The Votes Are In...

...and it looks like I'll be contacting Andrew Francis, the voice of NT Warrior's Mega Man.EXE, for an interview. In the meantime, I'd like you guys to go on ahead and send your questions to Andrew in the comments. I'll forward them to Mr. Francis and have him answer as many as he can.

As a suggestion, try asking questions not only about his role as the blue bomber, but also about his work as an actor in general, you know, to mix things up a bit in order to prevent the interview from became repetitive or boring.

I'll be taking questions from now until September 12th. Hop to it!

  1. Dadgumit, I wish I could think of something interesting to ask! Ask him if he's ever played the battle network games at all. Oh and if he would do the other post-Axess series if they brought them over. (So pretty much, did he like the role.)

I'll probably think of another question soon.

  2. How do you get into voice acting?

  3. Are you familiar with the MM series? played the games before?

  4. I'd ask him, "If you could be Megaman.EXE would you?"

  5. COOL!! Okay, well I would love to know how he was chosen for playing the voice acting role of Mega Man exe.

  6. Does he have a favorite role he's been cast as in the past? Is there a type of role

(For example, Mega was a good guy but Andrew also played Haseo in the .hack//ROOTS series, someone who had multiple angles to his character)

    he enjoys more than others?

  7. I'm sorry, but I have to ask it.

What was it like voice-acting Haseo in .hack//Roots? How much did they tell you about the character before you started recording and how much, if any, did you have to find out by yourself?

  8. can he make me a recording as megaman? ^^

  9. - If you could be a Navi, who would you want to be?

    ReplyDelete
  10. What is he working on now?

  11. Were there plans to dub EXE Stream and the EXE stream movie?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Were you allowed to view the footage before dubbing it, or were you forced to dub it blind? (I hear that that practice is somewhat common)

Also, have you ever played a game in the Battle Network series?

Were all 51 episodes of Axess actually dubbed and not aired simply because of Kids' WB/Teletoon, or did Viz really skip a large chunk of episodes in the second half of the series? I find it bizarre that they'd dub the first 37 episodes (which contained a lot of stinkers), but then randomly start skipping perfectly-fine episodes (particularly the Windman episode, which is the character's only appearance in the entire franchise, yet Mattel released a Windman action figure).

  14. Are you really super awesome?

  15. "Why so many name changes for characters? Savageman, Heavymetalman, and so forth."

  16. Throughout Your life as a voice actor which three roles did/do you favor the most?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Which roles would wish you had voiced but could not?

  18. Do you think that there could be real PET's and NetNavis?

  19. Can you give us info on the upcoming game Megaman.EXE: Operate Shooting Star. Will it be realesed in the U.S.?

  20. ATTENTION EVERYONE: Just as reminder, Andrew (and more than likely ALL of the NT Warrior cast) have no information on when new games and new episodes or anything relating to actual production are being released. The actors are the LAST people to be told that stuff.

Q: You started out as a child actor for places like Ocean, got a ton of work and continue to get work even today. Since this happens with a lot of other talented kids for Vancouver Voice Actors, when your voice dropped was there ever any fear or issues of not being able to continue? Did you continue to persue the craft and not let go? Also, specfically for Megaman, did this come into play where they were seeking something along the lines of a younger voice similar to the Japanese?

  21. XD Guys guys, he was a voice actor. He's not in on Capcom Japan's secrets. XD I doubt he even knows the storyline of the games.

    ReplyDelete
  22. What was your favorite scene in the Megaman series?

    alternatively,

Who was your favorite (voiced by someone else) character?

    ReplyDelete
  23. He knows nothing about Operate Shooting Star. He's not even affiliated with it. At all.

  24. 1. What was the most interesting and favorie episode for you and why?

    2. Have you ever played any of the MMBN and/or SSR games? If yes, than what was your most favorite game and why.

    3. Were you always interested in voice acting? Please explain your answer.

    4. What was your reaction when you found out that you will be voiceing the legendary Mega Man?

    5. If you ever get another chance to voice Mega Man in the future, will you? Can you please explain your answer?

    ReplyDelete
  25. 1. Do you have MEGAMAN STARFORCE: 3? If yes, than can I be your brother or rival? My FC is 090407357722. I am Wolf Noise and I have all the stars. (Sorry Protodude, I couldn't help asking this question :p.)

    2. Which charecter did you like the best in the Megaman NT Warrior?
    Can you explai?

    ReplyDelete
  26. "Please Explain your answer" Geez! XD It's like you're putting him up to standardized tests! If we get any interview at all we should be grateful, so try to be a little less pushy with your questions. @_@

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well if I don't ask him to explain his answer, the interview will be too short and boring. I don't want to sound pushy or anything but, if you don't ask him to explain than the every question will be be answered with a yes or no. You can say something else instead of "Please explain your self" you know. Do yu agree with me Protodude?

    ReplyDelete
  28. If he does answer the question, I'm sure he will be willing to explain his reasoning w/o being told to "explain." I wouldn't worry about it.

  29. To start, I'd like to know if he liked the character he voiced, Rockman.exe?

Did he ever really felt like he was actually rockman?

Did he found a situation in his life similar to one rockman passed through in the series?

What kind of character, with what kind of personality would he like to voice (not necessarily in the rockman series)?

How can one get into voice acting, any advise?

It would be nice to know any of these question's answer. :3

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ask him if he's planning to continue being a voice actor for the foreseeable future, and if it's been terribly hard to find roles.

Also whether he's made any outstanding friendships with fellow cast members (Whether Rockman.exe or not) that have lasted even after recording for the series ended.

I'm very much interested as to whether there's any sort of Voice Actor community vibe that goes on. Like a "part of the clan" sorta deal.

Also, if you would, express my appreciation for the contribution of his skills to my favorite series of all time. :D

  31. We should come to a 3/5 compromise for Battle Network Fans, because then things other than Lan might happen. I can't wait for Scott McNeil's & Rob Smith's turns. Man, & I actually thought Roger Rhodes might win.

Not that I hate Andrew Francis or EXE or nothing, but this always happens. So my question is this:

"What's your favorite part of NT Warrior? Mine is when Lan jacks into the toilet with his mom watching."

    ReplyDelete
  32. Good grief I wish they'd dubbed the show better. >_<

    ReplyDelete
  33. lol which other exe character, if able to choose, would he be if not megaman?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Is he interested in japan/animé/games/megaman in general and not just voice acting for a living?

    ReplyDelete
  35. How did you decide to go with Megaman's voice and personality when you went to go audition for him?

    ReplyDelete
  36. If the movie came to our shores would he voice his character?
