Mega Man: Fully Charged SDCC 2018 Exclusive Clip-on Revealed

Today, Toynami announced their full lineup of San Diego Comic-Con 2018 exclusive collectibles, which includes our very first piece of Mega Man: Fully Charged merchandise. Behold – a Mega Man/Aki Light clip-on, keychain thing! It'll set you back $12.99. No word on just how big or small this guy is, but at that price? Phew. You can pick it up at Toynami's booth (#3229) in a few weeks.

The fact that this will be at SDCC gives further credence that Fully Charged will be at the con in some capacity. In fact, I've been informed by two animators working on the show that we could be seeing something even sooner. I'll keep an ear to the ground but, yeah; it really sounds like we're getting an official reveal in July.

Big Rockman 30th Anniversary Digital Game Bundle on JP PlayStation Store

Want to scoop up the latest Rockman games in one fell swoop? The Japanese PlayStation Store is currently accepting orders for a Rockman 30th anniversary game bundle which includes Rockman 11, Rockman Classics Collection 1, Rockman Classics Collection 2, Rockman X Anniversary Collection 1, and Rockman X Anniversary Collection 2.

But wait – there's a little bit more. On top of that, the bundle also includes three Rockman X Anniversary Collection themes, a Rockman 30th anniversary theme, and the Rockman 11 Wily Numbers alternate music arrangement DLC.

So in total that's 19 individual games plus some extra goodies. How much? Oh, a cool 13,990 yen (roughly $126.23 US). That's not too shabby if you ask me. It's worth pointing out that, if you buy the bundle now, you'll immediately receive Rockman Classics Collection 1 and 2, X Anniversary Collection on release day (July 26th), and Rockman 11+Wily Numbers DLC on October 4th (the Japanese release date). Grab it here.

At this time, there's no sign yet of a Mega Man equivalent on the US or UK storefront. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if a bundle popped up eventually.

RIP Duff McWhalen - Mega Man X5 Maverick Names Changed for X Legacy Collection

If you watched today's trailer for Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2's X Challenge mode, you might have noticed something interesting: the Mega Man X5 Mavericks were going by their original Japanese names. Most of us assumed this change was only for the trailer, but it turns out that's not the case. According to a statement acquired by GameSpot, Capcom are actually removing the Guns N' Roses references all together.

A Capcom spokesperson writes:

"In our mission to make these collections an authentic Mega Man X experience, we took the opportunity to better align the naming of the Mega Man X5 Mavericks across all regions for better narrative cohesion across the series, making the names more aligned with the original Japanese version release. We hope that fans appreciate our intent to unify the Mega Man X Maverick-naming convention all these years later."

And there it is. Duff McWhalen, Axle the Red, Grizzly Slash, The Skiver, and so on are no more.

As the tale goes, the Guns N' Roses names came from Claire Redfield herself – voice actress Alyson Court. Miss Court was married to Capcom USA's localization writer at the time – a purported Guns N' Roses fan – and named the bosses in his honor. "He asked me 2 do it &, since he was a GnR fan, I changed the names 2b GnR references," Alyson tweeted in 2011. "At first my hubby laughed & liked it [the GnR names]. Then when fans started complaining he got mad at me. I meant well."

The Guns N' Roses names were a pretty divisive topic back in the day. I've always been in the camp that liked 'em but I understand why this will be a welcome change for many. Even so, rest easy, my big 'ol duffy boy. Here's to you.

The Making of Rockman 11 Episodes 2 and 3 Released

Capcom Japan has released the next two episodes in their Rockman 11 behind-the-scenes video series.

Episode 2 features character designer Yuji Ishihara talking about redesigning Rockman for a 3D environment. They spent a great deal of time figuring out Rockman's proportions, starting with a model that closely resembled his appearance in Rockman 8. Ultimately, they opted for a semi-deformed look with an emphasis placed on his head, arms, and legs. There's a lot of neat concept art to see here including a piece that bears a striking resemblance to Hitoshi Ariga's Rockman. Episode 3, meanwhile, focuses on stage design. The developers talk in length about honoring the stage format of previous Rockman games and adapting it to a more 3D-perspective.

You can watch these episodes in the links above or after the jump below. Like episode 1, episodes 2 and 3 are not subtitled. I was holding out hope Capcom USA would post subbed versions but there's no sign of that happening (yet). There's quite a bit of neat stuff to see here, though. Check 'em out if you've got the time!

Air Man Costume Coming Soon to Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition

Rashid-bloooow! In anticipation of Mega Man 11's October 2nd release, Capcom are teasing a Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Air Man costume for everyone's other favorite master of wind, Rashid. Although the distribution period for the Air Man costume was not announced, this post at Capcom Unity suggests it will become available sometime after August 2nd.

Air Man is the first Mega Man-themed Character Costume to appear in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition and it likely won't be the last. In October 2017, evidence of several unannounced Mega Man Character Costumes were discovered by credible dataminer X-Kira. These included costumes based on classic Mega Man, Proto Man, Roll, Bass, X, Zero, Axl, and Tron Bonne. Hopefully we'll be seeing some of those sooner than later.

More Mega Man 11 Fuse Man Stage Gameplay

By way of Nintendo World Report, here's some additional, better quality gameplay of Fuse Man's stage from E3 2018. Unlike past videos, this one takes us through the entire stage from start to finish. We get to see Fuse Man in action too. He's fast, furious and not afraid to dish out a high-flying Speed Gear attack. For a Casual Mode run, it looks like a fairly challenging fight.

All in all, lookin' good. October 4th can't come soon enough!

Thanks for the tip, Vin_Van_Voon!

First Look at the Limited Edition Rockman 11 Package Art

Rockman Unity today brings us a sneak peek of the Rockman 11 Limited Edition package design. So far it's shaping up nicely – and look! It's Dr. Light and Dr. Wily in their youth. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a deliberate nod to the period when they developed the Gear System. It makes me wonder: will we see a young Dr. Light/Dr. Wily *in* Rockman 11? That would be a first for the games.

As previously reported, there will be two types of Rockman 11 collector's packages for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4: the Limited Edition and the sort-of-but-not-really e-Capcom exclusive Complete Edition. You can pre-order and import them from Amazon Japan, Play Asia or Nin-Nin Game

For a breakdown of everything you'll find inside these lovely boxes, check out this post here.

Mega Man 11 Diorama Statue Outed by GameStop

A listing for a Mega Man 11 diorama has been spotted on GameStop. The $49.99 statue features Mega Man standing victorious before a groveling Dr. Wily. Neat! It's expected to ship on October 30th.

No high-res images or additional information is available at this time. This appears to be a very early listing – not even Capcom have announced it. Snag a pre-order it here.

More updates on this soon. Thanks, Reploid21XX!

Mega Man 11 Taking Home Several Best of E3 Nominations

E3 has come and gone, and to our delight, Mega Man 11 is walking away with seven best of show nominations. The above image comes to us from Mega Man 11 producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya. He tweets, "I thank all the people involved in E3. I am happy if you favorite Mega Man 11." In other words, he's very humbled.

I've kept tabs on Mega Man's E3 presence for several years and let me tell ya, this is a first. Congratulations on a great E3, Tsuchiya! We can't wait to play the game!
