Take a Look at the Mega Man 25th Anniversary Tribute Album

Sumthing Else Music Works has combined forces with Capcom to deliver MM25: Mega Man Rocks, a compilation tribute album featuring 18 fan-made tracks and remixes inspired by the franchise.

Featured artists include Mega Ran, The Megas, Arm Cannon, The Bit Brigade, and X-Hunters. The Protomen will also be contributing, donating three tracks to the album, including the previously unreleased "Built To Last." You can check out the complete track list at Capcom Unity and 30 second samples of each track at Sumthing.com

MM25: Mega Man Rocks will be available for purchase from iTunes, Amazon.com, and Sumthing Else Music Works' website on October 29. Look forward to it!

    1. I can understand people complaining about the $100+ price on the Sound Box, but $10? That's like what, $0.55 per song?

  2. I will buy Megaman 11 game for 10 dollars.. Not this crap at all! Capcom, stop making the music!

  3. There's something about classic VGM fan arrangements put to lyrics that makes me want to kill myself.

  4. I'm sure someone will rip it, it'll just take some time. Now if the $10 would go to Child's Play or another charity, that would be nice.

    1. Because it's not like people should expect to be paid for their work? But if they do and you don't want to pay it's OK to just steal it, right?

  5. Only the negative side of the fanbase shows up to these posts. Thanks for the complaining and griping you guys. That help everything.

Bit Brigade was at PAX this year, and even though they're kind of minimalistic in their arrangements (The Minibosses are too), I admit they were still pretty great. They played the soundtrack to MM2 while someone on stage played through of the whole game live. I bought their CD after the show.

You can watch the full show here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxLVbceWPRg
Though that recording really doesn't do justice to how massively loud they were in there : )

    1. Speaking of negative, it's always Mega Man 2. When will someone play through and perform.......Mega Man 7?!

  6. Rampant negativity? From the Mega Man fanbase? The "we hate everything unless it's a game/Mighty #9" crowd? Imagine that.

This looks pretty cool, and I may check it out. I actually haven't had occasion to listen to a lot of the Protomen, and I've been told that I should remedy this.

  7. Seeing a lot of "Anonymous" people with the same complaint here. Makes me wonder if it isn't one person. Also people judging the entire "Mega Man fanbase" from a few Anonymous complaints on this site. Brilliant as anything else.

As for the actual topic here, this is an alright idea depending on who is looking at it.

I don't mind arranges myself, but it's kind of unfortunate that if these fan band/albums appeal to you and you have looked into them before, you may have already heard a lot of the songs going into this collab, arranged or not.

  8. I really liked what I've heard. Never really given Mega Ran a listen before but I kind of like what I've heard. I'm really looking forward to hearing the rest of "Built to Last".
