Two New Mega Man Manga and Music Album Announced

To commemorate the classic series' 33rd anniversary, Rockman Unity has announced three projects slated to launch in Spring 2021.

First, we have two brand-new manga. Rockman-chan is a humorous, parody manga starring an innocent Blue Bomber as he carries out the whims of Dr. Light. Dr. Light's missions for our hero, however, are anything but a cake walk.

The second manga is called Rockman-san. It follows the misadventures of a grown-up Mega Man as he deals with the tumultuous demands of an adult world.

Both manga will launch exclusively in Japan on Young Ace UP this coming Spring. English adaptations have not been announced. So... do look forward to our inevitable fan-translations.

The third announcement is a brand-new Capcom tribute album called Captune ONE. It will feature a new arranged pieces from the Mega Man series, such as Running Through The Cyber World” from Mega Man Battle Network, "Wily Stage 1" from MM2 and “Esperanto” from Mega Man Zero 4.

Rockman EXE Anime Officially Heads to YouTube. In Japan. For a Limited Time.

Here's a pleasant surprise that comes with some caveats. Coro Coro Comics' just dropped the first 56 episodes of the Rockman EXE anime on YouTube for free!..

... but as you may have already deduced, these episodes are not only region-locked but available for a limited time. Folks living in Japan can stream the show until January 14th, 2021. After that, they're gone! You'll need to resort to a VPN to watch if you live outside Japan.

That's all there is to report on this front for now. It's always heartening to see the EXE anime return in some capacity -- reruns, re-releases, etc. And while it will only be available to watch for a month, I'm hopefully it will attract a whole new audience.

Long live EXE!

Iris "Soul Eraser" Skin Coming to Rockman X DiVE Next Week

The Rockman X DiVE development team has announced via social media that the game will receive a new skin after the maintenance period next Wednesday.

The skin is a recolor of Iris' design from the Game Boy Color game Rockman X2: Soul Eraser or as we know it in the west, Mega Man Xtreme 2. No price has been announced but judging by how much Iron Maiden Cinnamon cost, we are probably looking at another 1200 EM skin.

Are you panning on getting her? Let's us know in the comments!

Old Bandai Toy Fair Tape Shows Off Unreleased Ruby-Spears Mega Man Toys

Say what you will about the goofy Ruby-Spears Mega Man cartoon, but its complementary toyline from Bandai was the best. Those action figures are fondly remembered - if not more so - than the animated series itself.

The toyline is also remembered for a number of cancelled and unreleased items, too. There was the giant 8-inch "Talking Mega Man", vehicles from season 2, and a trio of figures based on different suits that Mega Man wore throughout the show. Images of some of these toys have bubbled up over the years... but to date, we don't know anyone that actually owns them in any capacity. Samples, prototypes - nothing.

More recently, however, a video from Bandai's 1995 Toy Fair offerings has come to light that proudly displays TWO cancelled toys: the 8-inch talking Mega Man and a previously unknown, unannounced playset. You can see them in action in the video above (42:07). You gotta love the host's very, uh, colorful take on "PlAsMa PoWerrrr..."

I miss everything about this show. Sigh...
