Kotobukiya has revealed a "Premium Charge Shot" version of Rockman.EXE, a irridescent redeco of the original 2022 kit.
This new version, slated as a Koto Shop exclusive in Japan, features shiny, polarized plating andcolors to replicate Rockman.EXE charging his buster. The Sword and slashing effect parts have been updated to resemble the Dream Sword Program Advance from the games, too. You can see what that looks like below!
The kit is slated to begin distribution this December in Japan. A U.S version has not been announced at this time. We'll keep an ear to the ground for updates! Update: Big Bad Toystore has pulled through! The U.S version is now available to pre-order, anticipated to ship in January 2025
dang already bought regulat exe
ReplyDeleteMore Koto shop exclusive fomo, yay. On the upside at least it looks like it has the same accessories as the original release so no one is really missing out.
ReplyDeleteregulat lol
ReplyDeletewats your problem
DeleteRegulat is a funny typo. What's YOUR problem?
DeleteThis is all well and good, but I still want to know what that weird silhouette was at the Kotobukiya showcase awhile ago
ReplyDeleteI’m also wanting to know what it is.
DeleteSame OP, but I just had a thought. It may get featured in that new show Secret Level. I hope it's more than that, but who knows
DeleteIt's kinda of weird that they haven't even revealed what it is by now when it was shown several months ago.
DeleteYo. This cool.
ReplyDeleteI'll pass. I don't need "premium" colors. I don't have any of the other ones.
ReplyDeleteEspecially when it's easier to just get the regular kit and some metallic paint and paint it for less.
DeleteI appreciate that, for once, Kotobukiya is actually giving us product photos of an unpainted kit, so if I wanted to buy this (and I don't) I actually know what the final out-of-box build would look like. That swirly gold plastic is ... not nice.
ReplyDeleteI get all of these kits, because while it's one thing to unbox a pricey statue in a matter of minutes and throwing it on a shelf for years, the process of putting these together (playing the game's soundtrack is a tradition of mine) is just as enjoyable for me as looking as the finished product.
ReplyDeleteThat's understandable, I enjoy building model kits myself but I just don't feel the value is there with the koto kits since they keep raising the price with each new release. I do hope the line continues though for those that enjoy them. I could get a Master Grade Gundam kit for less than what the Koto Mega Man's cost and have a kit with a ton more accessories.
DeleteNot only would you get a more accessories with an MG, but better design and engineering. I think these Rockman kits are the equivalent of an HG in terms of design, complexity, and color-separation, but they're 3x-4x the cost of HG. The first 4 Rockman kits were $30-$40, and these newer X kits are not twice as good.
Delete"Kotobukiya is a small company!" they'll say, but a 15-billion-dollar company isn't small. Koto is just greedy.
""Kotobukiya is a small company!" they'll say, but a 15-billion-dollar company isn't small. Koto is just greedy."
DeleteComparing Koto to Bandai... Koto is small. Great job taking that out of context.
You keep comparing Koto Rockman to Bandai Gundam.
Try comparing Koto Rockman to Bandai Rockman.
Super Mini-Pla Ride Armors came out at $40. They were cheap, "HG" quality and didn't even offer a full display without a seperate figurine. That's more expensive than an HG model Gundam. They also had the "optional part" thing that requires purchasing multiple models. That thing people complain Koto does.
SMP Heat Guts and Wood Style are sold for $144.99 at BBTS (that's $72.50 a piece) which is just about the same price as this Koto Premium Rockman.exe of $74.99 at BBTS, which is nearly twice the size as the SMP and looks better...
The other four SMP kits at $108.75 for a set of 4, which is $27.19 average on HLJ. HLJ sold Koto Rockman.EXE at $50.42. Taking into account SMP is about half the size as Koto, $50.42/2 = $25.21.
That's... a pretty fair comparison, don't you think? So, Koto isn't "greedy" by your terms, they are quite fair if you actually bother to do the math.
The rest, well thats just your preference.
Literally EVERY toy company compared to Bandai is "small," Bandai being the world's largest toy company.
DeleteUsing BBTS prices isn't a level playing field, as their import prices are all over the place. I think a more "fair" comparison (if you're really concerned with that) with regards to scale and accessories would be Hexa Gear compared to SMP, as they are priced in Japan. So you can get a governor for the equivalent of US$20-$25, or 4 Rockman.EXE figures US$25 each in Japan. That's basically the same. If we're looking for other comparable scale model kits from Koto to compare to HG: we can use Frame Arms, which are, $60-$80. Even if we up it to Frame Arms vs. MG: MG is the better value.
Koto offered the initial Rockman kits for half what they are asking for these X kits. That's the most fair comparison: Koto Rockman vs. Koto Rockman. Roll was basically two model kits in one for under the equivalent of US$40 in Japan.
Eastern Model's Zero: lights-up, tons of accessories, well-engineered, detailed sculpt, way more parts than a Koto kit, fully color-separated ... same price as Koto X kits AFTER importing, and the equivalent of $20-$30 less in Asia.
If I remember correctly the Eastern Model Zero and Copy X are also bigger than the Koto X kits, but I might be misremembering things...
Delete"Koto offered the initial Rockman kits for half what they are asking for these X kits."
DeleteThere's been over 40% of cumulative inflation since the first Rockman kits were released back in 2011, so $70-80 for the X kits today is just about the same price.
Eastern Model Zero is in the Asian market. Not the Japanese or US market. Those are always cheaper. And you probably know why.
DeleteNo Premium Roll.EXE? 🥺
ReplyDeleteJust get some metallic paint and you can make your own premium version.
DeleteOk. Thanks. 👍
Deletefucking terebel
ReplyDeleteSecurity!
DeleteTerebel, Treble's long lost cousin (twice removed)
Delete...wat?
DeleteHe said Number 11.
Delete@RS Proto Man
DeleteI made a joke cause the first anon spelled "terrible" as "tereble" which looks similar to "Treble".
I was referring to the 'Security' comment. My apologies - that wasn't clear.
DeleteNo, Number 11 is actually F*cking!
Delete@RS Proto Man
DeleteOh, my bad then. I don't really know what's going on with the "security" thing either...
Apparently, the Security Guards took one of the anon’s who just said the F word.
DeleteI don't really think the mods care about people swearing as long as they're on topic and aren't just being mean to people.
DeleteSecurity breach! Chew! Chew! Chew! Chew! Chew! Chew! Chew! Chew! Chew!...
DeleteBro talkin' like a train with all that chewin'.💀
DeleteUh, that doesn't compute. Oh, wait, uh... You're under arrest!
Delete☝️😐 nuh uh.
Deletewoosh
DeleteWe interrupt this joke going over the head sequence for an important news bulletin: Neo Repliforce have been spreading a series of chaos outside of the Inner Circle. The scariest organization have 10 mavericks with their backstories like, Magma Dragoon, Split Mushroom, Spiral Pegasus and Vile! and especially Colonel! Zero, where are you?!
DeleteFredrick add 7 to my cart.
ReplyDeleteWhy? So you can scalp them?
DeleteClearly hate a job more than scalpers lol.
DeleteWho's Fredrick? Does he happen to work at a pizza place for 5 nights by chance?
Delete(This is such a stupid joke lol)
With BBTS, you won't get your pre orders until at least 4-5 months after release.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised more people don't realize this by now.
DeleteHmm...
ReplyDeletehmmmmmmmm….
DeleteCool
ReplyDeleteThe green of the sword looks slightly more yellowish, in game the green is the same for the normal sword.
ReplyDeleteMight just pick this one up. I have the Zero one from a few years back.
ReplyDeleteIt barely looks different from the older version...
