Operate Shooting Star Demo Hits Nintendo Channel (UPDATE 2)

Surprise, surprise: As of today, Japanese Wii owners can download a free demo of Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star via the Nintendo Channel. Based on Nigoli's breakdown of the demo, it appears it is the same build that was featured at the Tokyo Game Show a couple of weeks ago.

Pictures, and impressions of the demo available at Nigoli's blog.

  1. Wow, who the hell still uses floppy drives? You can hear one in the background of that video, grinding away.

  2. That is way cool, Star Forces original battle theme! do you think MMN will get a translation?

  3. Why can't we try to play as SSRockman :(?

  4. Just downloaded and played. It is shorter than the battle I played at the TGS, since you can't fight SS Rockman in this one.

  6. Eh, it's just.. Battle Network. No more, no less. I expected a musical update, at least.. since the SF3 demo had new music, I'm starting to think there isn't any.. (Oh yeah, sorry I was away so long Proto :P)

  7. I'm surprised how quickly it was out when the Site Update was posted. Earlier in the day, I was just re-downloading the Nintendo Channel.

I'm sure Boxart is coming very soon too. I couldn't access the DS Info patch on the Channel at all when I tried yesterday.

  8. Wow that's... lacking.

Ok, all of this would be worth the trouble, if they'd just put online in. Other than that, the only REAL reason to get this is to have the maps on the internet.

Awful, just awful. I'm disappointed. When I first heard of EXE's return I was ecstatic and now it's just a resounding "meh." Oh well, if it comes to the US I'll pick it up, but grudgingly. Darn you Capcom, now you've ruined any chance of one last GOOD game!

  17. Anyway, once again, nice to see *-code V1 Navi Chips are back. Those were a really good idea. Nothing else to mention... I hope they don't use SSR1's battle theme with SS RockMan. SSR3's music was so much better than the previous two games, and it IS the SSR3 design. =/

  18. I've never played SSR before but that is a really nice tune going there near the end when he shows up.

But yeah, I have no interest in this either.

I already have the first battle network safely tucked away in my nostalgia box.

It would be something if it was a 3D remake or something along the lines but a pretty straightforward port with a new Megaman thrown in? I'm not paying thirty dollars for that.
