"Quint's Revenge" - Fan Game Gives Quint His Due

It should come as no surprise Mega Man fan games continue to thrive in the absence of official titles. Here's one such project. Quint's Revenge, brought to you by Sprites Inc., stars the titular Mega Man from the far future. The twist here, Dr. Light knew of Dr. Wily's trip through time to reprogram Mega Man. Now free from Wily's control, Mega Man, i.e Quint, sets out for revenge.

The game adheres closely to Mega Man 2 and 3 but moves at a much quicker pace. The whole game is built around Quint's seldom seen abilities, like Sonic Dash, ducking, and ledge grabbing. It's an interest twist of the tried-and-true NES formula. Though still in beta, the game spans fifteen stages (8 Robot Masters, an intro stage, 6 fortress stages).

If you like trying out Mega Man fan games, I definitely recommend it! I only sampled it a small bit so far, but I was really taken by the new elements. You can give it a spin here!

  1. If anyone's wondering, Word of God™ has it that the current soundtrack is a placeholder and a new version will be coming out soon, so keep an ear out for that.
(Though I personally kinda like the simplistic renditions, myself...)

You're welcome, folks who weren't happy with the old soundtrack. ;3

    2. Damn, I already started a game with the build 1.0.27. I guess I'm going to download 1.0.29 after finishing the game (as soon as I finish my exams)

    3. I'm so glad that this game filled the gap on Quint's existance as "Mega Man from the Future", because without that bit of evidence, and him not returning to his time coordinance, the game's timeline would fall apart. Just like Megaman Unlimited, if a character was not given a proper use to the classic timeline after it's introduction, it's useless; and like Zero's appearance in Megaman Unlimited, Quint's return to his time coordinance in Quint's Revenge did do well.

  2. Glad to know MMF2/CTF2.5 is still being used for fan games like this. :D

I tried it for a bit. very different from mega man's default control, and the crouching seems weird. and I think the pogo should be like a Rush weapon where you can use it anywhere.

  3. Quints seldom seen ability's? He's been in one title and all he did was summon a jackhammer and jump around.

And while similar, R Shadow dashed with a beam-buster sword

    2. I don't remember him or the RMK units in the manga. I own the whole 6 vol run that Udon put out, and I just skimmed Megamix and didn't see him in it.

    3. Ishihara's manga, the one heavily Astro Boy influenced.
