  1. I really hate how Hollywood hijacked SDCC. It was difficult enough to get those tickets when I went in '07. Now it's next to impossible to get them without paying your liver to a scalper on ebay or getting them 3 years in advance. :( It was never hard or expensive to go when it was not so mainstream.

Oh well. Whoever's going, have a great time! I hope to see these guys in the future so I can buy original art. That's what I love to do when I go to these cons. :D

  2. "Yes, I have a question. How come Archie relies on talentless Sonic fans to make the Megaman comic instead of hiring professionals?".

  3. (@Prof. Megaman) Such a shame that question would be operating under a fallacy. It's also funny because you wouldn't have the spine to actually ask that.

Don't you think it's about time to let go of your hatred of Ian Flynn and develop some maturity already?

    1. Don't doubt for a minute that I wouldn't. I'm quite reckless in that regard.

I only hate Flynn professionally, and that's only because he's not a professional.

Dumping the responsibility of writing a Megaman comic in the hands of an over-hyped Sonic fan-fic writer is a wasted opportunity. It's much cheaper than hiring an actual writer, but it's still a waste.

I'm actually starting to miss Ken Penders. At least his garbage was bad enough to remember. Flynn's writing is like a rice cake for the mind: Devoid of substance or flavor.

  4. You're assuming he's capable. That's literally all he does; every time there's a news story about the comic, he comes on and posts his "opinion" just to be a troll. Personally I think he's just mad that he couldn't get them to look at his Sonic the Hedgehog fan art. I might be wrong, though. They might have looked and told them they didn't like it, earning his undying enmity.

As for the panel, I'd be interested in seeing what story lines they have planned. I'm looking forward to the Mega Man 3 adaptation and I'd like to know when it's going to start.

    1. Literally? You make it sound like I've devoted my entire life to an anti-Archie campaign.

I simply choose to remain vigilant about this because silence leads to apathy, apathy leads to ruin.

And for the record, I haven't submitted artwork to Archie since I was 11. (Knuckles The Echidna Issue #5 "Brian Meyer" on the fan art page.)

    2. Okay, dude. Keep tilting at your windmill, and keep telling yourself that spamming comment boards and shouting out rude questions at a convention is just "preventing ruin" and not at all something that an immature jerk would do. You'll be a legend in your own time any day now, I'm sure.

  5. *clicks prof megaman's name*

*sees topless women in his gallery*

Geezuz dude, keep that stuff to yourself. Poor protodude is getting R material links on his blog without realizing it.

    1. It's the man's DA. I have no control.

    2. I know you don't. Which is why I feel he should be holding himself accountable for that. >_> You get visitors of all ages, the last thing you need is him ruining your blogs image with links like that.

    3. Turn on the mature content filter on your DA account, or just don't click the link. Either way works.

  6. Hey, Professor. If you're so adamant on "improving" the quality of the MM comic

then take your complaints to the Bumbleking forums where Ian will ACTUALLY SEE THEM

Also, did it ever occur to you that 1) being a fan of something and being a professional are not mutually exclusive, 2) being a professional doesn't automatically mean you'll do a good job, and 3) you're a self-proclaimed "passionate Megaman fan", so your constant ragging on Ian for daring to have emotional investment in the source material is more than a little hypocritical.

    1. I've made my feelings clear to him on his DA page. He ignores ALL negative criticism.

If I'm a fan of something and it produces bad things, it doesn't mean I have to either like those bad things or revoke my fan status.

There's a difference between fandom and blind, undiscerning loyalty.

    2. He barely uses his dA page anymore, due to work. I'm on Bumbleking, where he has a regular presence, and I've seen him respond to criticism in a polite and thoughtful manner. Go to Bumbleking.

(And no, you don't have to like the comic. We want you to stop bitching about it every single time Protodude posts about it.)

    3. Ian has made it clear in the past that his DA isn't a good place to talk to him. And what do you expect him to do, argue with you about his work? Writers almost never do that--it's called professionalism.

    4. There's a difference between offering negative criticism and just being a jerk. You don't offer any cogent criticism at all; instead you come on every post about the comic, say something insulting, and then complain when people call you out on it.

You don't seem to understand that your comments are not insightful, are certainly not mature, and that yes, you have the right to dislike things and to express that dislike, but when you do so in a manner that makes you seem like a snotty, childish brat and makes reading this site less pleasant when you do so, other people have an equal right to come down on you for it.

Will this change your mind? Probably not; you're on a crusade, after all, and nothing's changed your mind up till now. But you need to stop pretending that you're the sole voice of reason and start seeing what the rest of us do; that your criticism isn't the problem. It's they way you come across. Frankly, it's you.
