Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 Physical Edition & Double Pack (Switch) Announced

Limited Run Games and Capcom are teaming up to bring Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 to Nintendo Switch in physical form, eight years after its original release. Previously, the collection was only available as a standalone cartridge in Japan.

Three editions are currently available for pre-order:

Pre-orders are open from November 12th until January 3rd, 2027 at 11:59 PM EST. No shipping date has been announced yet.

As with most Limited Run Games releases, there's no purchase limit. So if you want to pick up multiple copies or editions in one fell swoop, go for it.

  1. Interesting choice to use Vile's X3 logo as a patch and not something more well-known, like Sigma's. I do like that little Light Capsule though

  2. Why why does it always have to be them??? Look at there track record. What Josh & Doug and others did to screw up that company. Limited Run is terrible for anything. I did a lot of research on them too. And the pre orders last that long? So they get to hold money collecting interest that long. There quality on products aren't good either. Just youtube Limited Runs problems over the years too. Josh left Limited Run this year too. Doug long ago. Why does anyone trust them anymore? I used to many many years ago and then everything fell apart.

I love Mega Man and this is a great idea. But at least use someone else besides them for once!

    1. I see what you mean. Last year, I ordered the Standard Edition version of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance the following month after it had already been released, and yet it still over a month for it to actually be delivered to me. I can almost guarantee that if I hadn't brought this up on their YouTube page, I'd probably still be waiting for it so this day.

With that said, I have to wonder why it took so long for a physical version of X Legacy Collection 2 to be made. I have no idea why they couldn't have just done that from the start, but I digress. With any luck, they'll also do the same for Mega Man Legacy Collection 2, which also had a strangely limited Switch 1 release.

  4. I appreciate Legacy Collection 2 being on a physical cartridge but I feel like, we as a society forgot about the video game bargain bin as a concept.

  5. I already got LC2 on disc for PS4, but that Maverick Hunter Edition is sure tempting me to buy it again.

  6. I refuse to give Limited Run Games any money after they delayed and botched my last two pre-orders. Terrible service
