Rockman EXE: Operate Shooting Star English Translation Patch Released!

Nearly nine years after its release, you can finally play the Japan-exclusive Rockman EXE: Operate Shooting Star in English. The long awaited translation patch was just released by the folks at The Rockman EXE Zone. Download it here!

In addition to a fully translated storyline, the patch also includes English text and graphics for the "Star Colosseum" sidegame. Moreover, the original Mega Man Battle Network script has been edited and adjusted to fix errors and inconsistencies with later Battle Network games.

For the uninitiated, Operate Shooting Star is an updated version of Battle Network 1 that includes a brand-new event involving characters from Mega Man Star Force. Once you've completed this event, you can switch between BN Mega Man or SF Mega Man in battle. There are other additions and changes to the main game too which are listed here. The big one for me is the updated battle system, which takes a few elements from Battle Network 2 such as the addition of wildcard * Battle Chips. Oh, and the Power Plant puzzle has been made vastly easier!

A huge thanks Greiga Master, Prof. 9, MegaRockEXE, MidniteW, Jumi, Lex, and everyone at team TREZ for all their hard work. I can't wait to give it a spin!

Mega Man 11 Exists Because of Legacy Collection's Success

Mega Man 11 is real – like, you'll actually get to play it in a few months. But why now? Why wasn't Mega Man 11 a thing three or even five years ago?  In an interview with Venture Beat, Mega Man 11 director Koji Oda revealed it had everything to do with Mega Man Legacy Collection's commercial success.

Mighty No. 9 Getting Removed From Wii U eShop in Japan

According to an official notice posted to the Japanese Wii U eShop, Mighty No. 9 will be de-listed from the storefront on Wednesday, June 20th, at 10 am. At the moment we don't know if this will affect the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version, nor do we know if the game will be removed in North America and Europe.

Although no reason was given why the game will be removed, it could be due to Level-5's acquisition of Mighty No. 9 developer Comcept which took place exactly one year ago today.

I'll keep an ear to the ground for updates. Thanks for the tip, ZerokageHB!

Mega Man 11 Off-Screen Fuse Man Stage Gameplay

Block Man isn't the only playable Mega Man 11 stage at E3. After the jump below, check out several minutes of live, off-screen footage of Fuse Man's stage. We don't get to see the actual fight against Fuse Man, though there's quite a bit of new, never-before-seen stuff here.

Mega Man 11 Block Man Stage Gameplay (E3 2018)

Here's archived footage from today's Mega Man 11 live stream with Capcom USA and producer Kazuhiro Tsuchiya and director Koji Oda. There's lots of stuff to see, hear and learn in a about 40-minutes worth of footage.

For the uninitiated, Capcom USA's Kellen plays through the entirety of Block Man's stage in both Normal and Newcomer Mode. The Gear System is on full display here which, again, is an entirely optional tool (you can literally beat the game without using it, they say). Later, we get to see Mega Man square off against two separate "stacking block" boss battles and a fight with Block Man himself (whose apparently a fan of Pink Floyd). Switching to Newcomer Mode, Kellen shows us that players will have access to an unlimited amount of Beat Calls and a rapid fire buster shot.

All in all, Mega Man 11 is shaping up quite nicely. Expect more Mega Man 11 news soon!

Mega Man 11 Photo Op at E3 2018 Showroom

The doors are open to E3 2018 and we have a MUCH better look at the Mega Man 30th anniversary booth. In addition to a lovely, wall-spanning timeline and trivia, there's a neat Mega Man 11 photo op too! If you're at the show you can snap a pic with Mega Man, Rush and our boy Block Man!

More Mega Man 11 updates are coming soon – stay tuned!

Thanks, Patrick!

Mega Man Confirmed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Mega Man (and literally every character in Smash Bros. history) is coming back to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for Nintendo Switch. As outlined in the Nintendo Direct, Mega Man's Final Smash is a bit different: after detonating the Black Hole Bomb, Mega Man summons Proto Man and Bass in addition to previous Mega Man incarnations. Beyond that, Mega Man looks like he plays exactly as he did in Wii U/3DS. One minor difference, though, is Leaf Shield is faster and stuns each time it hits another player.

Also mentioned in the Direct, Mega Man's stage includes every trap and contraption from both Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS.

And that's about it Smash Bros.-wise! Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launches December 7th, 2018!

Mega Man 30th Anniversary Booth Spotted at E3

Construction of the E3 2018 showroom from is nearing completion – and would you look at that! They're building a nice, big 'ol booth just for Mega Man. No joke: the last time we had a dedicated booth and not a couple kiosks relegated to a corner was back in 2003. Yeah, it wasn't the best looking booth...

Anyway, while the 30th anniversary booth is still under construction, we can already tell it will play host to a wall-spanning franchise timeline and several demo stations for Mega Man 11 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2. Both titles are playable to the public for the very first time. Swing on by if you have the opportunity!

We're expecting quite a bit of Mega Man news from E3 this year. More Mega Man 11 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 updates and – if we're lucky – Mega Man in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo Switch. Hang tight and stay tuned!

Rockman DASH: Great Adventure on the Five Islands Fan-Dub is Back!

Many moons ago, Get Me Off the Moon dubbed the Japan-only Rockman DASH: Great Adventure on the Five Islands mobile game. The dubbed video series marked the first time fans could experience the game in English, thanks in large part to the translation efforts of Amunshen and Heat Man.

The project went on hiatus about five years ago with no new episodes in sight – but look! NEW EPISODES! The first two episodes of the "Paulan Island" arc were just uploaded to YouTube (episode 1 above; episode 2 after the break). According to Get Me Off the Moon's Skybane, subsequent episodes will be released every Friday on their YouTube channel.

For more information about Great Adventure on the Five Islands, head to the Mega Man Knowledge Database.

Today is the Ninth Annual "Rockman Day"

Another year, another Rockman day. It's the ninth one, in fact! If you don't know what that means, read up on this post here. But long story short, "roku" is 6 and "ku/kyuu" is 9 and together they form "rokku". This trend of making numbers into words is why the number 69 is often associated with Rockman (the Support Car's plate, for example). Funnily enough, today is also the day the events of Rockman 2 happens.

As per tradition, fans from both sides of the pacific are whipping up fan-art. The piece above comes to us from One-Punch Man illustrator and Dust Man and Crystal creator, Yusuke Murata. Hit the jump below to see more lovely Rockman Day creations!

The latest addition to Funko's ever-growing, perhaps unstoppable line of Pop! figures is the blue bomber himself. Dubbed "Jumping Mega Man", the new figure is slated to hit shelves in August. The product description reads:

"Defeat the Robot Masters with this new Mega Man Pop! vinyl figure, depicted leaping into action armed with his Mega Buster. No Mega Man collection is complete without the titular hero, also known by the alias Blue Bomber. Embodying courage, a passion for justice and restraint when dealing with his enemies, Mega Man is a credit to his creators, Dr. Light and Capcom, and is extremely unlikely to cause any brawls among your collection."

Not counting color variants, "Jumping Mega Man" is the forth figure in Funko's Mega Man sub line. Chances are it surely won't be the last. Grab yours here.
