At the 2011 Wonder Festival, Kotobukiya exhibited a poster announcing their next Rockman project. Taking a break from the classic series, Kotobukiya looks to tackle the Zero series next with a model based off of none other than the red crusader himself: Zero!
A poster advertising the figure was spotted at this weekend's Wonder Festival taking place in Japan (pictured). Rockman Unity mascot Ucchy-san made this knowledge public via a lone tweet. Unfortunately, thanks to the angle of this photo, we cannot determine the figure's release date. There seems to be no indication of pricing, but I imagine that announcement is forthcoming.
If the past is any indication, images of the standard grey work-in-progress model should be surfacing in the very near future... that and other details.
I'll be keeping you posted!
*rages that they made a Zero model kit before they made an X one....and not even the X series design which is more appealing* :C
ReplyDeleteI think I just died and went to heaven. ; 3;
ReplyDeleteWhat? no Forte model kit.
ReplyDeleteDisappointed.
I'm sad that they're not doing Forte just yet, but at least this means they're willing to continue the Rockman line with awesome kits. I'm sure we'll see Forte eventually.
ReplyDeleteYES. MMZero Zero. YES. One that I'll actually get.
ReplyDeleteI reiterate for the billionth time... Zero fans get their asses kissed needlessly and undeservedly.
ReplyDeleteSweet! I didn't think Mega Man Zero Series Zero would be getting the Kotobukiya treatment! I'll definitely be getting this to replace the crappy Jazzware Mega man Zero Series Zero.
ReplyDeleteHere’s a thought, maybe they’re doing Zero-series Zero as Bandai might do X-series Zero.
ReplyDeleteYou have to admit, they both have very similar figures.
If they do Ciel and Leviathan, maybe...
ReplyDelete@70'sGuy
ReplyDeleteBandai is making an X figure which looks very similar to the Kotobukiya style. So there is really no need. They are also considering Zero too, so if Kotobukiya does Zero Zero, Bandai can do an X Zero. I'd buy 'em both. But Bass needed to be made first before any other series characters. Seriously. It'd be a whole set then. -_-
And WHAT, exactly, do you mean Professor Megaman?
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see what this Kotobukiya Z-series Zero will look like.
ReplyDeleteBut I already have my eyes... and my money... set on getting the X and Zero figures from D-Arts.
X3
awesome. They really should consider doing the zx series.
ReplyDeleteGah, I'm gonna be poor after all these upcoming figures and toys that I want. D-Arts X, SH Figuart Fem!ShinkenRed, Gokaiger Candy Toys, Kotobukiya Zero, D-Arts Zero (assuming X does well)
ReplyDeletelol! this kit is made especially to those who can't afford to get the real Zero resins and that can only cut, snap together, and apply stickers. lol! Kotobukiya just skipped to him to make money, not fan based or anything. lol!
ReplyDelete^
ReplyDelete"real Zero resins?" You're joking right? Those are fan made. Kotobukiya offers kits of true high quality AND, unlike fan made stuff, the profits go to Capcom and the Mega Man franchise.
GIMME!
ReplyDelete*punches the nearest person*
Another Zero from Megaman Zero, its been done already… so many times now, Kotobukiya should of sticked to Bass, Duo, Rush, the X series, things like that. Personally i think Kotobukiya just jumped to the Zero series just for money, because we all know how everyone wants those Megaman Zero resin kits. I guess this kit coming is for those who can’t afford the real resins and also those who can’t do more than just easy cut, snap together, and apply stickers.
ReplyDeleteAnd those saying YES! and excited are those who i’m talking about. But come on Kotobukiya, your leaving out Megaman’s trusty side sick Rush. Do a Rush that can change into Megaman’s jet armor and other modes, a Bass and then Treble who can also combine with Bass to form his armor. Sigma would of been way better too! We need villains not good guys!
ReplyDeleteYes! another good Zero figure, other than Jazwares pieces of s#@$#! I thought Jazwares was the only official or had all rights or something. lol! looks like they didn't! lol! Sorry Jazwares, just give it up, you can't make figures like these. Just fire all your designers and sculptors, you guys suck.
