  2. Now this is the kind of game Capcom should co-op

  3. Damn that's good. That'd be sad if this fan game turns out to be better than any official X game... Which so far looks that way.

Albeit Capcom does't have to worry about that right now since this game is set to release in 20XX or 2045 for us regular calendar users.

    1. You speak true. I HIGHLY doubt anything is coming at this point, since I am not blessed with contacts who give me secret info I can't share.
What's more, Capcom apparently didn't learn a goddamn thing in the last decade. They have pretty much reverted to doing exactly what they were doing before the hiatus. Except for what the fans actually ask for. No one asked for Mega Man Fully Charged... Not one person requested Rockman Ability...
I am getting tired of being disappointed, and current rumors/leaks do not make me excited at all.

To be fair, neither Mega Man Fully Charged and Rockman Ability were produced by Capcom. First was a cartoon by Man of Action, and latter was developed by Enterrise and published by Spiky. In both cases, I figure Capcom was approached by the respective parties, and they allowed them to use the Mega Man license. From there, how they turned out, was probably out of their hands, though Capcom did from my understanding specifically tell to make Fully Charged its own thing.

Capcom seems to have no interest in bringing their brand (and it's licenses) under control. None at all. I've worked for companies who know how to handle their brands. Maybe JKB Games can just license this game and make it official. I've been waiting 15 years to play the next X game. I will laugh my ASS off if this fan game comes out first. I hope it does.

    4. Problem is that if this fan made game takes too long to make, the designer might die before it gets done, then it will never be released unless he passes the project to multiple people first.

On a side note, though it seems twitch videos delete automatically if not archived, according to my research after I noticed I could not find most older videos on JKBGames page, I did watch a video that showed X fighting Strike in a virus-like stage with a Wily W in the background, and another with Zero in a kind of viral stage like the Strike scene but instead of the boss fight, it was an entire stage with lots of spikes, bars to hang from, more modernized looking advanced versions of some original MM classic enemies, like the Sniper Joe, Big Eye, something called Adhering Suzy (from the wiki) which is the eye enemy with a suction cup on each of its 4 sides in MM1 and even MMX4, etc. A strong indication that Wily could be the final enemy in this game.

Here is the one where you fight Strike with the W background in the virus-like textured stage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRXZ8rucVic

    5. " if this fan made game takes too long to make"
its been in the making for at least 12+ years
that "too long" boat has come and gone several times already

    6. I know, and my point still stands. If it takes much longer, it will get to the point where he may pass away, then there will be zero chance of it ever being out. So some people saying just have patience aren't taking that into consideration. Of course lately he has been making more progress than ever, as seen in frequent video posts here: https://www.twitch.tv/jkbgames

    7. For Rockman Ability it was produced by Capcom, Enterrise is actually a part of Capcom Japan itself, it's their Pachislot/Pachinko division. Spiky constructed and distributed the actual physical cabinet unit. Fully Charged had concepts from Capcom themselves during development, both parties have to agree to have the project become a reality. While the whole "no-one asked for these!" having Rockman/Mega Man expand into different forms of media is a way of getting the brand out to a new audience who may not have even played a Mega Man game before, bringing more attention & fans into the brand. Fully Charged was aimed at a young Western audience who probably haven't experienced the games before, Ability was aimed at older Japanese fans + the pachinko/pachislot market can be pretty lucrative in Japan, Capcom have made pachislot/pachinko versions of most of their IPs. This is also why X DiVE exists, mobile gaming is extremely lucrative, especially in the Asian market where more people play on their phones than on consoles. Regular console games are still coming (heck Tsuchiya has even confirmed this is happening!) but games take time to make and the brand also has to expand in order to survive too. I'm thankful fan games like this exist to fill the gap between releases and the amount of love for the franchise the makers of these games have really does shine through however these also take time to make especially when it's only at most a handful of people making it in their spare time with a limited budget with zero return.

    8. Oh I understand that. And sort of agree.
Successful brands don't HAVE to re-invent themselves. Different mediums, sure. But I'd bet the number of new fans/players FC brought in is minimal. Same with Ability and X DiVE. Meanwhile, the existing fan base has asked for new games for years and crickets. The priorities are all out of whack.
The upcoming movie will NOT result in a swelling of fans either, I can almost guarantee it.

Fully Charged will probably be a slow burn, years ago people felt the same about Ruby Spears yet I hear of people getting into the franchise from watching episodes of it, same for the NT Warrior show. Give it a few years and there will be kids who got into the series from watching or reading Fully Charged material. Ability like I said was for older fans in Japan that remember the games from childhood but maybe haven't played console games for years and say what you will about X DiVE but it has brought a lot of people in and a LOT more people have been talking about Mega Man X again because of it. I get that the need for a new game is strong but Capcom can't just crank out games like they used to do, they'd just lose money. Games are still coming we got Mega Man 11, last year we got the Zero/ZX collection, personally I never thought they'd ever put ZX series on modern consoles but here we are! Tsuchiya confirmed the next project is underway so all that is needed is patience, I'd rather the team take their time and do it right instead of rushing 3-4 different games to market when Mega Man games have never really performed the same as say Monster Hunter or Resident Evil. As for the upcoming movie none of us know what will happen with that, that all depends on the quality of the movie, the character portrayal how it's released etc. All I'll say again is patience, the series is in a better place to get a new X series game now than it has been the last 10 years or more. Capcom's "priority" is to keep their franchises going, whether that's through toys, comics, phone games, console titles etc, they've done the exact same with all their IPs, there are pachislot versions of Resident Evil, Devil May Cry & Street Fighter, Street Fighter even got a new phone game released recently in Asia.

  4. I like it, though I would prefer at least X4-X6 detail, if not better, but I do keep up on it here: https://www.twitch.tv/jkbgames

Anyways, I think Wily could be the ultimate enemy in this. I see gameplay with the W in the background and a level with classic-like enemies, including an eye jumper security bot like in the 1st MM game.

  5. Awesome. I want to see the bosses. So mysterious!

  6. The fact that this is better than any of MM/MMX game intro still blows my mind.

  7. This game blows my mind with how much effort and detail has been put into it for so long. I've managed to keep my expectations in check since it's a fangame, but seeing it in action just makes me HYPED.

  8. How is this game taking so much longer than even Mega Man Unlimited did? How…?!

… guh, I can't even be mad. It's still as perfect as perfect can be for a fan game. Sooo much attention to detail – even the slightest thing!

    1. To be fair, there’s all this *16 bit* sprite work as opposed to 8. And then there’s the dialogue and music and AI and many many MANY new features not present in the vanilla games. They ain’t just missing Megaman X, they’re practically reinventing it!

  9. Looks amazing. Only complaint is the explosion from charge shot staying on screen so long. Not sure if its still an active hurtbox but man. This looks so fun and keeping it at its roots.

    1. The Ultimate Armor uses the Plasma charge shot from X4, which has always behaved that way (and yes, it's an active hurtbox).
