Capcom Redesigns Official Rockman Website

For the first time in six years, Capcom has completely refreshed their official Rockman website. The update strips down much of the leftover 30th anniversary content  which hung around for a good while after the occasion  and organizes everything in a more clean and streamlined format.

The revamped site now features a single page divided into three sections: Latest News, About, and Goods. The previous franchise timeline has been replaced by a simple "about" section that spotlights each individual Rockman series. Each series is accompanied by sleek key art alongside a small screenshot. Interestingly, the screenshot representing the EXE series appears to be from a pre-release build of the game—an unintentional oversight. Oops!

Apart from these changes, there's not much else of note. Nonetheless, the overall refresh is intriguing, especially considering that Capcom historically redesigned the site to coincide with anniversaries. However, the 35th anniversary deviated from this tradition without an overhaul. With Rockman X's 30th anniversary fast approach, perhaps this was the opportune moment.

And THAT'S exactly the mindless shilling I was expecting. Just ignore the problems, bro. It doesn't matter that it started as a gacha scam. It doesn't matter that it plays nothing like a Mega Man X game with cooldowns and other crap. It doesn't matter that they censored Roll when it went global. It doesn't matter that some of the reported bugs were left in. It doesn't matter that the translation is full of typos and doesn't make sense. It doesn't matter that they made NFTs. Like that anon thinking making ridiculous excuses for this trash is not shilling and when pointed out cried about it like the fiercely unintelligent idiot that he is. If anything, businesses have always been based in "troll logic" to function using things, like, you guessed it, shilling. By the way, remember the new game announcement at Tokyo Game Show? Me neither, lmao.

    14. Censored Roll from what? What could Roll possibly do to get censored and whatever it is, why would that be a problem? If anything, the complaint should be that Roll was involved with something that could be censored to begin with. Unless we are talking about her repping a religious symbol or something like that. Even then though I don't know why Roll of all things would be needed to rep religious, social or whatnot causes, since that is so divorced from the series, settings, lore and the characters.

    15. @anon they censored the swim suit with a summer dress. The original one wasn't more revealing than a regular kid's swim suit in real life, but I can totally see why they did it.

Nothing awkward about that. If Swimsuit Roll(a fictional character) bothers you, then that says more about you than it does about be. You can't discern fiction from reality.

    4. Only delusional jaded morons blinded by hate would even think that Capcom doesn't care about the franchise at all. If they didn't, MM11 wouldn't exist, the Legacy Collections wouldn't exist, X DiVE Offline wouldn't exist, various recent Mega Man crossovers and promotions wouldn't exist, that recent small little VR game in Japan wouldn't exist, the merch, figures, and model kits wouldn't exist, and they definitely wouldn't be bothering to update the website. Mega Man may not be anywhere close to Capcom's biggest franchise, but it's outright idiotic to act like they don't care at all.

    5. They care enough to milk it for every last penny, sure. You want proof? $40 dollars for a black hat with white text on it. How about $60 for a t-shirt? How about HUNDREDS of dollars for a chance (a tiny chance) to get your digital waifu outfit, then after spending said hundreds of dollars, losing all that investment whilst screaming to the rooftop about said game being released for another $30 dollars?

      And the critics are stupid.

    6. Scratch that: $50 for a black hat with white text on it.

      A. It's a non canon mess of a story.
      B. It's a smartphone game that was then ported to pc and then was modified from its original version with an incomplete translation.
To put this on the page next to full-fledged console and portable games is beyond laughable, it's an insult to their loyal fans. It's as much of a game as the Intellivision Amico is a console.

      Delete
    3. Yeah it's the latest game, and it's also surprisingly good and popular, so it only makes sense to advertise it. Honestly all these haters confuse me. Do you want new games like MM12, X9, and Legends 3? Because games these days take longer and are more expensive to make than ever. Promotion like this is an absolute must for the IP to stay active and games like that to get made. Crying and screaming about everything that's not exactly the game you want doesn't make you the based gigachads you seem to think you are, you're just spoiled rotten man children crying about getting different toys for Christmas than the ones you asked for. If you want something legitimate to complain about, complain about Capcom updating their games with new DRM specifically to shut down modding, not X DiVE Offline.

