You didn't forget about Irene, did you? Rockman Online's newest Navigator stopped by the RMO blog not too long ago, but she's back again to properly introduce herself.
Before joining up with the UCA, Irene was orphaned when her two Reploid parents where tragically killed at an amusement park sieged by URA forces. Some time later, she pursued an education at the UCA education center, eventually becoming an official Navigator at the Hunter Agency.
Irene's top-notch analytical skills have propelled her to the highest five ranking Navigators; in fact, she's even credited with halting a sizable URA invasion on military base Gaia by decoding their plans in advance. More over, Irene has a knack for designing whole strategies and tactics in real time as battles unfold. Her fellow hunters have come to idolized her for skill, going so far as to declare her as a mascot.
In spite of her diligence, Irene is far from perfect. She's a little clumsy, often instigating a bunch of small mistakes. As of this writing, she has twenty warning from the Hunter Agency.
All in all, Irene sounds like a fun character. Hopefully, we'll be seeing more of her in Rockman Online... whenever it releases.
Thanks to Amunshen for the translation!
Finally, some info on (and the non-Christmas design of) Irene! :D
ReplyDeleteShe reminds me of Palette for some reason.
ReplyDeleteNone of these seem very Megaman-y to me.
ReplyDeleteHuh. She kind of reminds me of Pallette, wearing that IHHQ outfit. Right down to the glasses Pallette wore when doing R&D.
ReplyDeleteAnd now, we have a connection to the ZX/ZXA series with Irene. (totally implied, of course from the OP scenes) I'm loving that this games seems to pull mythology from everywhere and everything, as well.
ReplyDeleteFrom a design point of view, that tangent on her shoulder should have never happened. And right when I was thinking how high-quality the artwork is.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this will sound absurd to some, but I can't get over how flat-chested her design is. Not because I want fanservice, but because it doesn't represent the human form very accurately, which I understand is a goal as long as they're making clearly male and clearly female robots. It's especially peculiar given that they took the time to make the neck and shoulder section represent a seifuku (japanese school female uniform).
ReplyDeleteAlso she has a green Xbox A button : )
Reploid... parents? Since when do reploids have families?
ReplyDeleteHow do you have reploid parents? They're robuts. They are built by offscreen humans.
ReplyDeleteThey just happen to succeed on the account of this navigator? Overwhelming victories?
ReplyDeleteI will laugh so hard if Irene here winds up being the final boss working incognito. Remember, the thing from the trailer did have two long extensions coming from the head.
