Check Out Some Rarely Seen Rockman VR Gameplay

Capcom's on-again, off-again handling of the Rockman VR: Targeted Virtual World!!! attraction and stringent no-camera policy present challenges in capturing the entire experience. While there's no sign of the game leaving Japan or being ported to consumer hardware in the foreseeable future, we're fortunate to have discovered some seldom-seen footage, which is the closest we've come to a full playthrough.

Rockman 20XX Has Been Successfully Preserved, Playable via FlashPoint

Rockman 20XX: Tatakae! Team Shachi!, the officially-licensed browser game by Capcom and Team Shachi, ended service on August 31st. However, I'm pleased to announce that the game has been fully preserved on Flashpoint, an open-source platform dedicated to archiving Flash games.

This preservation effort was carried out by Flashpoint archivist ThePowerPlayer, who played through the game multiple times to ensure the successful extraction of every asset, including those wacky cutscenes. If you have no earthly idea what I'm talking, give this a watch.

To experience Rockman 20XX once more (or maybe for the first time), download the latest version of the Flashpoint Infinity installer here. A Windows-based system is recommended, although limited support for Mac and Linux is available.  If you run into any issues or glitches, drop a comment. I'll pass it up to the chain!

Many thanks again to ThePowerPlayer for seeing this one through!

Mega Man X DiVE Offline launched just yesterday, and players wasted no time diving into the small, but fresh content introduced in this edition. New Teppen Card Pack Turns Vile Into a Clockwork Toy

After Teppen's previous card pack delighted us with more than 40 Battle Network-themed cards, it was only natural to expect a more measured release schedule for cards from the Mega Man series as a whole. This expectation seems to be coming true with the recent launch of "The Daymare Diary," which spotlights Sherry Birkin from Resident Evil 2. Nonetheless, there remains a bit of space for the introduction of a few new Mega Man X cards.

Mega Man X DiVE Offline is Now Available on PC, Android and iOS

In case you needed a reminder, Mega Man X DiVE Offline is officially a-go. The game is now available to download on Steam, the Google Play Store, and the App Store. It'll set you back $29.99. No micotransactions, no additional DLC - it's a one time payment. Also, contrary to early speculation, an internet connection is not required to play the Steam version.

In a nutshell, Mega Man X DiVE Offline retains most of the original game's content: 100+ characters, stages, and modes. However, online features such as Battle Mode, Co-op, Ranking, Guild, and Capsule naturally didn't make the cut. Crossover content based on Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, and Monster Hunter won't be making an appearance either. There's currently no plan to include them down the line.

A final note if you missed it: save data transfer from the original version is not possible. You'll have start the game over from scratch. Not a terrible loss if you're new to X DiVE, but for those who've been around since the beginning, I feel you.

And that's about it! Capcom also posted a post-release survey. After filling it out, you'll be treated to some hi-res key art. Hit up the link and let them know what you think!

Additional Mega Man X DiVE Offline Details From Producer Asada So

In the latest Mega Man X DiVE video update, the spotlight turned to Asada So, the producer of the offline version. He took the opportunity to reveal further details about the game's development. It's a little over 4 minutes long, but if you're in a hurry, here's the noteworthy bits:

  • Elemental Metals will be given to players as stage completion awards. Additional items, characters and weapon fragments will also be available as stage rewards or to exchange in the in-game shop.
  • Seasonal Events are included and can be played whenever you want, regardless of the time of year.
  • A new mode has been created to listen to the game's BGM and character voice clips.
  • To compensate for the removal of PvP, certain skills have been adjusted and fine-tuned for PvE.

That's about it for now. As a reminder, Mega Man X DiVE Offline launches September 1st for PC/Steam, Android, and iOS for $29.99. Although not outright confirmed by Capcom, an internet connection is reportedly required to play the game on Steam.

Capcom Seeks Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Feedback in New Survey

Mega Man Battle Network is on a bit of a winning streak, particularly following Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection achieving over a million units in sales in record time. To maintain this positive momentum, Capcom is reaching out to fans for input that could influence the development of future titles, according to a tweet from Rockman Unity.

A product survey for Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection is now online, offered in six languages, including English. The survey covers a range of questions about each game in the collection, as well as aspects of the collection's presentation such as optional filters, user interface, the 3D MegaMan.EXE, and extra content like the art gallery and music player.

You have until September 30th to complete the survey. After you submit your feedback, you'll receive a special wallpaper designed for your PC or mobile device.

Mega Man X DiVE Offline Launches September 1st for $29.99

Capcom has officially announced the release date for Mega Man X DiVE Offline, set to launch on September 1st on Steam, Android, and iOS platforms. The game is now available to pre-order on Steam, priced at $29.99. For those who were anticipating a more budget-friendly or even free option... well, here we are.

As previously reported, the game is a single-player, offline version of Mega Man X DiVE, which will be concluding its service on September 27th (The "Global Version", however, will remain online indefinitely). Mega Man X DiVE Offline will include a large majority of the original game's content, game modes, characters (totaling over 100) and stages.

Online features such as Battle Mode, Co-op, Ranking, Guild, and Capsule are not included. Collaborative content featuring characters and stages from other Capcom franchises, such as Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, and Monster Hunter, will also not be present. Moreover, data transfer from the original will not be possible. You gotta start from scratch, unfortunately.

More details on Mega Man X DiVE Offline can be found on the game's official website.

The Misadventures of Tron Bonne "Gappori Guide" Scans Now Available

Following the release of the Rockman DASH 2 Final Digouter's File, we're delighted to share that high-quality scans of the elusive and long out-of-print "Tron Ni Kobun Gappori Guide" are now available on the Internet Archive. This preservation contribution comes from our friends 0xmortis and RockmanCosmo.

Just like the previous art books in the DASH series, the Gappori Guide is packed with concept art of various characters and mecha, including designs that were never fully realized. A good slice of the book also provides a behind-the-scenes look at Capcom HQ, with snapshots capturing the development team's workspace. Those famous life-size Servbot props make an appearance too.

Please be aware that the scans are currently in their original Japanese format. The developer commentary throughout the guide will remain untranslated for now, but as always, if there's enough interest, a full scanlation project could be just around the corner.

In the meantime, feel free to check out the complete guide here!