    4. Honestly all these copers confuse me. Good? Whatever helps you sleep at night. Popular? According to steamdb Gems of War had a 3,007 all-time player peak 3 years ago with 1,407 players right now and that's not a popular game nor franchise. Dive on the other hand had a 1,676 all-time player peak 3 months ago with 31 players. It's not ANYWHERE near popular as you want to lie to yourself and others about. You're the spoiled rotten child that already used the "it doesn't make you the based gigachads" trash cope, come up with something new. Promotion like this is an absolute must? Since when and according to who? Completely childish and delusional. All kinds of merchandise and side media already exists or did the model kits, fully charged and all the manga not exist now. Advertise it, yes, but pretending it is the same as the fully-developed games like they are advertising it is being beyond disingenuous.

    5. Time to put an end to the "I-It's p-popular g-guys!" cope:

Fallout Shelter: 42,656 peak 7 years ago, 1,661 24-hour peak, 1,532 players right now. <---THIS is popular for an American gacha.
DEAD OR ALIVE Xtreme Venus Vacation: 11,284 peak 8 years ago, 5,620 24-hour peak, 1,299 players right now. <--- Popular for a Japanese gacha.
BLEACH Brave Souls - 3D Action: 8,166 peak 8 months ago, 2,796 24-hour peak, 2,131 players right now.
Onmyoji: 4,978 peak 2 years ago, 1,760 24-hour peak, 550 right now. <--- Chinese gacha.
100% Orange Juice: 3,860 peak 4 years ago, 188 24-hour peak, 99 right now. <--- The developers are humble enough to use in-game currency only that's earned by playing and not real currency. Also, it's 3.99 compared to 29.99 of Dive.
SUPER DRAGON BALL HEROES WORLD MISSION: 1,970 peak 5 years ago, 56 24-hour peak, 40 right now.
MEGA MAN X DiVE Offline: 1,676 peak 3 months ago, 53 24-hour peak, 31 right now.
And this are the stats for the former online version of Dive:
Mega Man X DiVE: 816 peak 2 years ago, 2 24-hour peak, 0 right now.
      Wahahahahahaha.

All from SteamDB, don't ever try that lie again.

      Delete
    6. And this is not even factoring in non-steam pc gacha like Genshin Impact and others. Just imagine the statistics.

      Delete
    7. Your problem is that you're comparing X DiVE Offline to gacha. I assume this is because the original X Dive is a gacha, but there's a serious flaw in your argument. X DiVE Offline isn't a gacha. The gacha mechanics and grinding were removed in favor of an up front purchase business model.

As such, X DiVE Offline isn't going to compare to gacha sales because it's not one. Let's do the proper comparison and compare it to other similar Mega Man games on Steam:

X DiVE Offline: 1676 peak 3 months ago, 81% favorability from reviews right now
Mega Man 11: 1629 peak 5 years ago, 87% favorability from reviews right now
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1: 990 peak 5 years ago, 75% favorability from reviews right now
Zero/ZX Legacy Collection: 808 peak 4 years ago, 76% favorability from reviews right now
Mega Man Legacy Collection: 484 8 years ago, 83% favorability from reviews right now
Mega Man Legacy Collection 2: 184 peak 6 years ago, 82% from reviews right now

The black sheep in the room is the Battle Network games, which are insanely popular above and beyond anything else in the franchise on Steam. X DiVE Offline however is otherwise performing VERY well for a Mega Man game, and is severely outperforming the Steam specific statistics of the original DiVE. So yes, it is actually good and popular going by the standards of a Mega Man game on Steam, and your insistence to call that a "lie" by comparing it to a genre that it's not even part of that is known for high player counts and sales is disingenuous at best. The fact of the matter is that X DiVE Offline has the highest peak player count out of anything in the franchise on steam that isn't Battle Network and is trending towards the top of the franchise review scores as well. You can cope, seeth, and mald over it all you want but the facts won't change. The game is good and people are enjoying it, and it even has something of a modding community via the Nexus site and Discord.

