'Rockmanju' Candy Spotted In U.S

Reader ZeroX sends word that the Rockman 10-themed Japanese candy, 'Rockmanju', is being sold at Global Foods Market in Illinois. The store happens to carry both variations of the candy for $20 a pop: the 'shiroan' version, which uses the box art from original Rockman as a packaging, and the koshian version that's made to look like a retail copy of Rockman 10 if it were sold in a box.

It's pretty unusual to see a promo item like this being sold outside of Japan, but still a nice find nonetheless. No idea if these are being sold in other international grocery stores, but if you spot 'em anywhere else, give us a holler. Thanks, ZeroX.

  1. You know, I'm actually very surprised to see that they're using Mega Man 3 screenshots to promote this, rather than (the overrated) Mega Man 2. That alone, is enough to put a smile on my face. Also, I find it odd how Proto Man is Mega Man's navigator for that game in Navi mode, even though they were enemies at that time, but maybe that's just me.

  3. Interesting. I actually have an international shop near me. But I'm not particular interested in these candies, they sounded sorta gross to me. :P It's definitely cool to see them sold outside of Japan in a store.

  6. Like the time I found Rockman E-Tanks at Hot Topic. The American ones, though, not the Japanese ones.
What's Global Foods Market, anyway? Is that like Publix or Winn Dixie?
