Capcom Debuts New Apparel for Rockman X 30th Anniversary

As the X series' 30th anniversary draw near, Capcom has quietly launched commemorative apparel featuring t-shirts, a sweatshirt, and a hoodie to honor this milestone.

The apparel is available for purchase through Amazon Japan, featuring the "30th Anniversary" tagline along with Ultimate Armor X (White Version) from Mega Man X Legacy Collection's X-Challenge Mode. Additionally, it showcases a compilation of the main games in the X Series along with their corresponding Japanese release dates.

You can find more details after the break!

All of these goods can be purchased in a variety of colors, sizes and body types in some cases. The tees go for 3,300 yen ($23/21€), the long lleeve for 3,850 yen ($27/25€), the hoodie for 6,050 Yen ($43/39€) and the sweatshirt for 5,500 Yen ($39/35€).

If you're interested in adding any of these goods to your collection, you can grab them here. Be aware that you may need a proxy depending on your location.

It remains to be seen if this is only a part of the 30th anniversary celebrations, or if there's more in store. However, there might be surprises in store from Kotobukiya, although their event was postponed until further notice, so we may have to wait a little longer.

  1. I'm not going to lie, it's kind of aggravating when Protodude consistently promotes products that release only on Amazon JP. I can't buy from that, so all it serves is to make me jealous I guess. I say this light-heartedly tho, I appreciate the news. Although I am still salty about not being able to get the digital versions of the Official Complete Works on Amazon Kindle, very annoying.

    1. The good news is, they've been actively added E-Capcom apparel to their US Amazon page. These will probably make their way there soon. https://amzn.to/41ogk1O

    2. Megaman Starforce and Legends legacy collection, Seriously? That’s what you’ve come up with the idea?

    3. Neither series is particularly big but they have basically nothing in common either. They're more likely to be separate collections. That being said, Battle Network is the most recent collection to drop so Starforce is probably next.

  3. Cool shirt. Though, kinda painful to see the dates. 2005. was almost 20 years ago.

    1. Yup and it's also kind of crazy they didn't even include Rockman X DiVE, even though every series is involved in that one.

      Delete
    2. It doesnt belong in that list. As much as some wish it, X DiVE is not an X game.
Its a typical Capcom collaboration cashgrab. Thats all it ever was.

      Delete
    3. X DiVE is an X game, it's just not mainline. It's a spinoff taking place in its own continuity. While it does have collaboration elements from across the entire franchise and even from other Capcom series, it is primarily based on the X series and incorporates that concept into all of the other stuff crossed over into it. For instance, while Mega Man Classic has his classic slide instead of a dash move, this is purely cosmetic as it still functions as a dash and he can even wall jump in accordance with MMX style gameplay. The same applies to other characters such as Mega Man.exe and Ryu.

    4. Ok, if its a spinoff its not an X game. Thats a contradiction. Thanks for making my point. 🤨

You obviously know the plot. Way more than me since I have not, and likely will not, play the damn thing. But tell me, are you playing the character of X in the world of 21XX, or are you not basically player controlling data in some digital matrix world like in Ready Player One? Isnt that the whole premise?

Ergo, its not an X game...😑

    5. " this is purely cosmetic as it still functions as a dash""

Except it lets you fit under areas half your height and a normal dash does not. So the hit detection is also changed to be lower too, not just the sprite's appearance. Other than that though, it seems mostly identical to a dash. Oh, and maybe the dash lowers one's clearance a little, but not as much as slide. Also when sliding, I don't think you can jump with the full momentum behind it, unlike dash where jump can be done in a kind of dash jump speedy combo move increasing jump length.

    6. @Anonymous, I feel like Dive is more of a MegaMan general franchise spinoff game than any specific series game. I can get where you're coming from though. It's like how Command Mission is an X game but definitely doesn't play like mainline obviously. However, Dive feels a bit more all over the place to me personally. Characters/enemies are from every series, but the game treats them as like bugs and data and what Shrap said about the "player" being a thing. Character specific weapons aren't a thing with anyone using any weapon, everyone's double jumping, stuff like that. Like, I could take the X out of Dive's title and it wouldn't make much difference. I can't do the same for CM.

      Delete
    7. @shrap All you're doing is showing that you don't know what the word "spinoff" means. If you were playing as X in the world of 21XX, that would be much more mainline, now wouldn't it? It's a spinoff of the X series. It's literally right there in the title. Mega Man X DiVE.

This is where I would say something like the Mega Man fanbase being stupid or something, but honestly at least the Mega Man fanbase isn't as far gone as the Arkham Asylum fanbase. Good grief, the decline over there is just heartbreaking.

    8. Random person,

*sigh* again your making my point right there and you dont even realize it.

Try again. Maybe you can clarify why said spinoff belongs on said shirt of said mainline games listed. Just because an "X" is there. When you clearly claim, and I also believe, its a spinoff. A terrible spinoff. But a spinoff nonetheless.

Ok then. Fine. Lets add Xover too while we are at it which has next to NOTHING to do with X at all. Its right there in the name, after all.
Oh. And Namco X Capcom too. It has X literally right there in the name.

