Online Battles + Trading Confirmed for Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection

Capcom provided a very small update on Mega Man battle Network Legacy Collection today during the Tokyo Game Show 2022 showcase. Masakazu Eguchi (aka Mr. Famous) made an appearance to confirm that the development team are hard at work implementing online features into "every series". This includes both online battles and the ability to trade Battle Chips. More details will be shared in a future presentation.

The other bit of news is sure to put a smile on any Battle Network fan's face. A fully-voiced, 3D MegaMan.EXE will serve as the collection's navigator from the title selection screen. He'll have various reactions based on your play and control style. The cherry on top? Andrew Francis is back; reprising his role as MegaMan.EXE from Mega Man NT Warrior!

That's about it for now. Stay tuned for further updates.

  1. I love Andrew Francis' canadian surfer voice. I grew up with that guy, lol

  2. Online features onto *EVERY* BN game, wow! I thought they would just leave the online as a one shared mode while restricting certain chips from each series, using updated ones instead but no. That's incredible!

And the cherry on top; MegaMan.EXE as our NAVI and voiced by Andrew himself!? Wonder if they'll add the Program of Light and Dark movie as well. But if not, regardless of that Capcom is putting in a lot of work for this Collection and I can't wait.

  3. I figured they would do the online trading. That is good.

  4. If you go to the official MMBN collection website, they currently have a notification stating: "Note: This title does not support cross-saves or cross-play with other platforms."

Love they're working on this, but considering 3 platforms will have the game, good as a heads up. Whether they get this working before release or not is up may be possible (the website up til today also only said 1 Player only, but now it also lists 2 players online) but I wouldn't hold my breath.

    1. If you mean option to switch between language i don't know.
Now, they implied that the games would be translated in languages other than english.
