Capcom Now Seeking *English* Partners for Mega Man Battle Network's 20th Anniversary

This past May, Capcom Japan began recruiting licensing partners to development commemorative products for Mega Man Battle Network's 20th anniversary. And now, six months later, the house that built the blue bomber are extending their efforts to English-based companies.

Capcom USA's official Licensing Business site has begun accepting applicants to develop products for the 20th anniversary, which kicks off on March 21st, 2021. By scrolling all the way to the bottom of the page, interested parties can fill out a questionnaire to begin the process. The end result will be 20th anniversary-branded toys, apparel, special events and other consumer goods.

The extension to include English-based licensing partners gives further credence that the 20th anniversary festivities will be pretty significant. In 2016, Capcom previously sought partners specifically for Mega Man X's 25th anniversary; a sub-event completely separate from the brand's overall 30th anniversary. The end result was a unified "Mega Man X 25th Anniversary" product line and two standout compilations: Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2.

It remains to be seen when Capcom will officially lay out their Battle Network plans for the coming year. However, it's worth noting that we've already seen some movement on that front. There was the "Duel Masters PLAY's" crossover event in July, the beautiful Mega Man vs Bass statue, and the upcoming Rockman EXE playable characters in Rockman X DiVE later this week

Stay tuned...

    1. And Crash Man. Don't forget Crash Man. I've been waiting for Crashman.exe since I found out about Quickman.exe, and that was almost 2 decades ago. Splashwoman.exe would be a welcome addition too.

  7. I'm not sure there will be a legacy collection for this serie (though i would be overjoyed if there was). The way i see it, the collections are there to pave the way for eventual future installement, and i don't see a BN 7 hapening. The serie concluded nicely. And one of the main appeal of this sub-serie was that it was set in a plausible near-future is lost now that many things predicted in the game are just everyday life, or even dated (minus the netnavis). So bringing it back now might not be worth the risk.
Does'nt mean it could'nt happen. There could be a BN collection in preparation of a SF one to have the complete serie if they ever decide to brings back Star force 4. Plus BN was the most successfull sub-serie in the 2000, meaning that there is enough nostalgia to ensure that there is a audience for a compilation, and online PvP would works well in this day and age.
If they make a BN collection, then they should combine the various double-versions rather than picking one.

  8. If they "fix" anything in a possible collection, that would be not having to replay BN 4 three times to fight everyone.

  9. As a millennial myself, I could narrate rokyoku about the series, albeit can get criticized by cliques.
