If a robot's design being influenced by a sea sponge (which is a living thing like a human) is silly, than an actual sea sponge is silly, or X is silly, as he too is based on a living organism. I think the reason why people think these things are silly is because of the art style, if it were more realistic you would have people screaming it is too realistic and unmegaman.

Actually a robot based on a sea sponge with human intelligence characteristics is so practical, I can actually see something like that existing in this world in the not too distant future, doing things to help out aquatic life. I remember when the orbital elevator was introduced in X8, you had people straight ridiculing the idea as impractical, now scientist literally theorize that concept as being the MOST practical form of extraterrestrial transport.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4080026879350344019.post-63149089673315314292015-02-19T19:47:26.118-06:002015-02-19T19:47:26.118-06:00Defile? Let's not go that far, I'm not anon1, btw another anon wrote about your stuff on the "maverick roster" in the first worlds unit covers and solies a couple of posts down, and I agree with it. I don't find wired sponge cyber peacock flame mammoth acid- etc all that silly, in cases of the original X mavericks even less so in MMHX (except chill), given that I would guess if that series continued all the other entries would get more serious too. Also you forgot where I put deliberate, all that stuff you named as you can tell are subject to interpretation and opinion, and are not explictly comedic of otherwise.

Here's more proof that this fanbase just votes out serious or dark any chance it gets, Mega Man Maverick Hunter was a new series attempting to retell the story and redesign the game mechanics of the original series in a seperate universe. People couldn't even get past how dark it was long enough to realize it was a seperate series not at all threatening to the original. Capcom knows this, that is why X is never "grimdark", Capcom knows the fans don't like radical change and usually don't accept it, but X is and continues to get more serious as time goes on, almost like the creators are easing into it.

I still believe Marvel is a superior comic label than Archie holding superior series and characters, you are free to disagree. I feel they for the most part handle their characters properly, usually when comedic moments happen to characters that are usually not associated with that in the comics, it feels natural and well balanced.

Wow you sound so salty, how do you know I haven't, which I have voiced my opinions on more prominant sites btw, and I'm not just reiterating it here? What do you even think the comment section is for anyway? It's definitely not for circle jerking each others' thoughts, or at least shouldn't be, I'll tell you that much. Also name calling never affected me, I could easily call others voicing their opinions names, like you for example, but I'm mature enough to address the subject and stick with it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4080026879350344019.post-89002401825959030042015-02-19T19:42:20.130-06:002015-02-19T19:42:20.130-06:00Last I checked, the Megaman book is actually doing...Last I checked, the Megaman book is actually doing pretty well, or at least well enough to be considered one of the best comics of 2014.

Either way, I find it hilarious how mortally offended you two are getting over a comic company doing (benign) things to earn money. But your compl...You are free to voice your opinion. But your complains are asinine. What you want sound like that a Megaman/X comic should be devoid all humor and their own personality. The X games have a more serious tone compared to classic or BN, but are far from grimdark. The Maverick roster consist the like of a sponge, a seahorse, a peacock, and a mammoth with a detachable tank. That also goes into X and Zero, as they use the powers of the Maverick, which included robot dragonflies and ice sleds in shape of penguins.
Marvel also isn't above doing having fun with their own characters. Making even the most threatening villain fall into comedic moments and self mockery.

And if you really want to voice your distaste for them "defiling" Megaman, why don't you take it to Archie.com or someplace and tell them to their faces and not some tiny corner of the internet to talk behind their backs. Because getting all uppity here just paints you as a crybaby. Tell me what does that solve?

People speaking up and not supporting it at least lets the creators know what went wrong if it tanks or was not accepted largely. Contrary to popular belief, not giving your opinion and not supporting a product in combination, is the worst way of letting companies know what you like. All that does is lose company assets without them knowing why, then the company just gives up on it.

Also Marvel is ok, I like some of their stories, but there are more comic book companies out there than Marvel or DC.

It is cool that you think the covers are hilarious, I've personally never really associated X with deliberate hilarity or self mockery. When I think of X and Zero I think of stern all business kind of demeanors, in fact the series goes out of its way to represent the characters this way, and not "happy fun time". That is why I like the series too, I have other avenues for lightheatedness, too much actually. A lot of people complain about everything getting dark or serious, but I think the opposite dwarfs that style and is way more common. That is at least my reasons for not caring about that cover and what it represents.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4080026879350344019.post-7372473583553259372015-02-19T08:44:40.572-06:002015-02-19T08:44:40.572-06:00Archie Megaman comics are ALWAYS going to suck so ...Archie Megaman comics are ALWAYS going to suck so long as they remain attached to Sonic Comics like some deformed siamese twin. I've ...Archie has done a lot to appeal to fans. I've been surprised how faithful they've even kept to the source material, and I've even liked much of the new content they've put in their works. But they are a business first, and a business is going to do what is more profitable to bolster sales in order to keep the brand alive. The crossovers sell, not only due to now having two fanbases to pool profits from, but now you've caught the interest of gamers who are curious. And if you don't like the crossovers, you don't have to read them, simple as that. You're not obligated to pick it up. Archie has done the best they can to keep the classic storyline untouched by it, from what I've seen. Do I particularly like the Sonic Boom crossover? Not really. But I'll give it a shot, and maybe it will surprise me. At least they're treating the license with more discretion and respect than Capcom ever has in the last several years. I would hate Marvel to have the Mega Man license. They wouldn't know what to do with it. Have you seen most of the written work Marvel has done with their comics in the last ten years? It wouldn't have the same heart and genuine passion that Ian Flynn and Spaz have put in it, that much is for sure. Those guys are total loyalists to our favorite franchise, and have treated it with as much care as you can in a business such as that. The fact that we even have a comic as good as this is still baffling to me. I say quit your whining and find something else to complain about. You can buy it, or not. Simple as that.

Btw, that cover with Amy braiding Zero is hilarious. I think that alone warrants an automatic buy. :PAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4080026879350344019.post-25723431810312309742015-02-19T00:55:29.525-06:002015-02-19T00:55:29.525-06:00I love the way Sigma's drawn each time he show...I love the way Sigma's drawn each time he shows up in these covers. If they treated him exactly as Archie did, but instead we get crossovers with Spider-Man, X, X-Men and such, that would be a step up in my very honest and direct opinion.
