Rockman EXE and Rockman Xover Art/Soundtrack Sets Announced
Later this fall, the original Rockman EXE and Rockman Xover are getting the "Capcom Special Selection" treatment. These are official 32-page art books bundled with mini soundtracks, going for 1,852 Yen a piece. As one may recall, Rockman DASH 2 received a similar package in 2009.
The e-Capcom description for the Rockman EXE set suggests new and never-before-seen concept art appearing in the art book. The CD will contain select tracks from EXE1 and an arranged version of "Theme of EXE" from Operate Shooting Star.
Meanwhile, the Xover set contains artwork for content not currently available to players, such as OVER-10 and Giallo. Music-wise, it's pretty much everything from the game. This is the first time Xover's soundtrack has been publicly released.
Both sets are due September 25th, exclusively through e-Capcom.
Thanks to MidniteW for the heads up.

Mega Man StreetPass Puzzle Completed!
By way of BumperHelicopters, here's the completed Mega Man StreetPass puzzle in action. Suffice to say, it's quite cute. When viewed on a Nintendo 3DS, the action is displayed in, well, stereoscopic 3D.
Still no word when the puzzle will hit Mii Plazas outside of Japan. We'll keep an eye out, though. Thanks to Heat Man for the find!

Keiji Inafune Ponders "Mighty Legends"
It's no secret that Keiji Inafune adores Mega Man Legends. So much so, in fact, he once expressed interest in making another game just like it some day. Nearly a year has passed since that comment was made, and Inafune isn't backing down from it.
In a recent Q&A session at SGC 2014, Inafune voiced further interest in seeing the Mighty No. 9 series go in different directions. Speaking through his translator, he posed the following question to the audience: "If you guys saw a Mega-Man Legends-style 'Mighty' game come up on Kickstarter, would you consider backing it?" As one would expect, the fans erupted into a roaring cheer, with one fellow belting out "take my money."
Inafune's translator continued, "he's got nothing to announce today, but the fact is, he's heard all of you shout out like that, so hhe's definitely putting that in his pocket and taking it back with him."
Where do you stand on the prospect of a Mighty Legends?

Japan Gets Rockman-Themed StreetPass Puzzle
Well this is interesting. Nintendo 3DS owners in Japan now have access to a Rockman puzzle for Mii Plaza's Puzzle Swap. Pieces are being sent out by StreetPass at this very moment, so hopefull we'll have an image of the completed puzzle soon.
For the record, this is the second third-party puzzle based on a Capcom property; a Monster Hunter 4 puzzle hit not too long. Still, just another example of Nintendo showing some blue bomber love. How lovely.

Mega Man Nendoroid? It Would Look Something Like This
Good Smile Company, manufacturer of various Japanese hobby products, recently held its third annual figure creation contest for its employees. While there's no guarantee these entries will go on to become actual products, we can't help but admire one in particular: a Mega Man Nendoroid.
Mega Man clocks in at 10cm in height, clad in his spiffy new Super Smash Bros. armor. Just look at that face. The super deformity. It's so cool it really makes you wonder why this isn't a thing.
With enough attention and admiration, though, perhaps Good Smile will see to producing it. Here's hoping!

Mighty No. 9 Animated Series Announced, Airing in 2016
Keiji Inafune wasn't kidding when he said he would consider a Mighty No. 9 show. An animated series based on the upcoming game is indeed in the works, Inafune announced at Anime Expo. Details below:
"Half human, half robot, all Mighty"
The story focuses on BECK, a weak transforming combat robot, who was made to fight in a combat robot league as a part of the MIGHTY NUMBERS, the strongest robots in the world. When Beck is the only robot spared from a virus that forces his teammates to destroy mankind, he has to find a way to overcome his own inadequacies so that he can stop them.

Digital Frontier, an animation company based in Tokyo, Japan, would like to announce that they are developing "Mighty No.9: The Animated TV Series" for the worldwide market. The series is based on a forthcoming video game by legendary game designer, Keiji Inafune. This teaser was introduced to the public on July 5th at the 2014 Anime Expo in Los Angeles.

Super Smash Bros. Pic of the Day is One Big Tease
Shared on the official Super Smash Bros. Miiverse, Masahiro Sakurai posted this great closeup of Mega Man's Final Smash. He writes, "Mega Man.EXE and Mega Man Volnutt!! They only appear for a split second, but the modeling is so detailed. And if that’s the case…!"
This caption quickly fueled hopes that Sakurai was about to announce alternate Mega Man costumes based on his four iterations, like Volnutt and .EXE. Unfortunately, though, that was not the case. See what it really means after the jump!

Rockman EXE Headed to Japan Virtual Console Next Week
Wii U owners in Japan will be able to download the original Rockman EXE next week on the 9th for 702 Yen ($6.90). Given the rate that these Game Boy Advance have been hitting Wii U, not to mention word of Capcom U.S' own ambitions, it seems all but certain that the game is headed to our Virtual Console soon.
This marks the first time the original Battle Network has been made available for digital download. According to Capcom, it will be followed by Battle Chip Challenge and Mega Man Zero some time this year. Dates for Battle Network 2 & 3 and Mega Man Zero 2 remain to be determined.
We'll keep you posted.

New Mighty No. 9 Gameplay and Call Details
Comcept and Inti Creates have rolled out a new gameplay video for Mighty No. 9 that covers even more footage of Mighty No. 2 and Mighty No. 5's stages. You can check it out above.
Additionally, the developers have shared more details on the game's second playable character, Call. Unlike Beck, Call can't perform a crouching dash. Instead, she'll have access to a crawl manuver that enables players to navigate through tight areas such as ventilation shafts. You can view these animations here. While you're there, check out Call's new look. Inti Creates have gone back and fine-tuned some of the character's aesthetic details.

Original Mega Man Promo Art Hits Auction Block
A pair of interesting items have hit the ol' Yahoo Auctions: original art cels used to promote Mega Man 2 and Mega Man 3 in Club Nintendo magazine. To my knowledge these were not produced in-house at Capcom; rather, they were commissioned on Capcom's behalf. What's more, these pieces yield from the personal collection of the late Hideaki Ito, known for his contributions to the Japanese animation industry.
The Mega Man 2 piece measures in at about 4.1 x 5.8 inches; Mega Man 3 at 4.9 x 6.9 inches. As of this writing, the untouched opening bid is 30,000 Yen each (roughly $296.12). Not exactly cheap, but can you really put a price something like this? Well, I wouldn't have thought so, either, but here we are. Original cels don't typically come cheap, mind you.
Of course, if you're not in the market you can always admire them. Check them out here and here!
