So, How's OSS Doing?

Media Create has updated with the latest game software weekly sales rankings, and Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star, contrary to good first day sales, isn't doing so hot.

During its debut week (Nov. 9 - 15), OSS placed 9th with an estimated 22,744 units sold.  Not too bad considering that's only three days worth of data (OSS released on the 12th).  However, the following week's worth of data from Nov. 16th - 22nd, OSS plummeted to number 24 with an unspecified amount of units sold.  This is a rather severe difference to the later EXE titles, which would stay in the top ten for many, many weeks.

More updates as they come in.

  1. No real surprise, given that OSS is one of the most slipshod "remakes" Capcom's spit out in aeons.

May as well play .EXE1 over again, really.

  2. So, wonder when it's going to USA (I didn't say ''coming'', 'cause I live in europe.).

  3. Doesn't surprise me sadly they over hyped this game yet its actually no different than the GBA version. Just a new short scenario thats it.

  4. That's kind of a given. I'm surprised it got as many sales as it did in this "struggling economy" where gamers would rather spend money on games with new content. Silly move, Capcom. You need to put more work into your games.

  5. All that the game is worth, in my opinion, is seeing SS rockman in Rockman.EXE's "Terrain" of battle. And that gets old quick.

    @Taichara, That's what i said in a nutshell, really.

  6. I'm not surprised, considering the huge hype Capcom gave the game.

What we were expecting: Rockman.EXE and SSRockman meet and work together to stop Clockman.EXE from possibly ruining time.

What we actually got: A port of Rockman.EXE1 with SSRockman as a special guest in one short scenario.

Talk about rickrolling your fans, Capcom.

  7. Nah, the Resident Evil remakes (besides #1) on GameCube were worse.

They had absolutely NOTHING added to the games. And that was REs 2-Code Veronica, so they lazied that up 3 times in a row for RE.

At least EXE OSS had SOMETHING added new to it.

  8. If there's no OSS2, I won't be heartbroken. Put those guys back to work on DASH 3 instead.

  9. This is no suprise. It's not like EXE was unpopular in the first place so a remake was unneccesary... I'm a little mad because they had a chance to make an epic game and screwed it up. What should of happened was the game taking place in multiple EXE games not just 1. In addition they were not limited to JUST EXE, they could have gone further into the past to Mu(to bring the beloved solo back) and could have given more back story to other characters. The can't do it now because it would make no sense, why would they mess with time after the first screw up?

  10. As much as I love the Megaman series, I'm glad it doesn't sell well. It should show Capcom that they should consider stopping its annual DS Megaman release. It's quite frustrating to see that console Megaman game has been abandoned for years.

  11. Doesnt surprise me. People dont want shitty ports that are falsely advertised as something better.

  12. Honestly, this was both expected AND deserved.

  13. I actually liked the game better than the GBA version though I do have to say as a whole it should have been better. They should have gone the route of an EXE6.5 (like EXE 4.5)with S.S Rockman part of the story or maybe go the route of a whole new game with EXE7 maybe introducing Raito and Rockman.EXE jr. In comparison to EXE5's port, Twin Leaders, this game has less to offer. If they continue to port EXE (like some idiotic rumorer's tell me)with EXE2-4 and 6 they better come up with more content to put in. But whatever....

  14. to be honest, what capcom should do is actually put more effort into creating a decent EXE DS game, and give it a couple of years or so.

  15. I hope it comes to the US at least.

  16. Failed. I believe they (Capcom) fear the market, and the game production becomes a problem.

  17. Your got smurf, uh. . I mean you got served Capcom, yea. . you got served for making a crappy game.

  18. Rather expected.

It seems EXE 1 did not age well at all, and the way Capcom handled this project is probably one of the worst ways to go about this ever.

@ The Anon mentioning EXE 7:

I wonder why a lot of people want an EXE 7.

EXE ended at 6... If they ever make a truly new EXE game, it's either going to be a spin-off, or it's going to have a different title (anything except for "EXE 7") and possibly start a new series of its own.

  19. Well, now we know how close it is to EXE1.

    Too close.

  20. @Alilatias: You could just as easily pick it back up at EXE7. Because they mentioned a few sentences about the future with NO graphics or anything, it was a slapped-on ending.

Whether they should make EXE7 is up for debate, but there's no reason why the story couldn't continue from where it was.

We'll just have to wait and see. I'd like a Legends 3 and a PROPER new EXE game. Later, though. Not now. I want them both to have a lot of effort put into them.

  21. Yep well this was pretty much assumed from the beginning when the first screen shots came out <.<

Obviously they don't care what the 'fans' think now do they?

Is Capcom purposely trying to kill Rockman? Or was this actual effort to try and create a new game O_O?

  22. Wonder why people aren't buying this game, maybe they don't like it?

Oh well, I just want this game to come to the U.S

  23. "Wonder why people aren't buying this game, maybe they don't like it?"

Because it's literally almost the same game people played 8 years ago. That wouldn't be such a problem if that the game wasn't so outdated in comparison to every game in the series that came after it. Not hard to understand is it?

  24. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH THIS MAKES ME SO ANGRY.

What pisses me off the most is they reuse the sprites. God DAMMIT this what ticks me off the most. You have a whole team to work and draw, it would take no more less than 2 weeks for a character sprite/head shot and all its functions.

Angry and betrayed is what I feel, but I' still but it.

Always dreaming for that X9,Powered Up 2, and Legends 3.
They sure like to bring us up and drop us down. :(

  25. The current guy in charge of Rockman is the same idiot who got us SSR1 right off the coattails of EXE6(which, system-wise, despite the ridiculous easiness of the game, was outright marvelous). Why did SSR1 get so much negative attention? Simple. They took everything decent that EXE6 did and chucked 70% of it out the window. Of course, that would ultimately affect ZXA and SSR2 sales, since EXE ended up being just as much of a pillar of Rockman sales as X and Zero during its lifespan. This means that combined with slowly failing economy, it's not enough to warrant ZX3. SSR2, again, didn't address enough of the flaws of SSR1. Sure, they fixed up a few things and added a more reliable system, but again, it honestly paled in comparison to EXE6. SSR3 FINALLY fixes the thing, but with nobody giving a damn about Rockman anymore thanks to SSR1 and 2, and with the economy really going into the gutter, it sells FAR too poorly for its quality(which is somewhat on par with EXE for once). And then the idiot head decides to remake EXE1, but with less than 10% of new content(whereas in comparsion, Gyakuten Saiban got an increase in music quality combined with a new interface and a first-time international release, with an additional 5th scenario which helped boost content of the original by at least 30%, and gave it enough momentum for 2 and 3 to be remade and so on).

Honestly, everything Capcom's done for the last 3-4 years has been full of bad moves. ZX was a great game and so was ZXA. Only, they not only undo everything that the Zero series' plot achieved, the addition of two seperate plotlines convlutes the already confusing Classic timeline even further. Would it have killed them to have just gone from Zero to DASH without bringing Zero's soul back AGAIN and undoing everything that Z4's ending meant? Would it have killed them to have enhanced UPON EXE6 instead of chucking everything out the window for SSR(and then saying the equivalent of "It's not EXE" when it's clearly EXE's successor)?

I swear, the fanbase could probably do a better job if they were given the resources.

  29. @RADIX:

I think it's fair game for people to complain about a shoddy game that was overhyped. It's also fair game to note that this was hardly the first exceedingly poor judgement on Capcom's part in recent years.

Poor quality and bad judgement leads to people speaking against such. That's not "anti-Capcom", that's speaking one's mind.
