The first four Complete Works games have been on the US Playstation Store for five years now. Or do you happen to live in Europe, where they weren't released in any fashion?
Yes, Mega Man 2 did flicker that much. And Star Fox for the Super Nintendo is also a lot slower than you probably remember. Everything looks better through remakes and nostalgia goggles.
I'm not a nitpicker so very little gameplay (as in a frame of delay or something like that) or slight superficial differences don't bother me, what bothers me is Mega Man 2 for the billionth time.
I'm not really sure how you can make the claim that it looks better than a Virtual Console release. These all are the same ol' Mega Man 2 ROM running on an emulator. They should look and play nearly identically aside from choice of color palette for the emulator itself. Seems like confirmation bias for a new product, in my opinion.
Yikes, this color palette. At least it's not blurry. Legacy Collection still looks the best.
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with the color palette? It looks fine to me.
DeleteThat's how the game really looked...
DeleteHas Mega Man 2 always flickered so much?
ReplyDeleteStill not better than Complete Works, in any case. Wonder if we'll ever get ports of that aside from MMAC.

DeleteSo...Airman CAN be beaten. That song was a lie.

ReplyDeleteSame here. The amount of favoritism that game gets is just ridiculous.
DeleteSame. Should have put Mega Man 6 for the great music even though it took a hit gameplay wise.
DeleteWhat the heck is going on with that noise channel...? It's sounds a fair bit lower than it should.
ReplyDeleteI mean, it doesn't sound bad or anything, but it certainly sounds off.