ReplyDeleteDon't you think Kotobukiya just jumped to Zero because Bandai already claimed to doing X and then Zero later on from the X series. Looks like Kotobukiya and Bandai are competing for the characters. Kotobukiya should of just sticked to the time line of the Megaman story because skipping to Zero from the Zero series kinda shows that they just doing it for the money business.
ReplyDeleteWell of course they're doing it for the money, they're a freaking BUSINESS. =\ If they really wanted to do it for the money, they prolly would have released the X series Zero to tie in with MvC3.
ReplyDeleteI'm super psyched for this because as far as I know the only RMZ Zero figure is that shitty Jazwares one that came out years ago. I mean, yeah, I would've liked an X model kit too, but there is D-Arts' X, and if Zero does well, they'll prolly consider doing others, y'know. :3
At least the X series had the Bandai model kits, just what did the Zero series have? Yeah, one figure, and one BAD figure at that. No Copy X, no four guardians, no Ciel, nothing. The only good ones have been fan made until now, and unless you're willing to wait several months and sell a pint of your virgin blood for each one, you won't have (m)any. Yeah, they should've at least made Forte, but I'm way more excited for an actual Rockman Zero kit. 8D
OMG i want it!
ReplyDeleteWhile everyone else is whining about what we didn't get, I guess I'll toss the EXE series. There are tons of unique and interesting-looking navis that would make for cool model kits.
ReplyDeleteHoping for Leviathan to be done, along with an EXE/SSR/ZX lineup.
ReplyDeleteAile and Harp Note would be awesome.
It'd be nice to see some ZX stuff. ZX has hardly anything outside of games. Plus, who doesn't want a model of Helios/Aeolus
ReplyDeleteOh well, it was nice while it lasted. A Dr. Wily kit would have been great! I guess it's skinny effeminate Zero figures from here on out. That seems to be what everyone likes.
ReplyDeleteA Wily kit would have kicked ass, but nope, gotta do whatever Bandai is doing GOTTA-GOTTA
ReplyDeleteSo let me get this straight, the first time we get an actually good Zero from the Zero series people bitch? What the hell. This fanbase is the worst.
ReplyDelete@Anon:
ReplyDeleteYou JUST noticed now that the fanbase is fucking stupid? XD
I realized it a long while back when people went batshit over me simply saying that they hate everything except MM2, MM9, MM10, MMX1-5, and Zero 1-4. (which is the truth, for majority of them)
^
ReplyDeleteNo, this fan base is not the worse, its the companies that don't listen. we were all expecting Bass, Rush, Duo, and etc. but Zero? ZERO???????? WHY ZERO????????????? What about X, Iris, Sigma, even Zero?????!!!!! and all other characters from the X series???????????????? how the hell did it go straight to the Zero series???????????????????????????? Kotobukiya owes us a explanation. and if they say its all based on fan based, thats all bull!
Zero is awesome, no matter the design.
ReplyDeletePrevious anon, it's Zero! Need explanation? Although I'd prefer a Wily and Bass model first, Zero is one of the most popular characters in the series, and appeared in more games than Bass and X.
ReplyDeleteThats lame, I would have rather had the X series Zero design in figure form instead. :(
ReplyDeleteAlright, relax fans. Let's talk about priority here. We've had countless rockman/protoman/bass figures and models over the years. I think many of you would agree that a MMZ style zero is the treasure with the least merchandise. I don't think Kotobukiya is going to toss those other Rockman franchises (on that note, I'm only pissed about how D-arts mentioned Zelda, Metroid, ZERO series zero, and we're stuck with one Rockman series, even though X, X1 armor, and Zero are going to kick ass), Bandai has taken those characters first. Remember, it's up to us, the fanbsase, to decide who does the most satisfying job with these figures, and we are able to dismiss any franchise that blows. Why, before I found the INTERNET, I settled with the Jazwares garbage. Bandai has a standing history with Rockman Models, so if they want to revive a series that they've already released, that's their loss (still, our gain... The X figure gets better and better each photo!). I applaud Kotobukiya for taking up the challenge of making the first GOOD official MMZ Zero model.
