This version runs natively on Windows and supports both the original Japanese release and the English fan translation. More importantly, it delivers stability the game never really had: a locked 15fps, uninterrupted music and audio, and clean native upscaling from 1x resolution.
To get the game up and running, you'll need to obtain the original Japanese i-αppli game files for Phantom of Network from SciLab Secrets. Follow the instructions on GitHub closely and you'll be all set in no time.

I cannot say much for other communities, as I am only into Mega Man, but the Blue Bomber fans seem to be the most dedicated fanbase I have ever seen. Kudos to all people involved.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the game itself, if you like MMBN, this game and its sequence are a must. It is a bit janky, as its original platform base were old cellphones, but it lives up to its GBA counterparts. In fact, once I finished Legend of Network, I got a sad nostalgia feeling, because this entry reminded me of all the experience I had with this series in my teenagerhood and also made me realize games like this will probably never exist again.
"Mega Man! All the action you need."
DeleteI think the only game centric fandom a step above is Sonic. They created an entire decompile tool for xbox360 (that didn't exist before) just to get Sonic unleashed on PC.
DeleteThis is awesome! Hope we get a Mac version too!
ReplyDeleteI swear, sometimes it seems like every week there's a new hidden megaman game i never knew about that got ported to a modern platform