      Delete
    8. You know perfectly well why it was compared to other gacha, but for those like you that are disingenuous or stupid or slow or all it's because the game was derived from a gacha which primary goal was to have a high active player count while being simultaneously developed. A limited event software which Offline is benefitting from. Comparing it to other gacha is being fairer than comparing it to non-gacha otherwise with a proper comparison the difference in numbers sky rocket, like with Cyberpunk 2077 with a 1,054,388 peak or Elden Ring with a 953,426 peak. Before you cry about them having multiplayer and not being single player only, Horizon Zero Dawn The Complete Edition had a 56,557 peak and Hades had a 37,749 peak compared to 1,676 of Offline, all of them being Action RPGs. The player base of Offline is composed of former players of the online version plus the new players. You think a slight boost of 800 players suddenly makes it popular? Lmao, it's popular in the same sense a board game played by 5 people is only liked by 3 and only those 3 continue playing while there are thousands of games with thousands or millions of dedicated players out there like chess. Keep in mind there are 3.09 billion players approximately in the world in 2023 according to Exploding Topics(!!!). Also, you can't compare it to the other Mega Man games because the main target for them are the consoles with the Switch having the highest player base and pc having the lowest when comparing sales of the different platforms of past titles, and the only way to play this that's not mobile is through the pc. What's the player base for the PS4 version? Right, ZERO. Considering there are no exact statistics for the mobile version you are gonna have to deal with the SteamDB statistics.

"performing VERY well for a Mega Man game" That's exactly where the cope lies, it isn't popular not even for a Mega Man game. A slight boost of 800 players from the online version is nothing.
Ratings can never be taken seriously be it games or movies specially when it's not known how many players in total it has and a lot of players don't rate. The amount of ratings alone between one of the previously mentioned non-Mega Man games and Offline should also be factored in if you are going to consider ratings at all. All that matters are the sales and player base.
Having a modding community doesn't mean it's popular considering the amount of indie and unpopular AAA games like this that have them.
You can cope, seethe, mald and rope over it all you want but the facts won't change. The game has a good number of design flaws to consider it "good" and only a niche number of people enjoy it. Deal with it.

    9. Literally everything you just said is disingenuous cope. For instance, you claim it only gained 800 players from the Online version. This is entirely, 100% made up in your head because you're entirely omitting the fact that both versions are available on mobile devices, and not exclusively on Steam. It's already been reported on, even here at Rockman Corner, that the Online version of DiVE did very well for Capcom and that the end of service was pre-determined. The thing was a massive cash cow, it just didn't convince many people to migrate to the Steam version from mobile/bluestacks, and that's likely at least in part due to the fact that the Steam version wasn't available worldwide but only in certain select countries. For instance, it never became available to the UK.

The fact that Offline is doing so much better not just in comparison to the previous Steam version but in comparison to most of the rest of the franchise is in and of itself a very obvious indication of it being well received, and that doesn't even get into the reviews, both on Steam and places like Youtube, which are generally very positive and have even more positive reception in the comments. Of course, your copium ingestion is at such lethal levels that you disregard all of this positive reception entirely for the sake of your "lol the game's actually unpopular" narrative.

And again, the game isn't a gacha. The original version of DiVE was, but Offline does not have Gacha mechanics. A previous version of a game being part of a genre does not automatically include altered versions of the product in that genre. There are no microtransactions, no premium currency, no random drops, nothing of the sort. The game was entirely restructured very specifically to not be a gacha title anymore for the Offline release, so to continue to insist it's a gacha despite literally not having gacha mechanics at all in any way is ignorant at best and out right deliberate misinformation at worst. The very fact that it's not a gacha game anymore is a big part of the reason for the positive reception it's getting, with the common sentiment flying around that now that the gacha garbage has been removed the rest of the game design is now much more enjoyable.

