Capcom Japan today announced Rockman X Anniversary Collection 1 and Rockman X Anniversary Collection 2 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Anniversary Collection 1 will include X1 through X4 and Anniversary Collection 2 with X5 through X8. Both collections are due in Japan on July 26th.
In addition to the games themselves, both collections will feature their share of extra content. There's a concept art gallery, a music gallery, a merchandise gallery (nice!) and a video gallery featuring various trailers AND The Day of Sigma in its entirety. Various borders and filters will be available at your disposal too. They've even increased the resolution of X7 and X8! To top it all off, the collections will feature a brand-new "X Challenge" mode, where you fight multiple bosses from different games at the same time!
In Japan, the collections will receive individual physical editions as well as a physical 1+2 bundle. It's 2 discs on PlayStation 4. For Nintendo Switch, AC1 will be on the cartridge and AC2 will be a download code. The PC and Xbox versions will be digital only (again, this is for Japan).
In addition to the trailer above, you can check out some screenshots and artwork after the jump. And don't worry; western release info is forthcoming. Hang in there!
I was hoping they would include Mega Man X: Command Mission in there somewhere. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteX8 is looking nice, glad to have a new version of that.
ReplyDeleteThat challenge mode is super intriguing.
sweet. love the new art.
ReplyDeletecan't wait.
PS4 = 2 discs
ReplyDeleteSwitch = 1 cart + 1 DLC
Xbox = DLC only
Watch out, Capcom! Your bias is showing again!
I don't sweat X5-8 being DLC only on the Switch (they are the lesser of the X games), I sweat the very likely probability that North America will get both collections for PS4, Xbox but NOT Switch!
Interesting detail... the X1 Mavericks in the RMXAC1 artwork are in their classic designs, not the MHX redesigns. This is our first time getting non-chibi new art of those designs, if I'm not mistaken.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least many X bosses get a new art, I wish better translations for X2 and X6 in the american release.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing surprise to wake up to! Very impressed with that cover art, wow. Very impressed with their package as a whole, but kinda bummed no Command Mission as well. Or MHX considering The Day of Sigma is included. Either way, what package! Only real criticism I have is that if that's the only filter available, it'll remain off. lol
ReplyDeleteKinda bummed out that the Xtreme games and Command Mission aren't included with any of the collections. Still excited for these though!
ReplyDeleteSo amped! I hope X3 this time is the SNES version & not the SS/PS versions! The SNES one really drives that heavy metal inspired soundtrack home.
ReplyDeleteWhat is that armor he is wearing on the challenge mode screenshot?
ReplyDeleteHe's wearing the Ultimate Armor.
DeleteBroken record at this point, but wish that MHX was included in the first collection and command mission in the second
ReplyDeletePre-ordered PS4 and Switch bundles + goodies almost by instant muscle reflex. I am amazed. Will probably be doing the same for American version soon as it's available. I love X, you can have my money.
ReplyDeleteI want the special edition art.
ReplyDeleteespero que tenha X9 e remake do X2 dona capcom
ReplyDeleteHey clue me / us in here with a little more clarity. Will there be individual physical sets for both x collections on the switch. Or just the bundle with 1 physical and 1 download code...? Sorry if I misunderstood what you posted...
ReplyDeleteIn Japan (and only Japan) collection 1 AND 2 will have individual physical Switch releases. It will also be available as a bundle BUT Collection 1 is on a cartridge and collection 2 is a download voucher. Hope that helps.
ReplyDeleteyes! that is the exact info I was personally looking for me and my friends like our physical copies even if it happens to be a bit more expensive over all. Thank you for clarifying on that info!
DeleteThank you I'm going to see how I can import these to the US for the Switch.
DeleteSix good games bundled with X6 and X7. Oh well, I'll take it.
ReplyDeleteStupid amazon JP do not ship to the US. I want both on physical.
ReplyDeleteStupid Amazon JP does not ship to the US. I want both on physical !
ReplyDeleteIs Japan getting both titles in physical form for the Switch? Can anyone confirm this?
ReplyDeleteYes. They're getting individual physical releases on Switch.
DeleteThanks I noticed your earlier reply a little late and missed that bit of info. I went with Play Asia for now cause Amazon doesn't ship these to the US. Just in case anyone else is looking for a place to put an order in.
DeleteSo one final question and idk if this one has an answer or not but will this be like the Megaman Classic Collections where as you can switch between the english and Japanese versions of the games? That'd be cool if it can be done!
ReplyDeleteIf there is no confirmation I may still take my chances and try import both physical copies from japan just so I can have them
No Command Mission + no Maverick Hunter X + no Xtreme 1 & 2 = incomplete collection. Pass.
ReplyDeleteand no x3 ps version
