Mega Man X Timelines #1 is in the hands of author Daniel “Protoman” Arseneault ahead of its release this week, and it comes with a surprise reveal: a back-page announcement confirming that Mega Man X will continue as a regular, ongoing series from Udon. Arseneault will return as writer, joined once again by illustrator Hanzo Steinbach.
According to Udon’s San Diego Comic-Con panel, the Mega Man X comic is a separate title from Mega Man Timelines and will launch with its own issue #1 when it begins serialization this fall.
Stay tuned for updates!
I used to pray for times like these
ReplyDeleteNow if they only do the same for battle network and star force.
ReplyDeleteUsing Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Star Force outside of Japan requires a ShoPro license, which is why in Archie Comics' Mega Man issue 55, MegaMan.EXE and Star Force MegaMan are just "shadows" at 2015.
DeleteSince Capcom isn't the only one marketing Battle Network and Star Force in Japan, there's a wealth of material beyond the games (anime and manga by various artists).
Oh and i might buy it when it comes out, i am a manga inspired artist after all.
ReplyDeletei've never been happier in my life
ReplyDeleteplease please please please release it digitally, it's the only hope I can buy these, Udon imports are so scarce around here
ReplyDeleteGuess who's pirating since I refuse to give Udon my money.
ReplyDeleteWild when people think they should get everything for free
DeleteCry about it.
DeleteWhat has Udon done, that justifies a boycott of his work?
DeleteEvery time this topic comes up, a shitstorm ensues. .-.
DeleteWhy argue @RS Proto Man... It's a waste of time.
Delete@RS Proto Man Who cares? Freedom of speech. @Kid Ryan Matt Moylan is a bigot.
DeleteYour hate is showing Nico. Hypocrite.
Delete"Keep it friendly. Disparaging, belittling and derogatory comments are not permitted. " am I right?
Unless you respond. THATS not allowed.
Nico, I wasn't mad at you. I was referring to Jonny Law. People getting on their high horse over piracy is annoying.
DeleteSuch trite entitlement. Personally I find it far more fulfilling to help grow a brand you love, but some people prefer to watch the world burn. You do you, your opinion is now inconsequential for the foreseeable future anyway.
DeleteThanks! Bigots are terrible and should never be supported.
Delete@Kid Ryan
DeleteProblem is any idiot on the internet can call you a bigot (case in point). But your not allowed to defend yourself. As has been proven.
Idk, I think piracy is up there with imitation as one of the most sincere forms of flattery. At least pirates don’t act like buying a mass market product is charity work.
DeleteI love the internet.
DeleteLol
Delete@shrap Fair point, one of the many cons to online.
DeleteI never thought this day would come
ReplyDeleteI'll buy a copy. Emphasis on A copy. Not 20 of em.
ReplyDeleteWell this seems significant. I’m pretty sure this is the first X specific comic we’ve gotten, though Dreamwave and Archie were clearly interested. Wonder if this is why X Timelines is so conceptually safe; they were saving the big guns for an ongoing.
ReplyDeleteThis is something I've wanted for years! Weird how it starts like, immediately on the heels of the Timelines mini. I wonder if it'll be a new continuity or if they'll retread the games like the Archie Comics did? I sort of hope its a soft-reboot kind of thing.
ReplyDeleteI’m sure it’ll have deviations, but I’m hoping it leans more liberal with the source material. Though I find it too banal for its series, something in the vein of Skybound Transformers could be cool. Based on X Timelines, I’m not holding my breath…
DeleteLets support this with all we got!
ReplyDeleteClosest thing we are getting to an anime series!
Full support ahead!
As long as the plot is not too goofy, sure.
DeleteI would advise not to buy all the variant covers... but sure.
DeleteWell hey, they’re certainly listening to the fans
ReplyDeleteLet's just hope they start making mega man games again, love to see them revive legends 3, star force and x9.
