Horinouchi Teases Future Mega Man Projects

A little something something that was overlooked in GameTrailer's interview with Takeshi Horinouchi:
GT: ANY SECRETS OR PREVIEWS YOU CAN SHARE ABOUT WHAT WE CAN EXPECT FROM THE MEGA MAN SERIES IN THE FUTURE?

TK: We are already moving ahead with several new plans not limited to a specific target or hardware, and are working hard to be able to tell you more about it. Please stay tuned!
If you're disappointed in Operate Shooting Star, keep your fingers crossed and hope that for something more to your liking will pop up in the near future.

  3. In the future ?? Waste my time. They should think about it in the first place. Remake was not the answer and they should know better than that! JEEZ!

  5. Hmmm... if I remember right this guy replaced the guy who produced EXE. Might be wrong but I read somewhere in an interview that RnR was his first producage.

Might be why it wasn't quite as awesome as it could have been. Oh well, I could be completely wrong in the first place, I just hope they don't botch the new EXE!

I'm pretty excited about potential new projects. Maybe an EXE remake AND a crossover? Perhaps a 3D RnR game? Legends 3? X9? Time will tell and I will be content with OSS until then. :)

  6. NOT LIMITED TO SPECIFIC HARDWARE?! God I hope they mean that for ONCE they won't do another frickin' DS game... (As much as I love my DS, they reeeeally need to branch out.)

  8. @anon1: Takeshi Horinouchi is the current Producer for EXE etc... But the fans and staff use the nickname Horiken because the kanji used for Takeshi can be read as Ken; coincidentally, this is related to why Nangoku Ken (the owner of BIGWAVE) from Shooting Star is based on his appearance.

  9. Forgive my ignorance, but whatever happened to what's-his-name - the guy Meijin/Mr. Famous was based on? Wasn't he the guy in charge of both EXE and SF? Did this guy take his job?

  10. Eguchi Masakazu, or Meijin is still part of the series. He was never really in charge of the series itself, he and Yasuma did much of the creation of the main story and characters, and during the Ryuusei time he did a lot of the writing, and was the Director of the second installment. His name was absent from the third game, but he did work on it and is still working at Capcom.

Horiken on the other hand came in as a producer for 4.5, and 5 and so on, working on all the EXE, ZERO, ZX and Ryuusei titles since, as the most direct producer. Meaning he may not be making as much as some of the other producers on the game, but he would be working hardest to make sure the games sell.
