Zero Collection U.S Box Art Revealed; Game Releases June 8th?

GameStop has revealed the box design for Mega Man Zero Collection on its preorder page. It features a commanding shot of Zero with Copy X embedded in the Z-Sabre's blade while Ciel looks onwards. All in all, it's pretty much the same design as the Japanese package, which is by no means a bad thing.

GameStop's pre-order page also says the game will ship June 8th for $29.99, as does Amazon. Uncertain if the date is official, so it's likely tentative for the time being.

Thanks for the tips, Sarge.

  1. $29.99, huh? That's exactly how much the games cost in Nintendo's New Play Control! series.

  2. @Krazy: What are you trying to imply here? >_>

But anyways, all that aside, that's pretty freaking cheap.

Most other DS games tend to be priced at around $35 on launch, with the Square Enix tax pushing some of them up to $40 or higher.

  3. It's probably cheaper than normal DS games since it is pretty much a re-release. I know I wouldn't pay $40 for some "old" games, and when I mean old I just mean already released in the past. It would be kind of a rip-off if it were any higher... Plus they are probably trying to boost sales with the low price tag.

  7. Alilatias -

It's usually just first-part Nintendo releases that are priced that high when they launch. Aside from the Square Enix tax, of course. Most other third-party games seem to launch at $30, though... sometimes even $25.

The $30 MSRP for Zero Collection doesn't surprise me. Charging any more than that for a collection of four GBA games with very little (if anything, really) added would be a tough sell, even if they are great games.

In any case, that box art is PURE SEX. Would have preferred to see Original X on there in an heroic/poignant fashion instead of Copy X, though.

  11. @Alilatis:

I'm not implying anything. I was just simply stating that the two prices were the same. That's all.
