Rockman X DiVE – RiCO Introductory Trailer

The Rockman X DiVE updates keep coming! We talked some hours ago about the extension of the Closed Beta Test registration period and the winners of the "Mega Man Collections" contest. And now, we have a brand-new trailer for the game released by the development team via the Official Facebook Page. More after the break!

There isn't too much to say about the trailer beyond that it's an official introduction of RiCO as the the game's primary Operator. However, if you keep a closer look at the small window inside the trailer, you will see scenes of various games from the X series passing by while RiCO talks but. Note that one of them is not an X series game.

That's right, it's Mega Man 11. Why? Remember what Protodude told us previously, "other 'Mega Men' will make an appearance." Is this our first clue that classic series Mega Man will appear as an official, playable character?

More news soon!

  1. I gotta be honest, I completely despise that they went with some over the top anime girl voice and design. if you take something like alia's x8 voice, it's much more fitting. It's calmer and more serious, which is more in line with an operator's job. I don't really have a problem with her being in X dive since it's not a serious game and not part of the main story line but I hope to god she's not in x9 or if she is, that they let me choose an actual good character to operate my mission.

    1. We get it, you don't like the design. You posted this same exact thing in other posts. Get over it.

    2. Be happy he is saying that, if he wasn't there'd be none talking about the character at all.

    3. Yeah, not everyone can agree with you, other Unknown. You don't have to keep foisting your opinions on those of us who must beg to differ with you.

    4. Anon 1: Which already highlights a problem. Did Capcom really think that they were going to draw in new players using characters from an outdated franchise with outdated designs? I just don't see new players wanting to play the "Dad Rock" of platforming, on mobile, given Capcom's mobile track record. RiCO is 100% the "How do you do, fellow kids?" equivalent.

Perhaps that's Unknown's gripe. Not actually a problem since Reploid designs have already been all over the road. But rather, the principle of the matter. In this instance, Capcom loses nothing by trying to gain some thirsty whales. In today's world, the integrity of a franchise doesn't matter or could go into the negative if it's dead, rather than retcon and closely curate it to something that's respected and ultimately more profitable.

    5. I've seen far nastier criticism of Mega Man stuff than what Unknown is talking about.

  2. If Classic Mega Man is somehow involved in this, it's reminding me more and more of Rockman X Online. That's a good thing--it was my most anticipated project, moreso than Legends 3 or any of the other cancellations.

  3. I think it's safe to start formally calling the game "Mega Man X DiVE" from now on, no? Since the name's on the trailer and all.

  4. If other Mega Men will make a appearance, does that mean Model X or Model ZX will be in the game? I mean two stages from Mega Man ZX and Advent are there so it would make sense. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a MMZ theme stage in there too along with Zero's MMZ form.
