Project X Zone Trailer Debuts

The much hyped Project X Zone trailer went live during tonight's Nintendo Direct stream. As anticipated, there's some (very) brief footage of X and Zero in action. Check it out:

The strategy RPG crossover is due out in Japan later this year. No word on an international release, I'm afraid. That decision rests with Namco Bandai, not Capcom. Keep those fingers crossed!

  1. Well then that's pretty much a death sentence, Namco Bandai has to be basically have a fire lit under their ass to localize RPGs of any sort these days.

  2. Welp, This pretty much confirm's its the 'unofficial' sequel to namco x capcom.

I wouldn't be surprised (but still disappointed) if it never came stateside. NvC was EXTREMELY great, was fun, long, and rarely had a dull moment. Ah well.

  4. Namco X Capcom
    X Edge
    Project X Zone

    Street Fighter X Tekken
    Tekken X Street Fighter

    Namco loves X with Capcom.

  5. Looks like fun (Ulala's in it? :D ), but there's a strong chance it won't be localized. :( Let's hope Namco Bandai can be convinced to bring it over.

  6. Well, all I can say is that we should could keep bugging Namco Bandai about this. As slim as the chances are, persistence CAN pay off in the end. Namco Bandai HAS released stuff before due to fan demand, even if there haven't been too many cases of it, so we just have to make our voices heard.

  7. The rights to Sakura Wars in the US are currently held by Nipponichi Ichi Software America.

Unless they can negotiate those it won't be able to come here imo. Looks nice tho.

  8. I believe there's not gonna be any chance for this game to come in to US. There's so many games only released in Japan, so it won't come to US for sure.

But I'm pretty excited on what other characters gonna appear since they said "and more..." on all characters. I know Frank West's gonna appear since Willamette was in the game, but I doubt characters like Sonic and Klonoa gonna be in it because this game seems to be focusing on human/robot/humanoid characters only. But it'll be great if they all appeared too. We'll see what's more coming in the future.

  9. Holy cow, that’s Jin and Xiaoyu. I didn’t know they were in the game! I love Tekken! Holy snap, I’m buying this game. I’m buying this game!

....Oh, and awesome footage of gameplay and X and Zero back in action.

  10. Hey... is Jill using "Combat A Tackle" from MvC2? Awesome!!!

  11. Honestly, I think all the skill name shouting gets pretty annoying, especially since two people are doing it at once. -_-

    Other than that, looks...okay...

  12. For a 3DS it´s kinda mediocre; those 2d graphics could be easily handled by the nds. I thought it had some MVC3 graphics or something along those lines. But having X and Zero, I guess "it´s something".

  15. @kotieplox: Are you freakin' serious...?

I guess you must think that any and all sprite work is an archaic art that should be forgotten. =/

  16. Is it bad that I feel this game has a better chance at being localized due to it being a Namco Bandai game than if it was a Capcom game?

  17. Quality spritework is rare in this day and age, but man those mugshots are terrible.

  18. I'll take pretty 2D sprites over average 3D on the 3DS any day

  19. @Clown Prince of Crime: Nop, you misunderstood me; i din´t mean that.

What I did was it´s kinda ridiculous to spend so much money in a console (because the 3ds isn´t as cheap as we expected) in order to play a 2d game.

Why couldn´t this game be released for nds?

What does make this game so special it specifically needs a 3ds but not a nds?

The point is, the 3ds was meant to show the best ("portably" speaking) of 3D graphics, not 2D; the nds can do that and it´s very good in its job.

  20. hmm, they paired up Demetri and Dante together. Interesting. (cause Demetri was a lone character in NxC)

I really hope that this game makes it across the oceans. Currently playing through NxC, and lets just say that while it is indeed fun and interesting, I only wish it wouldn't take me 3 hours to get through one chapter, of course that might just be me........

But wouldn't be cool if all the characters from NxC makes it into PxZ
