Mega Man 2019 Roadmap (June to October)

Plenty of months have passed since we published the Mega Man roadmap for the first half of 2019. Since then, plenty of things have been announced to be released in the second part of the year. It's time time to give the roadmap an update!

Full Size

Next month, two new Nendoroid figures – X and the Rabbit Ride Armor –  join the already big line-up of Rockman Nendoroid. In July, we will get the Shingo Adachi Artworks, an artbook compiling the most notable work of this famous animator and character designer. Shingo Adachi has worked on a plethora of Rockman projects from the animated scenes in Maverick Hunter X, Mega Man X4 and Mega Man 8 to the anime series of Rockman.EXE Axess, Rockman.EXE Beast+, Rockman.EXE Stream, Rockman.EXE: Hikari to Yami no Program (movie) and RyĆ«sei no Rockman Tribe. While the book is about his career and not entirely focused on Rockman, the book is expected to have 272 pages. I think we can expect a good amount of pages dedicated to our favorite blue robot/Net Navi.

UDON Entertainment are reprinting the Mega Man Zero and Mega Man Battle Network Complete Works in June and August respectively. This is very much welcome not only for the quality of the books, but also because nobody wants to pay ridiculous prices for the old paperback versions at auction.

Normal Ver., Charge Shot Ver., Max Armor

In August and September, Kotobukiya launches their new model kits. It's the long-awaited come back after they released model kits of Mega Man, Proto Man, Roll and Zero so many years ago. A third model kit has been announced already (Rockman X3 Max Armor) but with no release date yet. If the line is successful, they intend to expand the line-up so you better buy them!

September 11th, 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of the Ruby Spears Mega Man cartoon. While nothing official has been announced to commemorate the show, it undoubtedly has a place in Mega Man history. You can expect to see lots of fan-related works!

And before wintertime comes, we will have the chance to relive two classics, Mega Man: The Wily Wars and Mega Man The Power Battle are re-releasing on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis mini console and the mammoth plug-and-play Capcom Home Arcade, respectively.

Before you raise your fist and scream, "No games!" do know that, something is coming... albeit it won't be a console game.

Let us know if you are planning to add any of these goods to your collection in the comments!

  1. Yeah, it's definitely not a console game...

Dude, I love your articles/site, but trying to dispel a completely legitimate complaint by teasing us with what is almost certainly an incoming greedy gacha cashgrab is kind of... odd. You really don't have to create hype for something that's likely going to piss off most fans of the series.

    1. It's not gacha.

It's actually something I think a lot of people will react to it and say "Oh this should've been on consoles"

    2. dude i've been party of the megaman fan community for YEARS (since like the old atomic fire site was a thing) and i've come to protodudes site everyday he wouldn't let us down like that

    3. Whoa, seriously? I do hope they don't eff it up, then.

Call me cynical if you want, but mobile games don't exactly have good rep as far as monetization goes

    4. Thank god it's not Gacha.

    5. Pre-emptive, Azdrerios. I realize it's Capcom we're talking about and we'd be fools to think there isn't some form of purchasing given that it's on mobile, but we have 0 information to be making that negative of an assessment.

Protodude, good to hear! Kind of nervous about the controls if it's the "way back when" game/franchise as opposed to the "proto-mobile" one. Even if the "proto-mobile" one has gacha-like elements, it already had some trading that functioned like that.
...if it's the other way around, that's really weird.

    6. Is there a chance it could get a pc/console port? I'm willing to keep an open mind... but my only problem with mobile games, is preservation.

Once the servers go down or the game stops being officially supported, you can no longer play it. We've seen it happen with nearly every major mobile game.

Unless this is a single player game like the godawful IOS X1 port, odds are whatever this is will suffer the same fate every other mobile game does... you wont be able to play it after a while.

    7. Xover should have been on consoles. Maybe then it wouldn't have been a huge joke. :P

    8. This is what Mega Man has been reduced to, hyping up mobile (as in phone) games....

    9. Could it be any cancelled games? (MMX first-person shooter, Megaman Universe, and maybe even Legends 3...)

    10. phone games are cancer gacha or not

    1. Wasn't Capcom supposed to announce this mystery app by now? I've been expecting news any day now.

I can't wait for those Koto kits :) I really hope they make more. A Zero and repaint is certain. I wouldn't mind an X4/Nova Armor, or any of the canon armors for that matter. Done right, they could easily release the X1 and Light armor (MHX) variant using the same mold. And I'd kill for official Iris and Alia models.

I already got the MM Zero book, maybe I'll look into the EXE book.

  4. I will buy anything X related and then cry about being broke, as I have for quite some time now.

  5. I'm interested in the Shingo Adachi Artworks book. I would buy it as long as it comes loaded with at least some X related art. Any way to know this before hand?

  6. So yeah, it's cool to see the actual 2019 roadmap with great items like the 2 artbooks!
I just can't wait for the Max Armor, absolute fan needed!! I'm ready for August X model kit, the polarized kit having beautiful blue accessories shot and effects but I'll go with the classic.
I have hope for Iris/Double/Colonel models kit, and others rare characters! Frankly if they also release X1/X2/X4 and X6 Full Light armor I'll buy them all. Take my money Kotobukiya for the Maverick Hunter sake.

  11. these figures are cool and I'm glad they're reprinting the MMZ and BN artbooks(I'm definitely getting them) but is it so much to ask for a new X game to be in development? damn!

  12. But, if the process is caught by Google and traffic suddenly dips down, then there one excuse, "It happened due to changes in Google's algorithm" will be loudly hearable to your ears. Don't fall for a bad company. Zoekmachine optimalisatie
