Following yesterday’s tease, McDonald’s Japan has officially lifted the lid on its Rockman collaboration, promoting premium iced coffee just in time for the summer season. And there may be no better way to do that than by bringing back “Can't Beat Air Man", the popular song set to a special video produced in partnership with Team.Nekokan and Capcom.
Unfortunately, the video is region-locked on Twitter, but I’ve taken the liberty of reuploading it to YouTube... at least until the copyright strikes come knocking.
The collaboration also reaches the Japanese McDonald’s Rewards app, where users can exchange points for three mobile wallpapers: one based on Dual Override, one featuring Star Force Legacy Collection, and a simpler 8-bit piece starring Rockman and Dr. Wily titled "Road to 40", honoring the impending 40th anniversary of the franchise.

that weird feeling when you realized you haven't heard a song in 15 years
ReplyDeleteCan't say I'm big on iced coffee, but I could use those wallpapers.
ReplyDeleteCute. I had wondered if they would do anything else but, maybe they'll wait for the 40th to do anything
ReplyDeleteOne of the saddest realities of Mega Man being a 40-year old franchise: being used in advertising aimed at 30-40 year olds... (not that I would want another Happy Meal toy line)
