Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Sells Over 1 Million Units Worldwide

Capcom has announced that two weeks after its launch, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection has officially sold over 1 million units worldwide, making it the fastest selling Mega Man game of all time. Without question, it's on track to overtake Mega Man 11's lifetime sales of 1.6 million units, a feat that took around four years to accomplish.

The one million unit milestone consists of combined Volume 1 and Volume 2 sales across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC. Needless to say, this achievement is truly outstanding and unprecedented in the franchise's 35-year history. We haven't seen anything like this before.

The Battle Network sweep is here.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Japan Sales Report April 17-April 23

Due the stock shortage announced last week, the Japanese version of Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection didn't shine exactly as bright as it did during its debut. A natural drop was expected.

For the week between April 17th to April 23rd, Famitsu reports that the Nintendo Switch version sold 6,342 units charting at #5. This brings the physical Switch version in Japan to a total of 58,717 units without counting the download card version.

The PlayStation 4 version didn't enter the top 10 best selling games this week. It remains to be seen if the PS4 version will rank among the top 30 titles for the week when that data is released later.

If we combine the current data for the physical Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 versions, the Legacy Collection has sold 71,709 units in Japan.

As of a few days ago, the game is back in stock throughout Japan following a nation-wide sell-through. It will be interesting to see how sales progress next week. Stay tuned!

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Sold Out in Japan, Capcom Promises Restock

Capcom has confirmed that the physical editions of Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection have completely sold out in Japan. The company credited the game's popularity for this outstanding achievement, as it dominated Japan's sales charts within the first three days of its release.

To satisfy the demand, Capcom reassured fans that they are currently preparing additional units, with plans to restock by late April. They encourage anyone who's interested to contact retailers about reservations.

Needless to say, this speaks volumes to the collection's success and how much love there is for this 22-year-old series. The proverbial "Battle Network sweep" continues!

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Tops Japan Sales Charts (Updated)

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection launched worldwide on April 14th. Roughly a week later, the first sales report has come out from Japan - and it's looking good.

For the week between April 10th to April 16th, Famitsu reports that the Nintendo Switch version has sold 52,375 units charting at #1 and the PlayStation 4 version charted at #5 selling 7,871 units. Basically, the collection sold approximately 60,246 units in three days, selling more than all Mega Man X Legacy Collection versions (1, 2 and 1+2 bundle) combined and Mega Man 11 in a similar period of time (in Japan).

This number only accounts for physical sales in Japan. Worldwide digital and physical sales have yet to be disclosed but this bodes well overall. MMBNLC could be on track to become the next million seller in the Mega Man franchise.

Stay tuned for updates.

UPDATE: Famitsu has released an expanded sales chart that covers the top 30 best selling games instead of top 10. Battle Network Legacy Collection has sold an additional 5,121 units thanks to the download cards released for Nintendo Switch of Vol.1 and 2. The download card that packs both volumes together didn't chart inside the top 30.

The final number for the first three days are 65,367 units sold.
