Mega Man X First Armor Confirmed for Dead Rising 3

As many of you know, the Dead Rising games frequently feature Mega Man fan service, with Dead Rising 3 being no exception. Revealed in the trailer above, new protagonist Nick Ramos will don Mega Man X's First Armor.

According to Polygon, the outfit will be awarded to players upon finishing the game. The X-Buster comes separate; awarded to those who successfully complete the devilishly hard Nightmare Mode. Click here for more details and images.

Dead Rising 3 debuts November 22nd.

    1. Even worse - cameos you were entirely expecting.

  2. That looked awesome! I love the Mega Man/Capcom gear in the Dead Rising series. I'm going to wait for the Xbox One to drop in price before I'd ever get one, unless this game comes to PC then I'd just get the PC version of this. I wonder what other cameos are in this game.

    1. Don't bother. Why bother supporting something you don't believe in? I mean, Inafune isn't working on the games anymore. It's like having a body without a soul ya know....

Also the shameless "misuse" of Mega Man...

    2. What? I'm a fan of both Mega Man and Dead Rising. One thing I've always liked about Dead Rising was their tradition of Mega Man cameos. Not only that but the game is being made by the team that Inafune trusted to make Dead Rising 2. So no, I do believe in this, it's an ongoing tradition to the series and I don't understand why I should be angry. In fact, I'd imagine I'd be disappointed if they didn't do this.

I know people want a new Mega Man game. I feel for them, I really do, but I'm tired that it seems like anything that any branch of Capcom celebrates of Mega Man is taboo to enjoy. I understand that it's not for everyone but I for one enjoy the Mega Man Rocks album because of my love for the bands the Protomen and Megas and I appreciate that Brelston from the USA branch organized it and For Ever Lasting Peace.

Now don't get me wrong, I want a new Mega Man game like everyone else but I'm willing to wait if it means that we get a product with great quality. Capcom has screwed up in the past but they've still managed to release some good games such as RE Revelations, Monster Hunter 4, and Phoenix Wright.

Sorry for the rant but I'm going to continue enjoying Mega Man. There are clearly people at Capcom who still care, it's not like Capcom is a singular being. It's a company made up of many people. Even if the higher ups don't care for Mega Man it doesn't mean the entire company does.

There is still love for our Blue hero.

    3. There is no love for our Blue hero except for whoring him out as cameos or to slap his face on merch.

Mega Man is dead, thank god for Mighty No. 9.

    4. I strongly disagree, if Mega Man were truly dead, then we'd be seeing absolutely nothing dealing with Mega Man. That includes his appearance in Super Smash Bros.

    5. He's like a zombie though! So funny that I mentioned that.....with Dead Rising and all lol.

    2. Happy Birthday Mega Man, you deserve SOOO much better than generic cameos and costumes for dead rising dude and Zero.

  4. inb4-- oh. Someone already whined it's not a new Mega Man game. Two people, in fact.

    Never mind. :>

    1. ...another day in Mega Man fandom. >_>

I've gotta say, though, that really whet my appetite for a next-gen MMX game. Zombie aside, if the next MMX game plays like that, I'd definitely consider buying whatever console it was attached to.

  5. Just to throw in with the general misanthropy I'm not entirely happy with the cameo. Though more because I'm upset given the armor that the charge shot hasn't shown to manifest pink bullet hell.

  6. What a good looking guy in megaman's suite! Awesome, man. It should be megaman games of the next generation console! Sighing.

  7. So this is what the Elf Wars were like... oh wait.

Poor X, getting reduced to a costume cameo...

    1. You mean like the cameos in the last two Dead Rising games? If there weren't X cameos, people would be moaning about it either way.

  8. it has to be a dubstep on every capcom's trailers these days. this is mega man. he should have rock or metal musics not a dubstep nobody likes. i blame the new DmC for it. also, mega man in dead rising 3? big surprise there. it's not like every dead rising game didn't have any mega man reference or costumes before. /sarcasm
