Watch Rockman Diver In Action

Footage of the newly released mobile phone game Rockman Diver has surfaced online courtesy of megacocorock. While the game may sound simple in theory, it actually looks quite challenging. Also, it's worth noting that Splash Woman is apparently a playable character! Check it out below.

The further you dive without death, the higher your score. Additional points are earned from successfully snatching a Yashichi.

I wouldn't mind having this on our shores, but for 315 Yen ($3.80)? Eh, I don't think so. $0.99 seems a bit more reasonable, if you ask me.

  1. Thought the transitions to different sections by passing the RM was pretty nifty.

  2. 0.99 is a reasonable to my opinion.. No, its a fact reasonable to me. However, this game is useless and bored rather quickly, sorry. I will pass.

  3. You could tell he was getting bored around 3 minutes in. XD

  4. About the time it got to "wow this music is getting repetitively irritating" he ran over Bubbleman and it changed. Hah.

Yeah, I can't see myself playing this often or at all.. even for 99 cents.

  5. Cute. The different Robot Masters and their themes showing up every 1000 points (for awhile) was cute.

It would've been cool to see them go the extra mile and include Aqua Man, but I wouldn't expect it...

  6. It doesn't seems to get very challenging, even after around 5minutes. Seems more like an excersize in endurance.

Still, it's fairly cute, especially with SplashWoman. 99 cents would be ok.

  7. So, that was Splash Woman's stage after all? Looks like I was right, then.

  8. Yeesh, 380 yen for a game like this? That's pretty pricey for such a simple game.

  9. I actually watched the whole thing. Things I did not expect:

    1. The green dude who changed the music (I thought it was an enemy)

    2. You can use the charge shot in this game

    3. and, the music was cool! I thought "Wow, that 1st music is REALLY cool!"

  10. Wow, I hadn't thought it would be this simplistic, no screen transitions, no enemies at all, barely any power ups.
A game like this should be free, not worth $0.99 and asking $3.80 is scandalous.

Any programmer can make this game in 1-2 hours. Heck, you could make this game in Warioware DIY.

  11. I wonder if anyone else noticed that the music wasn't exactly like the NES/WiiWare counterparts. Rather, it sounded like it was remade by the same person who did the music for the Rockman 7 & 8 FC Fangame remakes on PC, while having the most similarities to Rockman 8 FC(especially Bubble Man's stage music). Either that, or someone else uses PXTone, FL Studio or something.

Speaking of the game itself, it reminds me of the Paper Plane mini-game originally featured in Warioware. I would consider getting this, if the difficulty increased. But it didn't look like it did, if at all, by any reasonable margin. So I would pass on this, unless the price dropped on it.

  12. @EngineR2 Yeah, I noticed the music too. The Bubbleman remix sounded really good.

  13. Can someone figure out a way to rip the BGM for Bubble Man's? My brother just mentioned it to me as well about how his was not as Famicom/NES accurate as the other two. (and no I don't want to rip it through YouTube. Quality isn't high enough :|)

  15. A DS version I would like to have, CAPCOM should put a DS version or the upcoming new pocket console that would bright up the day.

  16. Protodude, I don't understand Japanese, but the video seems to be for a customized version of the game called "Rockman Diver Kai" done in Flash, not the original game. Someone that speak Japanese can confirm this?
