Capcom Trademarks "Fighters of Capcom"

Get the speculation train a-chuggin’. On November 8th, Capcom filed a trademark for "Fighters of Capcom." What kind of game is it? We can't say for certain. I like to think this may finally be that dream game; you know, the one where Capcom characters actually fight each other to a pulp in a no-holds-barred brawl. No Marvel or SNK folks allowed.

But there's also the possibility this is the localized name for Capcom All Stars With Everyone, a mobile card game RPG available in Japan. It's by no means a "fighting" game in the traditional sense, but the idea of Capcom characters versus Capcom characters still stands.

Regardless of what sort of game "Fighters of Capcom" is, the trademark suggests it could appear on anything from consoles to smart phones. For more details (and possible hints), you can find the whole set of intent-to-use applications at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  1. Capcom had to cancel the game because they remembered it would actually be good for their old blue mascot.

You know what I'm talking about.

    Captain Commando.

  3. This game will be made, and tons of old school Capcom characters will be in it. It will have a ton of awesome costumes, and modes... and the only MM characters in the game will be Tron Bonne and Zero. Tron will talk about building rockets, and Zero will insult X's pacifist ways like he did in Marvel 3... Problem? *Trollface.jpeg*

  5. Shame that such a thing wouldn't include cast from things such as Captain Commando or Breath of Fire, and other oldies.

More shame though that the populars would probably overwhelm it.

...Assuming that this isn't just a localized title, that is. But regardless, the populars always take over things.

  6. They wouldn't put in Classic Mega Man he doesn't have enough moves remember what they said during MVC3's development?

Yeah that was actually their excuse.

  7. Capcom Vs. Wesker

In all seriousness though, I really hope it's not that card game. If it's a fighter, I'd like to see a bit of diversity instead of making half the cast SF and RE characters. Breath of Fire, Sengoku Basara, and Power Stone needs some love.

  8. If this is indeed that 'dream game'.... Capcom, remember those polls we had a while ago? The ones where X won hand over fist? Yeah.

    Those still apply, damnit.
