R20+5 Could Head Stateside, New Mega Man Shirts Coming to Capcom Store

Capping off day one of the 25th anniversary celebrations, Brelston has rounded up each announcement in a single post. He used this opportunity to share some particularly good news about the newly release R20+5 art book: it's in talks to head stateside. No official release date yet, but the wheels are turning to get it on our shores. Don't be surprised if UDON will be the ones brining it over.

Lastly, an assortment of six new Mega Man t-shirts are coming to the Capcom Store early next year. You can check them out here. They're prepping a "snazzy lanyard" too, for what it's worth.

And that's it for the day. Once again, Brelston assures this is not the end of the announcements. More news will be shared throughout 2013.

  3. It WOULD be nice to get more than merchandise and a fangame, but for what it's worth, this is anniversary merch. And ill admit, those shirts are pretty amusing. Raining Mega men indeed.

Really hoping we get something new. I've been telling people to calm down and wait for today to see proof that megaman hasn't forgotten the franchise. Nothing so far backs me up.

If nothing actually new shows up, then I've lost my credibility, and there's no way I can continue to defend Capcom. I've defended them ever sense a month or so after Legends 3 failed to get greenlit, so they'd better not make me into a liar.

  7. Cripes. It's just been one day. The anniversary celebrations aren't over yet. How about waiting until all is said and done before griping?

  8. Capcom, I am losing my patience very quickly. This is now how you celebrate 25 years of a franchise.

  10. Reggie White Jr hit the nail on the head here!

It's been a day we've got a game, which ok it's not a numbered official thing but it's a game which we weren't expecting to get.

In the U.S. at least you guys have now got confirmation of the NES games being ported along with dates which was something a lot of people wanted to know & more cool merch including that D-Arts Classic MM (which looks sweet & hope they release the Bass figure they've been teasing) as well as shirts & avatar stuff .... for one day thats not bad goin tbh.

The Street Fighter Anniversary box set wasn't announced until later on into the SF Anniversary so who knows we may get something similar & whats not to say we may get more game related stuff later.. we've got a full year!

People need to stop bitching at least until December 17th 2013...

  11. This is total crap so far... Oh I don't know maybe a Rock Can Soundtrack or a Anniversary Box like they did with Street Fighter would be nice! There's no excuse why they can't do that for Mega Man!

  12. Anon 7:
The Street Fighter 25th Anniversary began in August 30th, and the 25th Anniversary Collection was announced May 23rd, three months before the actual anniversary.

I feel like I've been let down. I was expecting something-- anything. I don't have a 360, so the Avatar awards don't appeal to me. I already bought MM1-5 on my Wii's VC. The D-Arts figures I was already going to buy on eBay. I already have MegaMan OCW. I mean, as a longtime fan, I'm disappointed.

Even the $200 E-Tank full of soundtracks from 1-10 would have been better than t-shirts, lanyards, and a book I own with a few extra pages.

It's not like I'm mad at Capcom still for cancelling Legends 3 and Universe. I've gotten over that, and I've even defended Capcom from my own friends' criticism before. I wasn't expecting any games for the 25th. I was maybe expecting a statue, maybe a limited edition MegaMan-styled 3DS or something. A MegaMan prop maybe? But this?

And the "to be continued in 2013" doesn't cheer me up either. I don't know, it just says "we have no idea what to do right now, so sit tight until we have something for you." Sure, they could come up with something really cool next year, but his birthday is today.

    Thanks, Capcom.

  13. Hey, Protodude, just FYI...

a popular subtitle group Subtitled/translated ALL the Rockman Holic PVs (X-Buster, I Can't Beat Airman, Together As One, and Reloaded) and released them TODAY in light of Mega Man's 25th. Just FYI.

    Here's a link.

    Enjoy guys.

BTW, from what I'm told, the popular consensus from Japanese fans of Reloaded's lyrics are supposedly from X's perspective and people seem to think that it's how he was thinking during the whole Elf Wars / building Neo Arcadia etc etc..

I dunno, that's what I was told.. Just relaying that as a point of interest.

  14. How come street fighter got a badass giant collection, with games, action figure and the series included... yet Mega Man gets a fangame and some shirts? Some Birthday.
