Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Tops 1.42 Million Units Sold

Three months ago, Capcom announced that Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection (Vol.1+Vol.2)  sold 1.32 million units as of June 30, 2023. In their latest financial report for the second quarter of fiscal year 2023, Capcom has now confirmed that the collection has achieved 1.42 million units in sales as of September 30, 2023.

While it's not too big of a jump from the previous report, it's worth noting that Capcom has only recently started to include the title in discount campaigns. This strategy is expected to lead to a steady and gradual growth in sales, similar to what was observed with Mega Man 11.

As of now, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection still trails behind Mega Man 11 (1.80 million units) and Mega Man 2 (1.51 million units) in terms of sales, but it has rapidly secured the third best-selling selling Mega Man title, surpassing Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 (1.40 million units).

What's more? The Mega Man franchise as a whole jumped from 40 million units to 41 million units sold thanks to Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection's strong sales.

    1. There's no harm in expressing hope and desires. If someone wants to be optimistic about a new game being possible, let them be. They're not hurting anyone in doing so, and who knows it might end up happening.

    2. It is 'it' not 'them'.

    3. Doubt that matters. I'll bet you most people who wanted this own it on another platform. Or are waiting for a flash sale.

  6. What new Mega Man game will be announced: Mega Man x9, Mega Man 12, a new Mega Man Battle Network game, or will they revive Mega Man Star Force 4?

    1. MMBN had a definitive ending. Star Force had a definitive ending. There is no need to make more.
Be happy with that. When a story reaches it's ending, it's best to just leave it be.

    2. Most likely it’s a BN hard reboot, because they had a definitive ending to the series and SF became quite unpopular.

    3. The series without definite endings are Classic, X, ZX, Legends, and Starforce. They could always make a new sequel series taking place after the Battle Network games but before Starforce though, and considering the recent survey there's a very real chance they might.

    4. I hope all of them will be announced.

  7. Found out Denuvo has now been removed from the collection, so I will be looking to pick it up during the next big Steam Sale.

  9. Why do we care as fans? MegaMan has always done decent. For 2 decades all we've got is 11 and.. what 15 ports now? Let the young be excites over it us old guys know capcom is just milking it and wasting time.

  10. My only issue with this collection is that Capcom didn’t include the 2d platformer spin-off that was on GameCube.

    1. Honestly, I think we all wouldn’t mind at least a DLC with all the side games + Double Team and OSS
