Capcom has updated their Game Series Sales and Platinum Titles pages to reflect the fiscal year ending March 31st, 2020. Unfortunately, we do not have any data on how well Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection performed this past quarter. Nevertheless, we do have some good news:
- Mega Man 11 saw an additional 200,000 units in sales between November 2019 to March 31st, 2020. The game has now officially sold 1.2 million units. Mega Man 11 continues to be the fastest selling Mega Man title in well over 25 years.
- As of March 31st, the Mega Man franchise has moved 36 million units in lifetime sales. That's an additional million from May 2019. We can assume the bump was from Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection and further steady sales of Mega Man 11, Mega Man Legacy Collection 1+2 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2.
At the end of the day, the franchise remains in a healthy state. Mega Man 11, Mega Man Legacy Collection 1+2 and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2 continue to show strong legs. I think it's safe to say that those discounted sales across multiple storefronts really helped. Now, as for ZX/Zero Legacy Collection... it's difficult to pin-point how it's doing. Pending official word from Capcom, we can only speculate.
We'll let you know if we hear anything concrete.

I'm confident that Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is doing well. Let's continue supporting the franchise.
ReplyDeleteOK Capcom, we bought your Mega Man games. Can we have ZX3 now? Please?
ReplyDeleteI want Legends 3 first
DeleteYeah, not sure if Zero/ZX collection is doing well at all. It's also odd how X Legacy Collection screeched to a halt selling wise. It was originally so close to selling a million units so quickly but it seems it never made it past that hump yet.
ReplyDeleteI will buy any collection they make but they have to keep everyone interested with new games some time. If we're not getting yearly games like in the early 2000s, then they could focus on making longer games with more content.
ReplyDeleteAwesome congrats to Mega Man 11 selling so well along the collection ones, hopefully Zero/ZX will follow up on that.
ReplyDeleteAnother Megaman game with a playable "Roll" please.
ReplyDeleteOr better yet, Roll can get her own game. Mega Man fans can stop suffering from incessant Roll fans asking for her to do and be something completely out of context for seemingly shallow/novelty reasons in a Mega Man game, Roll fans can use a playable Roll to their hearts content, it's a win win.
