Rockman X DiVE Says Goodbye to 2022 with DiVE Armor RiCO

Before the year ends, we have another character joining the Rockman X DiVE roster. It's not a New Year-themed character like Cinnamon or Iris were in previous years. Instead, the game is closing out 2022 with the previously-teased DiVE Armor RiCO... and she packs quite a punch.

Find all the details after the break!

DiVE Armor RiCO's first active skill is Recreation: Plasma Charge Shot. By changing chips, the skill can alternate from "Cross Charge Shot" or "DiVE Buster". Additionally, the skill can release three big missiles with tracking properties when the appropriate passive skill is unlocked.

Her second active skill is Recreation: Double Genmu Zero. Launch gigantic energy blades to damage all enemies in its path. By changing chips, the skill will switch to "Rekkoha" or "Raikousen". Some of the passive skills will allow her to use this skill repeatedly and increase movement speed by 37.5%.

Outside the active skills, by unlocking specific passive skills she can gain a shield that can withstand 110% attack damage, a debuff shield, and gain damage and defense enhancement by 30% when equipping specific weapons.

She seems to be a strong character on paper, albeit the trailer mentions her "inability to recover HP" as her main handicap.

This week chapter 20 of Story Mode will be released too. As usual, the level cap should be raised and all the things that come with it like new armor, co-op stages and so on.

And that's all for this year when it comes to Rockman X DiVE. Next year promises to be an interesting one with more DiVE characters and weapons coming along.  Of course, there's a new collab with a Capcom IP in March too. Look forward to it!

  1. You got me excited when I read Rockman X dive says goodbye, then I kept on reading and proceeded to return to my normal emotional state.

    1. So next year, more Dive nonsense and nothing new? This could go on for many many years, and many are just encouraging it by supporting it, as we see in many comments in the sub here. It is getting repetitive. 3 years done with this so far.

    2. Story-wise,XDiVE is ending very soon. Gameplay-wise,it's gonna continue until Capcom is sick of this game.

    5. Nonono. It's a bad palette swap of Sigma with a goofy name like Gamis.

    6. Actually it's a bait and switch with Sigma, in world 19 Ico tells Rico and the Player to destroy Sigma who's the boss of that world but they find Sigma from before he got in a fight with Zero in the X4 flashback when he wasn't infected. While you fight Sigma both Rico and the player notice something is wrong fighting him and Ico is still telling them to destroy Sigma but the player stops and tells Sigma it was a sparring match and Sigma teleports away. In the same world Eratoeir also tell Rico that Via has the "destroy robot program" in him which is why he looks like X1 Zero and it's heavily implied that Via is the Maverick virus itself. The speculation is that Via and Ico wanted the player to destroy Sigma before he finds Zero in the Wily lab Garma's unit discovered him in so he can mess up the timeline by keeping Zero evil without Sigma becoming the new main host.

  2. Dang it, now im about 21 levels behind the level cap... game is too grindy for me and my interest in it has been waning for a long time now. not to mention it takes forever to get EM saved up in this game

  3. Well this is emblematic end of what a disappointment X Dive has been with their character choices this year. A Dive Armor variant of an OC waifu.

Now we can a ranked match where all 6 characters are Rico variants ¬_¬

  5. I actually LOVE this character and what she can do. Shame I'll never be able to get her.

    1. Maybe someone will make a figure of her, and you could buy it. Probably won't be cheap if it's a custom or kitbash, though.

  6. Wow. RiCO with slightly different looks and recreations of other characters' moves. I'm blown away.

  7. I realize it's the "OC Waifu" as people put it, but... I mean... if they did more "event/costume" characters like this? I'd complain a lot less about the "waifu" syndrome they've built up. Like, this is an *actual* Megaman Armor design. It looks cool. It looks like something that *belongs* in a Megaman X game. Full thumbs up from me, I love it. Way better than another freaking maximum cleavage bathing suit or eyeroll worthy wedding gown.

Will it make me come back and play the game?? ....No. Because it's *boring*, because I'm not allowed to play the game. I'd love to see that new story chapter. Especially if it's wrapping up the story finally? I was always honestly pretty interested in seeing where that all went, but-- Then they stopped letting me play the game. No play. Only grind. Same level, over and over. Nothing new for you until you push past a literally arbitrary equipment cap, because this game does not value your time and does not allow you to rely on skill. I'm still frustrated by how promising this all could have been if they'd just let it BE A GAME. Maybe I can find the story later in a video from someone with more patience than me. Once it's out anyways.

    1. Just wanna say, your comment absolutely resonates with me. Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls has this same problem. Imagine what a cool game X DiVE or Grimoire of Souls could be if it actually let you play the game like a normal game. But, no. You play through levels to a point, then the enemies become too tank-y to defeat without special abilities and they do too much damage to reasonably recover from.

Honestly, I wasn't especially invested in X DiVE's plot. It did keep me going, though. I genuinely got excited whenever I was finally strong enough to venture into a new stage. But, eventually… it was just too much work for not enough satisfaction.

    2. Now your learning.
Gacha creep is designed intentionally. It's not meant to be beaten. It's meant to make you think your winning the game, until they just throw something more annoying at you to incite you to spend money to get the upgrades you need, and thus to maintain the "high" you get when you do pulls and keep you addicted. The plot is ancillary. That's why every time you pull a character you get a rush, like pulling the lever on a slot machine. It's really disgusting.

    3. should try out playing BlueArchive. Story is actually engaging and not gated. And the gacha is more generous since the devs actually care about their game and the players.

    4. I think you're better off not investing any money into a game with gacha. You never know when it's time for the servers to be turned off.

    6. Yeah, time as well. I don't think I'll ever get over how suddenly the Magia Record servers were closed for the US servers. Makes it a waste of time and money.

    7. btw Magia Record had a mercy system for their gacha stuff. It's not just an issue of spending - they gave less than two weeks notice the servers would be shut down, so everyone was either scrambling to find a way to make an account on another server or gave up. I couldn't figure out how to do the former, so I just sorta moved on.

  8. I will stand by my perspective of Rico being the true antagonist of Megaman X DIVE. She not only insists on taking away control from you for the first 50 levels but also insists on draining your bank account IRL. Thankfully I never spent any money on this and saved up all of the free gems they give out over the course of each year and the dailies so was guaranteed to get the few characters I wanted that way.

Sadly its just not fun to play and I dont really have anywhere to share my custom models of characters Like Oro-S while X DIVE insists on making more "cant believe it not hentai" outfits for everyone.

  9. Watching people cry about X-Dive will never not be funny.
It's a mobile game manchildren. Ignore it or move on for the love of all things holy.
