of hands but not quite done with them, and also I have been very unenthused to do anything so its a matter of motivation to get anything done.

I am looking thinking of adding the STL files to Thingiverse, and bypassing Sketchup altogether. Thingiverse is a much better platform for distribution than the Sketchup warehouse.

    7. Resin is toxic. Which is why I don't want a Resin printer and would only entertain outsourcing it from people who know what they are doing. ABS is toxic too, and that's a common filament people use. I prefer PLA.

This material works fine enough. I've used it before. It's a bit foggy though and not very clear. But would look OK with some translucent green paint. However unlike resin, there would be layer lines.

    8. I pushed my files over to Thingiverse. It's better. Just search under Rockman to find em.

    9. Thank you for the file uploads Shrap, those replacement Mega Armor elbow joints will definitely be useful since some of the elbows on my old kits split. Did you ever do any custom armors like X1 Zero or the X1 and X2 armors in Mega Armor form?

    10. Yes, but I don't want to make those public.

Right now I am working on a Kotobukiya Cutman Mod. A replacement head and scissors, I still have to figure out the backpack. I might post that when it's finished.

  4. dang, even though I don't buy these, I still wanted to see the fully finished Axl and hopefully Black Zero

    1. I'm look forward to seeing the Axl and black Zero as well, hopefully they fix the foot issue Zero has with the poorly thought out ankle joints that cause the feet to pop off all the time. The X kits didn't have that issue at all.

  5. Kinda figured, things are rough these days. Still, that's a blow since the X series has been on and off a lot these days
