  1. I've already voted for Zero in the Smash Bros. Fighter Ballot.

  2. Unless Sonic and Pac-Man get a second playable character as well, I can't really agree with another Mega Man character being playable in Smash. (But I would love to play Zero if not for my reason for not wanting it)

    1. If we were to get a second playable Sonic character, I would want Shadow the most. In fact, I bet more people will vote for him rather than Tails. As for Pac-Man, I think we would get Ms. Pac-Man as an alternate swap for Pac-Man.

    2. "...want Shadow..."

Hooray... Dark Pit 2.0. Now with even more edge.

I'd really rather see more ACTUAL villains like Ridley and K. Rool show up before more "I look bad, but I'm really a good guy, aren't I original?" characters.

    3. Shadow is not a complete clone of Sonic. He has Chaos Spears, Chaos Blast, and Chaos Control. Moves that Sonic doesn't have.

    4. Sonic can use Chaos Control, you doof.

  4. The last thing we need is Zero in yet another fighting game. I understand Zero is a popular character, but Jesus Tap-dancing Christ. I would have personally preferred the costumes be alts for Mega Man. If X were a playable character, that'd be awesome. It would be the Link to his Toon Link, so to speak. So far I've voted for King K. Rool and Geno.

    1. I'm right there with you tbh (I'd rather they put X in as a unique character). However, if Zero wins an official ballot to be the next inclusion for Smash Bros. and Capcom says yes they gotta out him in. It would literally be a disservice to keep him out "just because." While I don't think that will happen, if the majority of fans want Zero Nintendo should by all means put him in.

    2. Yup, voted for King K. Rool as well. He'd be such an awesome addition to the roster and we need more villains in the game.

    3. I agree with both of you.

I'm personally sick of Zero myself, though I was never really a fan of the character anyway. There are definitely other characters from the various series I'd prefer to see put in over him.

That said, as the 2nd Anon said, if the votes show that Zero is most requested (after Mega Man himself of course who was 2nd most requested 3rd party period ), then by all means.

  5. No thanks. I want Mega Man games, period.

  6. As much as I would for there to another MM rep, I voted for a completely new nintendo IP and went with an Inkling from Splatoon. New games got to represent! Also they look faaaaaaantastic!

  7. I voted for Mega Man X! the dream is not death!!!!

  8. Keep in mind there's no rush! We have until October to get our votes in... that's plenty of time for some newer IP to come into the limelight and come off as Smash-worthy. (Inklings from Splatoon would be A-OK by me, I'm envisioning some fun zone control mechanics that I think Sakurai would make work really well.)

I'm already pretty happy with the amount of Mega Man stuff in Smash. It's an amazing treatment.

  9. Give me a Bass costume/fighter and I can rest happily.

  10. Voted Zero just to spite the butthurt I'm seeing up there.

    1. Those comments seem pretty well mannered to me, even if you disagree.

Does not caring for a character count as "butthurt" now?

    2. More like voted Zero because you're butthurt from seeing the criticism up there.

    3. @Anon1:"The last thing we need is Zero in yet another fighting ("fighting" lol) game."

Next guy agrees and wants X............X of all people in Smash, well I guess Smash does have a knack for very similar reps.

Last guy agrees but is relatively benign. Anyway, point is not caring /= actively expressing disapproval. Someone that really "does not care" for the character would just simply list the characters they do care for and be on their way.

"Rather than see some 2nd rate spinoff or... UGH... Zero in the game,"

Yeah I know this guy is below and after the fact but still, I thought it was funny and threw it in. Fun fact the Mega Man fan sites/members are practically the only sites I see "sick of and don't like" Zero comments. Another fun fact is Zero is literally the best or one of the best characters in terms of competitive gameplay in every single fighting game he's appeared in, including the SNK developed SNKvsC Chaos for all of you Capcom loves Zero conspirators. That must mean something, although I do not consider Smash a fighting game.

      --------------

@Anon2: Yeah that could be true, but it's more like.... you mad.

    4. Zero being "the best or one of the best characters in terms of competitive gameplay" doesn't mean much more to me than the fact that Capcom is pretty bad at balancing their fighting games.

Any character can be "good" in a fighting game if you throw balance out the window.

    5. SNK vs Capcom Chaos = Developed by SNK. Reading comprehension = low.

Also as I recall, Brawl was so unbearably broken and noncompetitive that Nintendo fanboys hacked and created a version of the game to make it playable. Smash Bros. Pikachu was the best character, Melee Fox, Brawl Meta Knight, SSB3DS Rosalina WiiU Diddy Kong. I'm sure a new undisputed best character will come from the upcoming patch and DLC too.

In fact name me a fighting game that doesn't have a best character or that is perfectly balanced. Nevermind that, name me a fighting game better balanced than the current Ultra Street Fighter 4, or Super Street Fighter 4 if your excuse is gonna be 'Capcom had time to patch it'.

  11. Megaman alone was more than I would have ever expected or hoped for in a Smash Bros. game.

Rather than see some 2nd rate spinoff or... UGH... Zero in the game, I voted for the Dragon Quest Hero. 8 costume variations, 8 Heroes, and a worldwide frenzy of delighted DQ fans. Okay, America not so much. Dragon Quest for Americans is literally pearls before swine. But many millions would clamor for some DQ representation in Super Smash Bros.

    1. I voted for the DQ Hero too! AND suggest the 8 different heroes, as alternate skins (it just makes too much sense!) It might not get that many votes - but I think it should be taken seriously as a real suggestion, especially given how much Japan loves Dragon Quest.

    2. Wow i thought i was alone in voting for someone from dragon quest lol except instead of the hero i actually submitted Slime Knight.
Although I definitely think the Hero would be awesome too.

  12. I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE Zero in the game! A Megaman char would be a bit much if they just had another buster! Perhaps skins for Megaman would be sufficient in that case. X, Exe, maybe even Protoman, but it'd be hard to play as just a skin or alt costume without that trademark whistle at the beginning of a battle!

I mean, Zero would bring swordplay, the cold, battle-hardened attitude, maybe they could get Lucas Gilbertson in there for some quotes. I might be going on a limb here. Lol my thing is this, that Zero IS popular still! His fighting styles, techniques, all were so exciting to use in (most) of the games!

But I also got to admit, Bass, Roll, or even a playable Wily would rock SO hard.

    1. I respect and appreciate your opinion on the matter, but I did want to say something in regards to:

"A Megaman char would be a bit much if they just had another buster!"

I understand where you're coming from, but do you know how many swordsmen are in Smash? Not to say Zero would play exactly like any of them. Just something I noted.

    2. You have a good point! There are a lot of sword fighters as it stands, aren't there? Though it would be exciting to have a Megaman rep in that bunch, something new, maybe unusual, wouldn't hurt either!

Bass with a rapid shot, multi directions, would be unique. Give him Treble Boost as a Final Smash. Wily in a mechanical vehicle as a counter to Bowser Jr, too! Lotta possibilities! No matter the choice, I can't wait!!

Of course, Roll with her broom like in Powered Up would be fantastic!

  13. Barrett from DASH 3! He is to cool to not be in a game (Aero got in a rhythm game...)

And also the other cool ones like Bass, Zero, Vile, the 4 Guardians, Volnutt, Tron, Teisel, MegaMan.EXE, ProtoMan.EXE, Bass.EXE, Colonel.EXE, SFMM, Rogue, ... And every boss, if this isn't asking much. :P
