Pretty spiffy stuff here: Archie Comics has released a trailer to get you pumped and ready for the May 11th debut of their Mega Man comic series. No, it's not movie trailer quality, but it gets the job done and the point across: the comic is going to be awesome.
Mega Man Issue #1 will hit North American newsstands on May 11th (May 4 for subscribers). Get equipped with a subscription at Archie Online.

MegaMan seems to be ready to shoot some robot butt!
ReplyDeleteCome on, April, you've been loafing around here long enough. It's time to pack your bags and leave! I need to clear out your room so that May can hurry up and get here already!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why they went with this flash animation trailer. I'm pretty sure they could have shown the same narrative intro with art from the comics they're putting together. It would have been some still images, but with good editing, it would have been fine and would have reflected the actual comic they're trying to sell. Spaz's art is awesome enough to do the comic justice. As it is, this flash isn't great quality art and doesn't represent the comic.
ReplyDeleteIt's still a neat trailer, I just would have done it completely different.

Whew, I agree with Dr. Light: "turn it off."
ReplyDeleteSeriously, that looked like it belonged on MAD or something.
Heh, I think it's a pretty good trailer. I like the survival mode music from Megaman 9 (or 10?) thrown on there, it fits it well.
ReplyDeleteI almost hate to admit it, but that... was pretty awesome. Except for Dr. Wily. His voice was pretty terrible and his speech funny. And why didn't the trailer mention those Robot Masters were Dr. Light's robots? Fans of the series know this, and why else would Dr. Light be as upset as he was, but still. Not everyone is familiar with the series.
ReplyDeleteMay 11th? I thought this issue was comming out next Wednesday?
ReplyDelete(@Capcom Fan) Actually, it's been confirmed all of the art in this trailer is from the comic.
ReplyDeleteWhile the video itself is pretty neat, and almost could have been the intro to a remake Mega Man on the NES (although yes, they were Light's robots), the voice acting for Roll (a male falsetto?) and Rock (way too old for his "age") were bad.
ReplyDeleteStill, fun nonetheless!
This was cool! I'm even more excited about the comic books now! :D
ReplyDeleteNifty! ...bad voice for Rock, though. He's a kid, mang!
ReplyDeleteHope it will be on the PSN as well. Sonic is.