The game is good, it's popular, it's well received, it's reviewing positively, and is clearly doing well enough between both Steam and Mobile that Capcom is willing to put it on the front of the official franchise website instead of sweeping it under the rug, but of course you're one of those morons who's delusional and jaded to the point of making whatever mental gymnastics you need to make anything and everything Capcom puts out look bad, because... I don't know, Capcom broke into your house, crapped on the carpet, hit the griddy, and then rocketed through the roof? I can't imagine any other reason why your worldview would be so far removed from reality and even basic reason.

    10. SteamDB is for the total of simultaneously active players every 24 hours and doesn't give an accurate count of total players or sales. Meanwhile, PlayTracker while not perfect, does give an overall player count. The active player count in PlayTracker instead works by showing how many players have last played the game recently (2 weeks). The difference would be, for example, that while SteamDB marks 1676 active players that would be for a particular day during the entire game's lifespan. On the other hand, when PlayTracker marks 1676 active players that would be the total for the last 2 weeks from now.
A more accurate list would be:

Mega Man Legacy Collection: 2.7M estimated players, 168K estimated active players
Mega Man 11: 568K estimated players, 57K estimated active players
Mega Man X Legacy Collection: 559K estimated players, 68K estimated active players
Mega Man Legacy Collection 2: 428K estimated players, 25K estimated active players
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2: 305K estimated players, 28K estimated active players
Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection: 236K estimated players, 32K estimated active players
MEGA MAN X DiVE Offline: 17K estimated players, 2K estimated active players with 78% played and 10% active.

In comparison with the rest Dive Offline is not popular at all.
According to this article: https://www.rockman-corner.com/2021/05/an-analysis-of-game-sales-from-mega-man.html. No, switch doesn't always have the highest player base and pc doesn't have the lowest. 11 performed the best on switch and the worst on xbox. LC performed the best on pc and the worst on ps4. LC 2 performed the best on xbox and the worst on ps4. X LC performed the best on switch and the worst on xbox. X LC 2 performed the best on ps4 and the worst on xbox. I mean talk about losing the plot. Please Tell me the Capcom game that had a higher player peak than freaken Cyberpunk and Elden Ring? This is some clownishness. Oh wait Mortal Kombat 11 had a peak player count of 35,147 must mean they had comparable success to Hades oh wait MK11 sold like 8 times better than Hades. Sit down man, no one is taking your arguments serious.

      Delete
    12. ^LOL you missed the fact that that was exactly my point to NOT compare it to the other Mega Man titles because those games were released in different platforms with higher budgets which causes fluctuations in numbers as well as invite other parameters and only compare it to other gacha because non-gacha titles would obviously crush it. The ONLY other title that went from gacha to non-gacha on Steam is Marvel Puzzle Quest with 1.1M estimated players, 22K estimated active players according to PlayTracker and with a 3,002 peak 10 years ago according to SteamDB so EVEN in that category it got absolutely destroyed. Of course the other disingenuous idiot ignored the numbers because it went against his popular narrative and he's going to ignore the PlayTracker numbers as well because his levels of copium are that lethal after all. Can't even understand that 800 was an approximate because he's that slow of a moron. For someone that is claiming not to take the arguments seriously not only you did in that very comment but sounded really mad too, lmao.

    16. Wow, you really HATE X Dive.
I honestly like the game, not enough to buy it for $30, but I've tried it and for sure I would pay $20 for it. It is a fun semi-casual action platformer. I liked the first weeks of X Dive online (when they gifted a lot of things as bait), but quickly stopped playing when the game was clearly more about buying things and grinding every morning. X Dive Offline made it fun for me again. Capcom sucks, but honestly I enjoy X Dive more than, say, Mega Man 10. Classic Mega Man was never my thing, 2007 was the last year Capcom released a game in the franchise that I cared to finish. X Dive changed that. It's mediocre, but it has been the most fun Capcom had gave me in more than a decade.

