Capcom Updates Mega Man: Dual Override Site with More Details

Capcom has updated the official Mega Man: Dual Override website with some new details, screenshots and art. Among the updates are a few hints about Proto Man's playstyle, a glimpse of Mega Man in his casual attire, and some preliminary details on the new Custom Chip System.

First up, a few small details on Proto Man. Capcom's press release confirms that "alongside the Blue Bomber, Proto Man is returning as a playable character. The wandering warrior possesses his own unique abilities, giving players more choice in how to tackle challenges with two distinct playstyles."

The official site goes a little further, suggesting that Proto Man will be able to use his shield for a variety of attacks. Interestingly, though, the shield is nowhere to be seen in his official artwork.

We also get a glimpse of Mega Man in his casual attire, possibly from a cutscene. The accompanying story synopsis is the same one released earlier today, with no additional details.

Next up are some additional details on the Custom Chip System, which, alongside Override, appears to be replacing Mega Man 11's Double Gear System.

Capcom's official press release offers a little more insight: "Install Custom Chips with a brand-new personalization system! Players can enhance Mega Man and Proto Man with additional abilities to freely tailor their playstyles. Equip power-ups like rapid-fire, a protective shield bubble, hover, and more. Experiment with new chip combinations and discover strategies that are uniquely your own."

We also get an additional screenshot of Mega Man facing off against Twinkle Girl. Capcom's press release provides a little more detail on the new Robot Master: "One of eight new Robot Masters, the energetic Twinkle Girl bursts into the battle, setting the stage alight with dazzling firework-themed attacks. As always, players can look forward to analyzing and converting the abilities of defeated Robot Masters into powerful special weapons."

Finally, Capcom is very clearly teasing the return of more past Robot Masters beyond Astro Man. Its press release states: "In the trailer, a Robot Master longtime fans may recognize as Astro Man from Mega Man 8™ flew into frame! Will other classic Robot Masters return for this adventure? Stay tuned for more details!"

Between that wording and Astro Man's return, it certainly sounds like he won't be the only familiar face coming back.
