Rockman X 25th Anniversary Logo Revealed

So this is interesting. For the first time in the franchise's history, an individual series has it's own anniversary logo. The packaging for the upcoming Rockman X & Rockman X Mega Missions box set contains a unique Rockman X 25th anniversary logo. You can see it here in the top right corner of the package. And hey, check this out – the silhouette is from Maverick Hunter X. Interesting, no?

So what's so special about all this? Well, it implies a campaign celebrating the X series' 25th anniversary (December 17th, 2018) is in the works. The logo will likely find itself attached to various commemorative goods and merchandise throughout the year. It'll probably show up on the packaging for the X Legacy Collection(s), too. Point is, whatever Capcom are planning it's significant enough to warrant this unique branding.

All we can do right now is speculate, I guess. Stay tuned!

(Thanks to CapKobun, MegaDegaDrive and for the tip!)

    1. Well... After MM Legacy Collection 1 & 2, MM11 was announced. Does that mean that after the MMX collection there will be...!? (And afterwards, Mega Man Legends Collection and MML3?)

    2. MMLC1 was the MAJOR ignition for MM11 as it confirmed demand was still there. So you can bet that sales of the MMXLC will determine if X9 gets released.

    3. sales depending.
all i know is im getting a physical of 11, and probably a physical of x. unless they do the half of it as a download, then a physical copy is pointless.

  4. I hope that logo is a mock-up. Because, I recognize every single asset they used, there.

Then again, the 30th Anniversary logo, for Mega Man was pretty "cut-and-paste-y," too, so…

  6. Shouldn't Zero be on the logo since he's the actual star of the X series?

    1. Technically that should be Axl, he's the most recent star.

    2. We all know Signas is the real star here.

    3. You're wrong, Green Biker Dude is the true star.

  8. that's unusual that a sub-series in the Mega Man brand get its own anniversary logo. They've never done something like this before. what is going on I wonder.

  9. Wait didn't Star force have its own logo? Not sure I remember though.

    1. The 15th and 20th anniversary logos for the whole franchise featured BN and SF Mega Man respectively as they were the most recent incarnations of the Blue Bomber at the time. Perhaps that's what you're thinking of?

    2. The one with Star Force Mega Man one was Mega Man 20th anniversary logo (see the ZXA trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xojCB10BPi4), and similar thing happened with BN where it was used for the 15th anniversary.

    3. You know Mega Man was 10 by the release of Mega Man legends... They just straight passed that guy though.

Maybe they'll save him for 35th with a new Mega Ga Man Legen--- aaaand canceled.

Stop it with canceled joke. STOP IT!

  14. Mega Man X in a new game Capcom Vs. Capcom please with enhanced moveset including:
    (1) Move while charge.
    (2) 4 More special weapons. Preferably Lightning Web X4, Gravity Well/Squeeze Bomb and a few others.
    (3) Chargable Special weapons during Armor.
    Also Mega Man X9.

    1. Exactly. He should pretty much feel as fun to play as the average/sum of all of his mainline games, with some liberties taken here and there to better fit him into a fighting game. None of that weird hamstrung "better not make him too much like Zero" bullshit.

For those "few others" I'd suggest Triad Thunder, Strike Chain, Speed Chaser, and maybe one more from X1. I'm thinking either Rolling Shield or Homong Torpedo.

Maybe throw in a good old bi-directional moving beam super. It'd be like Ryu's, but in two directions--one for each buster--ideal for center-screen deployment

  15. I am posting the link here too since it relates to the mega man x legacy collections.

    http://www.bbfc.co.uk/releases/mega-man-x-legacy-collection-1-2-gallery-extras-video

The reason why I wanted to post this link is because it show some of the video content in the collections. It has trailers for MMX1-8 but also the day of sigma ova even though MHX is not in the collection. As you know the MMX 25th anniversary logo has a silhouette of MHX in it and MMLC2 had a teaser for MM11 in the extras even though it wasn't in the collection. So I was thinking that this could be a teaser for a MHX remaster or sequel. But that's just my theory.

    1. I think you're right, but on the other hand, unless they're adding a lot more to the base MHX package, and maybe teasing MHX2 and 3 or something, an MHX remaster doesn't sound like such a hot announcement for the 25th anniversary on its own.

    2. Very true. One thing they could do is port MHX. Do MHX 2 and 3 then bundle them in a "X1-3 remakes" collection. Call it Mega Man Mavrick Hunter X Origins or something like that. Then put a teaser of X4-6 remakes in there too If I were to be honest though I would prefer to get a MMX9 first before we get anymore remakes.

    3. I'd prefer a more solid remake series that even retcons MHX, but only after the X series gets a solid reintroduction in the form of X9.