Oh you mean like when Mega Man was getting highly experimental games like Legends and Battle Network back in the day, and you had many putting down those efforts in comparison to Zelda and Pokemon ON MEGA MAN SITES? Worse off they pretend Capcom neglected Legends, forgetting that not only did fans neglect Legends but straight up put it down prior. Or how when Heatman notified people about a poll for a Nintendo shop bringing either Earthbound or Mega Man 7 to it, and encouraged Mega Man fans to vote for Mega Man and you had people straight up going against Heatman and stating they'd vote for Earthbound instead, ON A MEGA MAN SITE?

You people find it more fun to roast Mega Man's shortcomings than to promote it's appeals. What is the point of roasting X7 and such for as long as you people do? Does that help anything? What can Capcom draw from that, what can they learn? Even when they lean toward the right direction and attempt to course correct with the very next entry yall STILL feel the need to go back and roast, never actually communicating constructively, or rewarding positive effort. Even the stuff you praise is often times off-putting. To a layman that knows nothing about the franchise, they probably think it has 2 good games that are ancient, it being an unsuccessful trend chaser and the "worst game known to man" in "X7". Contrast that with Sonic which actually has unbelievably broken games yet STILL has fans rewarding the general franchise constructively.

I also find it funny how you guys feel so jaded by the attention Street Fighter and Monster Hunter is getting, when there was a time Mega Man was getting SIX GAMES A YEAR... Six games a year man... Spanning different genres and even cameos in other games/media like Boktai, Duel Masters, Onimusha Blade warriors etc. At a time when Street Fighter had NOTHING... Nothing...... And Street Fighter prior to this was THE MOST SUCCESSFUL CAPCOM FRANCHISE. And Monster Hunter was a below average received and average selling game that no one thought would go anywhere. Gosh man.. You guys are so lacking in selfawareness... If I'm the entity known as Capcom, from my vantage point you people deserve nothing. Especially now when you try to frame it like Capcom is the ultimate villain. I love Mega Man and I would love to see it continue but not as a reward to the general at least vocal Mega Man community.

My point exactly and that Dive is even less popular contrary to what others here wrote. Offline for a mobile ex-gacha port ain't doing that well to the point they added a free demo just now. I guess Online must have at least covered the costs to make a port, right? RIGHT? But then again the only data available is that it had a million downloads on the Playstore. However, that doesn't show how many players were active during a certain period of time. It also doesn't tell how many players payed for microtransactions and of those players, how much exactly. Google doesn't pay for downloads. A company can monetize through other means though: Ads, In-App Purchases, etc. Source: Answered in a question asked at the Quora website by a software engineer. Without providing any numbers, any claim including Capcom's is pure speculation.

Outside of that the game, in terms of sales, takes the L when compared to other PC Steam gacha, it takes the L when compared to other non-gacha, it takes the L when compared to the only other gacha turned into non-gacha and finally, it takes the L when compared to the fully-developed games. It's almost impressive if it wasn't so sad. The only thing that has going for it is that 1676 players played it(in total not simultaneously) in a period of 24 hours, 3 months ago and that's nothing specially for a former online app which should have a much more active and bigger player base plus those that no longer emulate it in BlueStacks plus brand new players. Popular this is not, not even close. No, I don't care about the franchise shortcomings just that this thing should have never been made. By the way, you need new material. I'd write that you need to read a book as soon as possible but your smartphone fried brain and single neuron won't be able to handle it so I'll write that you read a pamphlet instead. Also, Mark I never stated that popular equals morally good or well-made. In fact, I agree that popular doesn't mean something is good just that this particular piece of software isn't popular. THE END.
