Kotobukiya to Reveal New Model Kit Info in December Event

After unveiling the final mold and paint job of the Roll.EXE model kit a few days ago, Kotobukiya has a delightful surprise in store for attendees at the 61st edition of the All Japan Model and Hobby Show, happening this weekend at the Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center.

Find all the details after the break!

A small flayer it's on display at Kotobukiya's both with the phrase: 12月ロックマンイベントにて 新作公開予定! which can be roughly translated as "New release scheduled for the December Rockman event!" or alternatively as "At the December Rockman event, New release scheduled!"

Back in May, Kotobukiya had informed us that they would unveil more details about the Rockman X model kit line during an event commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Rockman X series and the 5th anniversary of the Kotobukiya Rockman X line. Both of these significant milestones are set to be celebrated on December 17th.

Now, it appears that this event will not only provide updates on the Rockman X model kit line but will also cover other model kit lines. The event has been rebranded as a general Rockman event rather than exclusively focusing on Rockman X.

As a reminder Kotobukiya, has yet to reveal the release date of Roll.EXE, the final paint job and release dates for Falcon Armor X and Axl respectively. Third Armor X Triad Thunder Ver. and Black Zero also haven't been shown yet either. The Mega Man Mega Man 11 ver. model kit will be released in November.

Indeed, this event promises to unveil exciting new information about various model kits and may even have some surprises! Stay tuned for updates!

  1. I can't wait for this! Hoping for a good handful of announcements!

    1. Hoping for either Alia, Iris or Ultimate Armor X (ripe for reskins). Sigma is a long shot, but would take that too.

    2. On second thought... They can skip Iris. They can't do hair right. Roll.EXE's hair is fucking flat and it STILL is hollow molded. Iris would not turn out well. Unless Koto figures out how to NOT do that.

    3. Is it really that difficult for them to put pegs and holes on two hair pieces so they fit together? It seems like a pretty easy fix...

    4. Definitely with you on the Ultimate Armor. Such an easy way for them to do multiple releases.

    5. The AC Ultimate Armor's color scheme is pretty nice. It's actually become my favorite, with the original X4 being close 2nd.

  2. I'm hoping they do a X1 Zero or Vile from X1, X3 and Bit from X3, Maybe even the X hunters from X2. Ultimate Armor is definitely welcome as well since I'm not the biggest 4th armor fan. I just recently built my first Koto X series kit and was pretty impressed by the quality.

  3. It would be cool if they would do a Bass model kit or some robot masters from the original series, Legends Mega Man would be pretty cool too.

    1. I'd love a random surprise like Bass with Treble Boost

  4. Must not cost to much for what it is because the line continues lol. No fan base eats it words more I swear.

  6. Imagine if they do something silly out of nowhere, like the Glide Armor.
It would be cool if they do Sigma, though.

    1. I like the Glide Armor. It's power set sucks, but it looks cool.

    1. I definitely would want a X1 Zero, Vile from X3, Bit and Byte from X3, the X Hunters from X2, plus a Ultimate Armor from X4. Even though I’m not really into Battle Network I’d buy a Protoman or Bass from that series. Would also really like a original series Bass and some robot masters. I even wouldn’t mind some Legends characters later on. After building a couple Kotobukiya X series kits recently, I’m honestly hooked.

  8. I wish they would consider doing figures of the Maverick bosses. I know their designs are complicated from an artistic standpoint, but it's money I'd willingly spend if it happened.

    1. Some robot masters from the original Mega Man series would be cool too, there is a huge lack of any enemy figures in general for modern Mega Man and X stuff.

    2. I agree. Mega Man and company don't exist in a vacuum, yet it's always the same characters who get figures 98% of the time. We'll be lucky if we someone other than Mega Man, X, or Zero get one. I want to see Spark Mandrill, Crystal Snail, Neon Tiger, Crescent Grizzly, and quite a few others get some love already.

    3. Some enemies from original and X would be great, I’d even really like to
see some of the out there stuff like Mega Missions eventually.

  9. I know this won't happen but I would love some models from the Zero series, or just a rerelease/remold of Zero.

But for X series stuff I hope we get my favorite maverick, Vile (or VAVA whatever ya'll prefer). Dynamo would be cool too.

    1. The Zero series figures are what end Mega Man figure lines in general, they just don't sell compared to the other versions.

    2. You get around that by lowering the quantity produced and raising the price. Limited runs and/or crowdfunding. Like Haslab. That would work.
I'd pay for that. BUT they seriously need to rework the mold on Zero. And make it to scale, for once.

Not one of the four series (or the three that matter) are to scale with the others. Not one.

    3. I’d rather they don’t go the premium Bandai route at all, it enables scalping which is already a big enough problem when it comes to collecting Mega Man stuff since Mega Man scalpers are now a thing and because of that It’s become a major pain to buy most of it now. I get that there’s fans of the Zero series but how many lines have tried it and basically tanked right after? We have D-Arts, X plus jumbo figures, the original run of Kotobukiya kits from 10+ years ago. I’d rather they focus on the series they are doing now and not have the line tank again.

    4. So... you prefer nothing ever get made rather than a limited edition get made to meet the demand of the limited customer base who will buy them. That makes all the sense in the world.
Forget scalping. That's never going away.

    5. Oh, and Bandai Premium does re-issues. Don't want a scalp? Bide your time. You never know when a reissue is coming.

    6. I'm specifically talking about Mega Man scalpers which are now a thing.
