  1. Not bad either.

I will keep my eyes on this through Rockman Corner. I dont like facebook. Too many drama and bullies that I noticed. Anyway, thanks for update.

  3. Those boss designs...just....no.

    Gameplay seems solid, though.

  5. Man, I can remember years ago when this was going under the name MegaMan 9 before Capcom actually even announced the real thing. I'm glad to see the project is still alive.

  6. Man I still remember years ago when he was showing this off under the name MegaMan 9 well before Capcom announced the real MM9. Glad to see this is still alive!

  7. @Travis Hill:

That's Mega Man 10 you're thinking of. That's the title that Unlimited had before the official tenth game was revealed. Due to this confusion, artwork from Comet Woman's stage was erroneously added to the official site. Check the "Overview" section, and you'll find that it's still there.

  8. Okay, I'm thoroughly impressed by the level of quality displayed here. It absolutely blows MMvsSF out of the water. Capcom, give this guy your stamp of approval.

  9. Woah! O_O Can't wait for it! :D

Spriting isn't easy, that's why 8/16-bit is a favorite of fan games. Maybe programming is easier than creating 32-bit (or +) sprites? Programming and drawing tons of poses vs. programming poses for a 3D model and applying textures. Hum...

  10. Looks good, but Phil needs to work on his art.

  11. Well it certainly looks as fun as any prospective 8-Bit Megaman game..

But I have to admit that the bad theme song and boss masters are a major turn off.

Also, I hope the level design isn't based on a clinical dependency on support items. Those are the worst.

  12. In addition to the other things mentioned about Mega Man 10, if I remember right one of the bosses in this game was going to be named Nitroman.

But then there was an actual Nitroman in Mega Man 10 so now it's Trinitroman.

Oh yeah, that's right, I'd forgotten that people were still counting Rockman & Forte as 9 at that point, I'd forgotten that.

On another note, I've got to say that I really like the RM designs shown off here, they really do fit in with the rest of the classic series.

  14. So uh... Yokuman isn't a hidden boss anymore, then? I know he hasn't been much of a secret for quite some time, but still...

  15. @The Thinker: God forbid we actually put some effort into evolving our fan games. So Capcom isn't allowed to do 8 bit but the fangames are? I swear unless it's Megaman X or beyond, nobody in this fanbase is willing to give Classic the visual overhaul we need.

Look at the Mario and Sonic fangames. Do you see them doing 8-bit(or whatever the Genesis was) because it's 'easier'?

No. You them doing at least SNES level graphics, with Sonic fangames even dipping into 3D models. The level of motivation that Megaman fangames generally want to put into their work is pathetic. The best fangames are generally those that move beyond 8-bit, or at least don't do the same old thing that Classic has done for years. Megaman X Corrupted, 8-Bit Deathmatch and Megaman Battle Network Chrono X are examples of what our fangames should be striving towards.

By allowing ourselves to be content with 8-bit, we send a clear sign to Capcom that we're happy with the bare minimum. And that's something I'm not content with.

  16. @Previous Anon: "Super Mario Bros. Z". Nuff said.

  18. Jeez anon if they creator of the fan game likes 8 bit let him make 8 bit. I really don't like it how you acting like you're so committed but your not doing anything about it. Go make a non 8 bit fan game. Talk with your actions not words.

  19. @4th Anon up:

If you are basing your logic on "sending Capcom a message by the fan games that are created" then you are seriously lost my friend.

Capcom is a business and if they can't figure out what to do to make money, regardless of what fanbases want/don't want or are themeselves creating, then that's their own fault.

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but MMX:C is a 16-bit game that is EXACTLY like all other MMX games (although not as graphically advanced as X7/X8). Just because they copied Metroid and put Mega Man X sprites on it doesn't make it any better than making a whole new Mega Man game 8-bit style. Mega Man Unlimited is going to be way cleaner in my opinion, both in programming and in objective.

I've seen a FEW of the tilesets from MMX:C and they all seem copuied to me...
