"Rockman-san" and "Rockman-chan" English and Spanish Fan Translations Now Available

A couple days ago we finally had the chance to check out the first chapters for the brand-new "Rockman-san" and "Rockman-chan" manga. And now, thanks to the hard work of two members from the Mega Man community, we can read them both in English and Spanish!

Our good friend Midori (who runs the Mega Man Tune-a-Day Twitter account) translated -San and -Chan  into to English. You can find those here and here.

Meanwhile, Aldo Cáceres Vilca, who runs a blog dedicated to translating Rockman manga and different books into Spanish, translated them as well. You can find his Spanish translation here.

Now that most of you can read -San and -Chan, let us know what you think in the comments! Don't forget to thank Midori and Aldo, too!

"Rockman-san" and "Rockman-chan" First Chapters Posted Online

Last December, it was announced that two brand-new Rockman manga would launch in Spring 2021. That day is upon us.

The first chapters for both Rockman-san and Rockman-chan have been posted on Young Ace UP for free. Although each are presented in Japanese, there's no doubt we'll be seeing fan translations soon. Official English adaptations have yet to be confirmed.

Rockman-san follows the every day life of a grown-up Rockman as he deals with the tumultuous demands of an adult world. Older versions of Roll and Robot Masters make up the supporting cast. Meanwhile, Rockman-chan is a gag manga starring an "innocent" Blue Bomber who carries out Dr. Light's often-ridiculous demands.

You can check out the first chapters here or, alternatively, the following direct links:

We'll let you know when English versions become available - no worries. New chapters are expected to drop on May 12th. Stay tuned for continued coverage!

Making Mega Man: Code Legend Pre-Orders Are Live

Ready to build your own motion-controlled Mega Man game? Pre-orders for the officially-licensed Making Mega Man: Code Legend toolkit are now available via Kickstarter.

There are four different tiers to choose from but a minimum pledge of $204 includes the kit itself and 10 guide books at a 20% "Early Bird" discount. All tiers include free shipping and handling to the U.S and Canada. It's expected to ship in July.

Although the kits are produced on a made-to-order basis, Artec are limiting production to 1,000 units. If the campaign is successful, though, they hope to offer additional kits through other platforms. For now, this Kickstarter is the only method to purchase the English version.

For the uninitiated, Making Mega Man: Code Legend pre-orders will be held exclusively on Kickstarter beginning Tuesday, April 27th at 11:00am EDT. Rockman X DiVE Introduces "The Honorable Sword of Justice"

Once upon a time, the Repliforce tried to create the ideal Reploid. A Reploid with a "proud fighting spirit" and a "peace-loving heart." But it wasn't meant to be.

Repliforce scientists faced the reality that the two programs couldn't coexist in the same body. Instead, they placed the programs into two separate bodies, giving birth to the strong-willed Colonel and Iris, the arbitrator of peace.

Now, Rockman X DiVE is making the Repliforce's original dream a reality. An alternate scenario where two are one...

Capcom Store USA is Shutting Down Soon

If you've been eyeing something from the Capcom Store, well, you might want to get a jump on that. Capcom Store USA is officially closing down, the team announced on Twitter. The last day to place an order is May 1st. Supplies are limited (perhaps more than usual) so whatever it is you're hoping to buy, grab it ASAP.

Capcom Store USA first opened its doors in the Summer of 2000. It started off bare but grew into a place where fans could scoop up games and merchandise. The store's offering ebbed and flowed through the years; never quite catching up to the sheer magnitude of Capcom Japan's E-Capcom. But for many of us old timers, it was the go-to place to amass our Mega Man, Resident Evil and Street Fighter collections. I know I bought quite a few Mega Man shirts there myself. Good times.

Now, it's worth noting that it remains to be seen if this is literal end of Capcom Store USA. It's closed down before on more than one occasion, only to reemerge a few months later with a fresh coat of paint. Only time will tell.

Until then... place your orders now!

"Capcom vs. Osamu Tezuka Characters" Artbook Delayed to June

The much-anticipated "Capcom vs. Osamu Tezuka Characters" artbook was supposed to hit shelves in Japan this month. However, according to Fukkan, that's no longer be the case. The book's pre-order page now shows a new, unspecified June release date.

Although publisher Shufunotomo hasn't outright confirmed the delay, the radio silence on their end since January speaks volumes. It's a small delay so hopefully everything will be ready to go soon!

For the uninitiated, the artbook is a compilation of pieces drawn for the Capcom vs. Osamu Tezuka art exhibit that ran between October 2020 and February 2021. The 112-page tome features extensive coverage of the exhibit, rare and conceptual illustrations and unused manuscripts from Tezuka-san himself. Unfortunately it's only for sale from Fukkan... and they don't ship outside of Japan. If you really want it, though, you can try securing a copy from a proxy like CDJapan

I'm holding out for an official English localization, personally. Nevertheless, bring on June!

The Making of Monster Hunter World's Mega Man Palico Armor

Monster Hunter Rise may be all the rage these days (it even includes a little Rush easter-egg), but Monster Hunter World remains alive and kicking. That said, a series of videos were recently brought to my attention that chronicle the creation of the World's Palico Mega Man armor.

The videos, accompanied by a lengthy article on Naver, disclose the trials and tribulations of Sohn Seok-min; the sole individual charged with translating Mega Man's iconic 8-bit sprite into 3D. Early versions of the model are on full display, including several unused facial expressions. It's a really interesting story, one that I've gone ahead and paraphrased (with videos!) after the break below. Check it out!

First Look at Ryo Takamisaki's New Rockman EXE One Shot Story

To commemorate Rockman EXE's 20th anniversary, Ryo Takamisaki has been hard at work whipping up a brand-new one shot story. Plot details are pretty much non-existent at the moment. What we do know, though, is that it will be called "Blues' Runaway." Takamisaki-san posted two work-in-progress pages yesterday, too. No text so... infer away!

The one-shot story will be included inside Fukkan's Rockman EXE 20th Anniversary Treasure Box. It's a big box that comes with a bunch of EXE-themed stuff. You can read about what's inside here. Unfortunately, there are no current plans to distribute the story elsewhere. It's only in the Treasure Box.

What's more, there are no plans for an official English translation. That, coupled with a somewhat restrictive form of availability, means we may be waiting a little while before someone in the community can grab it and translate it. It's a bummer, yeah.

If you have the means to do so, you can pre-order the Treasure Box here.

Cause Mischief with "Bad Mega Man Volnutt" in Rockman X DiVE's April Fools' Day Event

The first characters from the Mega Man Legends series hit Rockman X DiVE way back in September 2020 with the Air Pirate Servbot event. Now, the next round of Legends characters are here just in time to celebrate April Fools' Day. Is this a joke? It certainly isn't! You can find all the details after the break!
