Next Major Mega Man Game Still in Development, Says Tsuchiya

Echoing a statement made earlier this year, Mega Man series producer Kazuhiro Tsuchyia assured Japanese gaming outlet Gamer that the next major Mega Man title is indeed in development. Here's the relevant portion from Gamer's interview:

4Gamer: "What can you tell us about the next game to be developed? The most recent game - Mega Man 11 - was amazing, and we [4Gamer] are expecting the revival of the Star Force series. Personally I would like to see the Command Mission saga to be brought back. (laughs)"

Tsuchiya: "I see (laughs). There are a lot of titles I personally want to work on, but to tell the truth the next game to be developed has already been decided on, I'd just like to keep the specific details hidden for the moment. Please wait until we make an announcement. Still, I think that the there's no such thing as a spin-off in the Mega Man series, every saga is a main series on its own. When speaking of "Mega Man", there will always be people who think of "X", as well as people who think of "EXE", and I think that's why each one's concept of what Mega Man is changes depending on the generation. For that reason, we don't want to deny any series of its future."

Although Tsuchiya did not specify what game is in development, it's interesting to note that he recognizes fans have a very broad definition of who or what "Mega Man" is. He's coy about it, but this is Tsuchiya's way of saying that, really, nothing is off limits. I don't think it's a stretch to say that there may yet be new entries from not just Classic and X, but Battle Network, Zero, ZX, Legends and Star Force as well.

Might I also add, earlier in 4Gamer's interview, Tsuchiya also said Capcom are "planning on extending the Mega Man brand at least over 10 or 20 more years by giving it constant stimulation, that way we'll be able to experience new titles alongside new player." Needless to say, Mega Man's future is very bright. We're exciting to see what lies ahead!

Rockman X DiVE Datamine Unearths Four More Playable Characters

Now that the closed beta trial is live, it was only a matter of time before fans started digging into Rockman X DiVE's code for any hidden goodies. Sure enough, we found evidence of four unannounced playable characters: Black Zero, Steel Massimo, Second Armor X, and Cinnamon. Full resolution of these images can be found right here.

These characters are NOT playable in the closed beta. However, the existence of both portrait and full-body artwork heavily implies that they will be in the final game. Hurray!

Once again, I'm inclined to remind you that there is no set number of characters for the final game's roster. As a matter of fact, these images follow a strict three-digit designation. For example, Palette is "ch_013" and the copy Zero is "ch_026". That's thirteen unknown characters between them with the possibility of +100 different characters overall.

Rockman X DiVE is designed with longevity in mind – many characters are expected to appear over the next several months to years (if the game is fortunate enough to last that long). And remember:  Capcom Taiwan are taking requests, too. You never know who we'll see next!

  • Players that encounter bugs or glitches can send an error report directly to Capcom Taiwan here.

And that's that! Remember, this will not be the ONLY beta test. Their will be a public, open beta in the near future. Hopefully that will be open to iOS users. We should know more on that subject soon. For now, have fun and enjoy!

Mega Man Grandista Figure Pre-Orders Are Live on BBTS

Hot on the heels of the leaked Hpoi listing, Big Bad Toystore have begun accepting pre-orders for the Grandista Mega Man figure. You can grab it here for a cool $37.99 USD.

According to the BBTS product description, this non-articulated figure stands at 23cm tall or roughly 9.10 inches. Perfect display size, right? And that's exactly what this is for. No additional accessories, fancy light or sound effects. It's a display figure through and through. That's by no means a bad thing, but do take to heart what this is before you buy.

Replica First Armor X-Buster is Now Available! Here's a Review From Zero

Jakks Pacific's anticipated First Armor X-Buster (or as they call it, the "Light Buster") is now available exclusively from GameStop. But is it worth the $79.99 price tag? How does it stack up to the other officially-licensed Busters from years past? Here's Zero (i.e Vinny Bolt) with a review!

Decked out in his charming Zero cosplay, Vinny shows off the ins-and-outs of the X-Buster. From the looks of it, Jakks Pacific pulled off an admirable interpretation of this iconic Buster. And, man, the SNES sound effects are, well, they sound great. Vinny certainly seems to enjoy it.

If you like what you see (and hear), head over to your local GameStop and pick one up! It's also available online right here.

Rockman Ability Music & Vocal Track Samples/Details

We're rapidly approaching the one year anniversary of Pachislot Rockman Ability: September 18th, 2019. With rumors of a possible mobile port in the works (read about that here) we're still hopeful that developer Enterrise and Capcom will choose to release an official Soundtrack and art book for this game.  Per tradition, Enterrise have released soundtracks for previous pachislot titles they've developed, so it's not outside the realms of possibility.

Until that happens, however, we've managed to capture the "bonus vocal themes" for you to enjoy as well as some details on the game's soundtrack itself after the jump.

REMASTERED TRACKS ROCKMAN ZERO: Physis Booklet Translation

Released on September 30th, 2005, REMASTERED TRACKS ROCKMAN ZERO Physis is the final remixed soundtrack Inti Creates published that focused solely on one game. Case in point, Rockman Zero 4.

This soundtrack was initially released with a calendar and a booklet called "Vile's Incident: Eden dome, its sin and rebirth", a small booklet with a recap of the events from Mega Man Zero 3 and 4 and a small epilogue set two years after the conclusion of the series. This booklet has been translated already and is available here. However, we will focus on the previously untranslated soundtrack booklet. It contains liner notes, musicians profiles and a small paragraph explaining the meaning of the titular word "Physis".

You can find the full translation (courtesy of Sidier) after the break!
