Icon Heroes Acquires Mega Man License for New Figures and Goods

Collectable manufacturer Icon Heroes has announced that they are partnering with Capcom to produce a brand-new line of Mega Man products. Figures, bobble heads, pins, key rings and other odds and ends are currently in production.

While no further details or images are available at this time, artists and toy designers for the Mega Man line told me that they are aiming to create some "real high quality stuff". You can get an idea of Icon Heroes' quality at their website here. I'm partial to their line of DC Comics figures and statues. Nice stuff.

We'll have more news on this front sooner than later. I may have a scoop or two coming up soon!

  1. I want to be excited... But I'm not holding my breath.
I'd be more interested if they had a demo.

Please at least make it to scale with an existing line...

    1. Let's hope its 4 inch nel. I'll take d-arts as a substitute.

    2. It would just be nice of some one would make high quality figures that fill in the gaps rather than keep releasing Rock, X and Zero and stop.

If they started releasing bosses, for example, make them to scale with one of the existing lines: D-Arts, Kotobukiya, Sentinal, something. I don't need a Mega Man that's to scale with Batman.

What Kotobukiya is doing is cool and all but it won't run forever and we haven't seen any models from that supposed Poll they did...

We shall see what they offer. That's what I am hoping for though.

    3. Give me a poseable Sigma, or give me uhhhh... another poseable Vile because I missed the window to get the D-Arts one!

    4. i would love to see a d-arts esque lineup of the other characters from classic,x,legends,zx,star force, battle network or zero.:3

  2. I'm still waiting for Bandai America to swoop in and give us higher quality figures in the same idea as their Dragon Ball Dragon Stars figures. It would be really nice since Kotobukiya is putting kits out slowly.

As for these, I hope for the best. Im6 not familiar with this company.

  3. i still would like to see setinels figures of the other megaman characters be produced(along with maybe a return of the d-arts lineup.i still feel for iris.) but i am willing to give this a chance if it at least alongside classic characters like classic, roll, protoman, maybe the dr.'s & bass the company does other figurines of characters in megaman like x(the navigators, some of the mavericks, command missions cast, iris.),legends(the bonnes, glyde, juno.),starforce(luna, sonia strum, harp note.)& battle network(mayl, yai, the exe's,bass.exe.) and maybe zero(the guardians, ciel, omega zero.) and zx(vent,aile,ashe.).

  4. For everyone posting about action figures: I think Icon Heroes' usage of the term "collectible figurines" is intentional here, as those are different from "action figures". Icon Heroes doesn't have articulated figures in their production history, so we should expect their offerings to be in-line with their previous output; as they said: bobble-heads, pins and key rings. "Collectible figurines" will likely be polystone like their other lines, and maybe some vinyl statues.

The closest Icon Heroes had to action figures was when they partnered with Diamond Select for Minimates' Thunder Cats, so maybe there's a remote chance we'll get some Mega Man Minimates, but even then: Icon Heroes had to partner with a different company to release an articulated figure, so it seems unlikely.

If you want more figures from Sentinel or Bandai: contact those companies, but -- even on the off-chance that Icon Heroes does release articulated figures -- it's not going to come close to the same quality as those companies.

    1. I was looking at their website, it appears they released some Karate Kid articulated figures. So it's possible.

      Personally not interested in statues.

    2. Thanks for the history on the company. I've never heard of them before.

    3. I missed those Karate Kid figures, but those are also not yet released. Maybe it's their first attempt at articulated figures? The promotional photos don't look bad, but then again: that's the point of promotional photos.

I still think if they were going to do articulated Mega Man figures they would have used the term "action figures" instead of "collectible figurines," but I could be wrong.

    4. I didn't read the Twitter.
Based on that, my interest is almost non-existent now.

  5. At this point I don't need another "high-quality" Mega Man figure.
Somebody needs to make a line of inexpensive Mega Man figures so they can do more than just the various Mega Man's, Zeroes, Rolls and Bass. Like maybe a G.I.Joe style line that can provide all the Robot Masters that have never been made into figures.

    1. All the robot masters (maybe with the exception of maybe the last few classic games) have actually been made into figures, and your comment about inexpensive being the key is right on.

Basically every robot master has been released in Japan as little gashapon (like MUSCLE Men) figures, and they even did mavericks from the X series, regular enemies, etc. You can still find these for sale on Yahoo Auctions in Japan, sometimes labeled as "eraser" figures, even though they are not actually pencil erasers.

Here's a photo of some of these, but this collection is by no means comprehensive:

    2. If you had the articulation of an 80's Joe, that would be fine.
But not these crappy Super 7 ReAction figures... All those are is make everything compatible with 80's Star Wars figures...

  6. Ooh new Mega Man stuff! Bosses? Please?

    1. You're going to get Mega Man, Roll, Protoman, X and then the line is going to die with Zero.
AND YOU'RE GOING TO LIKE IT!