    9. Ehhem! Actually it's pronounced Namco cross* Capcom (adjusts glasses)...

  11. It's been 1900 days, 21 hours, 27 minutes, and 03.5 seconds since Megaman 11, everyone! Big applause for Capcom for abandoning us again! (Collections aside.)

    1. Capcom doesn't care about Mega Man games, only when it comes to merchandise and milking fans. It honestly just sucks to see my childhood series reduced to this.

      Delete
  12. How sad... MegaMan turned into a merchandise, then actually pleasing the true fans. I skip everything that's merchandise now.

    ReplyDelete
  13. As I have always said, I only care about the games, nothing else, more specifically sequels to the main timeline (I suppose collections are ok, be we have had enough of those (mostly). At this point, it will be an extraordinary claim if they make another MM sequel to the main timeline, which of course will require extraordinary evidence if they do (not rumors Taisen style as I was right for being skeptical on that). At this point, even if there were screens, I would still be skeptical and be searching for legit sources (not to mention we do live in an age of fake images created by anyone), then even then, hope it isn't actually canned before release.

  14. Capcom will give us anything related to Mega Man except a new game. These designs are lazy and just trying to be an easy cash grab.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. And when they literally do release a game you'll call that a cash grab too, like X DiVE Offline despite it being far more enjoyable and objectively less profitable than the Online version. Apparently businesses aren't allowed to make money these days.

      Delete
    2. Poor Capcom. I feel so bad for them. 😭

      Delete
    3. They should bring x dive offline to consoles.

      Delete
    4. And I can’t wait till the day there actually IS a new X game I could call a cash-grab. Then I could finally live in the magic timeline where people making prophetic declarations of fans calling the new game a cash grab would be true.

It would be a win-win for everyone.

      Delete
    5. Don't feel bad for them, just don't be a blind anti-fanboy. Nobody's saying you need to be supportive of literally everything they do. Their recent action meant to snuff out the modding community recently is particularly egregious. Just chill with the hyperbolic negativity. You are allowed to not like things without the whole victim act.

      Delete
    6. I am not convinced you understood. But thats what I've come to expect.

      Delete
    7. I would not call a new game a lazy cash grab. I'm glad some of you are happy to accept anything but a new game.

      Delete
    8. I understood, you were being sarcastic. That's why I was talking about chilling out.

      Delete
    9. "anti-fanboy"
That's only a cope term for people that don't know how to defend the company they're fans of.
      "Whole victim act"
You have no idea what you are talking about and should stop throwing random things to see what sticks.
Shrap is completely justified in his comments.

    10. Agreed. seems lazy on Capcom's part these days. Anything but a new game for easy money. To buy gacha and side stuff only encourages more gacha and side stuff. If this is the only think keeping MM alive, then it is already dead. Does Capcom not see what most of us want, or are they trying to be cheap? I mean MM11 and X collections sold well, so there is no excuse not to at least try an X9. A poster even said 'X's story is not over yet' where the X9 slot should be and next to it on the left shows X7 and X8 back in 2019. Here it is (looks like 2018 actually): https://www.rockman-corner.com/2018/07/mega-man-x-legacy-collection-album.html

    1. I'm honestly surprised a original or x anime series was never attempted during the peak of Mega Man's popularity in the late 90s.

  16. Gotta love how the clothing even says we haven't had a NEW X game in about 20 years. Megaman is so disrespected by it's company. Also....that design is ugly.

    1. At this point Capcom might as well say Mega Man is for merchandise and toys only. If they don’t want to make any new games maybe they should finish porting over the rest of the older Mega Man games to modern systems.

We definitely still have enough for another 4 Legacy collections with the gb games 1-5, Battle and Chase, Wily Wars, Power Battle and Power Fighters (I know these are on Arcade Stadium 2 but they deserve to be on a physical collection), Game Gear Mega Man, Super Adventure, Xtreme 1&2, Command Mission, Starforce, Legends 1,2, Japanese 2 prologue demo and the unreleased 3 demo.

      Delete
    2. Not to mention the PSP remakes.

      Delete
    3. Definitely, the psp remakes also deserve to be in a collection as well.

      Delete
  17. Wow that's all? The abandonment is real

    ReplyDelete
  18. Huh, weird they included Command Mission and PSP remake, but not Xtreme 1 and 2.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I just struggle to understand Capcom's logic.

Mega Man is clearly marketable and safely profitable to make tons of merchandise for every week, but when it comes to actually making a new damn game, suddenly it's too risky or they don't know what to do.

Stuff like this is why I wish the IP could be stripped from them (alongside dozens of others) for lack of any new games in this video game franchise.

One budget console game with no post-launch support and one gacha game in 13 years and counting shouldn't be acceptable for this or an other supposed mascot IP.

Also, while I'm at it, Taisen either never existed or it was canceled ages ago and Capcom just swept it under the rug. They can't use the pandemic excuse anymore, especially since not much else from them seems to have been affected.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm thinking about quitting mega man.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's good to see people has finally realized the reality that Capcom never cares about MM and only seen it as cash grab series

    ReplyDelete
  22. Is good that they’re selling new merchandise. But what about a new game? Or at least remakes? Come on capcom give your mega man X fans some love.
